I am a massive Happy Hardcore fan. If you've ever visited my site over the last 10+ years, you must have spotted that the amount of Happy Hardcore reviews would always be higher than any other music genre. I am a Happy Hardcore fanatic, and it's the one style of music that brings joy to my otherwise boring life. I am an advocate for bringing Happy Hardcore back to the forefront, and I don't care what your opinion is: Happy is life. Happy might be for hobo's, but I don't care. Let me be a hobo then. (that was a Neophyte reference)....
DJ A.K.'s latest mix isn't just your standard Happy Hardcore mix: it's Happy Hardcore, but slightly harder and faster. Doesn't that make it your bog standard 'Hardcore' then? Not really, as the happy elements are still there, so it's still classed as Happy Hardcore. And that's what makes this so great. A blend between 'Hardcore' and 'Happy'. Couldn't wish for anything else.
We had some amazing producers back in the day, and what they made was tremendously good. Some might look down upon what they created, but I look at it with a lot of respect and admiration. I know you secretly like these anthems too, deep down inside. And you know they will do a lot of damage on the dancefloors.
I always liked the harder side of Happy Hardcore, and this mix is just what I needed to hear. A.K. always delivers, never disappoints. But which 23 records did he pick? Will these bring a smile on your face too?

Happy Hardcore will never die. And that's a statement. I am now in my 40s and still trying to move this body around like it's nothing, whilst listening to Happy Hardcore. And I'll do the same when I'm 80, but the movements will be highly restricted due to wear & tear. At least my head will be bopping.
A.K.'s selection is insane. It's like he went inside of my head, and picked the records I love the most. And they are these records (well, maybe 95% of these records are in my all-time favourite list). But what I do love the most is that there's a distinctive indication who dominated the Happy Hardcore scene in the 90s: Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo, Bass-D & King Matthew, Weirdo & Sim... you could not go wrong when these all stepped up and produced these anthems. You knew you were going to be amazed.
Obviously the biggest Happy Hardcore hit ever made has to be 'Go Get Busy'. That was such a big hit, it dominated the world. And as much as I love this record, I do have to give it to 'My Little Fantasy'. This version has been in many mixes that I've listened to over the years, and always came out on top. Therefore, I have to conclude that this record is the best Happy Hardcore anthem EVER made. Agree or disagree?
Another splendid mix by A.K. He just keeps on making these beautiful mixes. Worth my time, and if you aren't following him yet, worth your time (and a follow) too.
Side note: this mix was recorded on my birthday! I do feel like it's A.K.'s present to me, so thanks for this mix. Nothing can top this present, that's for sure.
