Let's go back to the 90s. It seems a common thing to do nowadays. Why not, eh? Who doesn't love a bit of the 90s? I grew up in the 90s, and became a massive Hardcore enthusiast. And when I say enthusiast, I do mean it though. I even did a presentation at school, detailing the history of Hardcore music, and devouring every second on educating my fellow class mates. It didn't work, as most of them were into Rock music, but I tried. I don't even remember getting a grade for it, a score. I think I just got a tap on the shoulder by my teacher and that was it. Nothing more. But Hardcore stayed with me, until the end of time (whenever that might be).
I am in love with the 90s, and when it comes to Hardcore music, it cannot be beaten. Well, maybe only slightly by Millennium Hardcore, and if you consider it a standalone style, Happy Hardcore. But 90s Hardcore/Gabber still sounds fresh, exciting, and gets everyone on the dancefloor. It is harder, rougher, and sometimes tougher. And today I needed something harder and tougher. And here it is: a mix dedicated to 90s Hardcore music.
core25 made this mix, and it contains mostly Dutch Hardcore/Gabber tunes (with a few UK tunes too). And seeing the tracklist brings a smile on my face. Why? Well, it's filled with anthems I haven't heard in a long time. And I'm not kidding. These anthems are forgotten records. Maybe there's a reason behind them being forgotten, or simply because there were too many other anthems out there? Who knows. But it's time to blow the cobwebs of them, and bring them back to life, into the wonderful world we call the internet.
Bring back the 90s. That's for damn sure.

As I said before, this contains some forgotten gems. My God, my jaw dropped when I saw this list. And it always makes me wonder: did these producer know at the time they were making these classics? Were they aware that, many years after the songs were released, we are still listening to them? Would be cool to find out.
It's a great selection by core25. And there's plenty of old stuff for you to discover or to rediscover. So many of these records you don't hear that often, but they should be played more often. Thanks to mixes like this one do we find them (again).
This is a bit rougher than usual, which isn't a bad thing, but if you've never heard early 90s Hardcore/Gabber, it might come a bit as a shock. It can be melodic and beautiful, but overall its tough. A tough cookie to swallow if you don't know the potential behind each record. It can be beautiful, as long as you open yourself up.
And there are so many great songs in here. One of them is 'Mad Creator' by Omar Santana. What a big hit, and it's not even a UK or NL anthem, but a US anthem.
Thinking back I am happy to have experienced the 90s. But I wouldn't mind hearing more mixes like this one, to take me back in time yet again. Relive the 90s as much as I can.
