It's been a while since we heard a DJ mix. We did check out his set at Sinistry last year, but before that, the last mix I encountered was done in 2020. It's been a while, and when I saw that he posted a message on social media regarding a new mix, you knew I had to jump on it immediately. And for this mix he decided to dig deep in his record collection, and find any UK Hardcore anthem that rocked the dancefloors back in the day. Obviously his interest was peaked after Bonkers in London recently (which I didn't go to, but I wish I went), and I bet you my life that there are a lot more mixes like this one online after people went to Bonkers.
Before we move on, can we maybe discuss the image above? I've been to a few raves in my life, and never had the opportunity to see such an image occur. Does that make me special? Looks a bit ominous, right? Is there a subliminal message hidden in the image?
But now, let us discuss the mix. Obviously he had to pick the big anthems, but what he also did: he picked a few underrated anthems that I have completely forgotten about. And he's even added a few I've never heard before. A nice blend between the known and unknown, and forgotten tracks. And Cyrax being who he is, he obviously had to add a few Freeform anthems in here. Of course, why not?
We are having a party here, and the hands are high up in the air. Mainly my hands, as I do love this mix and the tracks selected. There are a few unknowns, so if you are a 100% diehard UK Hardcore fanatic, you might be able to fill in the blanks?

It's a brilliant looking tracklist, and it's a nod to the forgotten era of UK Hardcore. But it is still alive, and kicking. We saw the response to Bonkers in London, and people loved it, so it isn't forgotten at all. We need it to be revived and we need to bring back the noughties sound rapidly. This mix shows why this 'early' sound is dope as fuck.
Of course Cyrax's mix contains the big hits, and we all love them. And even though I said that there were a few ID-less records, there's only one. Can you name that song for me please?
But that's not the greatest song. It is a song I've not heard before, but it gives me such great vibes, and it takes me back to when Freeform was everything in my life. 'Made Of Love'. Not heard that one before, but it's a big anthem. Seriously, this hits hard.
It's a solid mix, and it's nice to see a mixture of everything in an hour long mix. Couldn't wish for more on this Sunday. A few tiny errors, but that would not spoil the pleasure you'll receive after listening to this mix.
