Yes, you have read the title of this mix correctly. It's going to be something different today. Not my standard harder style music or music made after 1990, but this time we go back in time, to the decade I was born in. 1983, the year of our Lord, was the year the world was blessed to get me. Get me? That sounds a bit wrong, but you know what I mean. I was born in the 80s, and lived throughout most of it. And it was a blessing in disguise. Most kids will not experience what most of us have in the 80s. It was such a colourful decade, with a lot of highs and lows, but generally speaking, life was a tad easier. Still rough, but not as rough as it is nowadays (those are just my views).
I was also a nipper. And looking back at your childhood, you always look back in a happy way. Life was easier, happier, and no social media to destroy us. We had simple computer games, toys in general, colourful clothing, and more powerful music. The 90s were great too, but the 80s are still much better, when it comes to the music. It's my guilty pleasure, 80s music. And will you believe it? That's also the title of this mix.
I have turned into my parents over the last couple of years. From listening to pop music on the radio, I started to ditch this, and go back in time. I started listening to radio stations who only play 80s and 90s music. I have turned into my parents, properly. And even on journeys throughout Europe, I would play saved 80s and 90s mixes from Soundcloud, and the one you are about to listen to, is one of those.
The 80s music is just so much better. Sometimes cheesier, but they have become all time classics, right? And the DJ behind this mix, Mister Shifter, collected a handful of records, and made it into a Guilty Pleasure mix. And they are certainly guilty pleasure songs.

The love I've got for 80s music, I simply cannot describe. It's the music I grew up with, and I feel blessed to have lived in a decade when music was awesome. Yes, the world might have been a different place, and certainly not everything was happy and free of violence/hatred/racism/discrimination/war/and more, but at least the music kept us a bit happy.
I was a young lad, and if you've ever seen pictures of me taken in the 80s, you know I was a happy lad. And the music, to me, suited me perfectly. And this mix has got a few classics in here. It makes me happy, in 2023, sitting here, thinking back of my childhood. It's a good selection of tracks.
You might not have been born in the 80s, or unfamiliar of the music from the 80s. If you aren't at the stage yet where you are becoming your parents, and you are interested in hearing what was played at the clubs and discos all over the world, check out this mix.
I can't pick a favourite. Too many choices, too many options.
Just sit back and enjoy this mix that will take you back in time.
