I was a huge fan of Charly Lownoise and Mental Theo during the 90s! Like, massive! I was so into their music, I bought every single of every song they released. I consider myself a huge fan, but then you are woken up by a Soundcloud channel called 'History Of Happy Hardcore', and you realise all of a sudden that they are bigger fans of them. I've never made any mixes at all, celebrating their music. I just raved. And what HOHH have done, is made the ultimate mixtape.
And when I say ultimate, I do mean ultimate. I've not come across such a wicked tracklist before. So many flashbacks to the 90s. This is when TCD was a wee lad, and danced in his underwear. Or tried to dance: it was more hakkuh, which most of the other friends didn't appreciate. But I couldn't care less. I was having a blast, with two of the finest DJs and producers out there, supporting me through my childhood.
I've bought a lot, and know a few exclusive records by these two, but HOHH have dug deep and found even more exclusive records, ones I haven't even heard before! And that's something I would never thought would happen. Of course they picked the most well known records, but there are shit loads in here you wouldn't expect!

HOHH, thank you so fucking much! I did throw away most of my compilation recently, and I'm gutted I threw away many CDs I should have kept. Including their best of album. But nothing is lost, I've got this absolutely epic mix! And it does contain the happiest of happiest tunes ever made in them. Maybe a tad cheesy, but fuck it, let's have a ball!
They are in HOHH Hardcore Hall Of Fame, and in mine too! They might have made some extremely shitty Happy Hardcore tunes (like the Christmas song, that's was tremendously bad), but on the other hand, they did make my youth special. And so many unforgettable tunes followed after they were created during the early 90s.
Where would we have been without them? I don't know. And I can't picture a world without them. It just doesn't make any sense. Why? Well, because they were anthem makers. Look at these quality tunes in this mix! You cannot deny the fact that you have been singing or humming along when you heard the memorable tunes such as 'Wonderfull Days', 'Stars', 'Fairytales', 'The Bird', etc.
Which record is the best one? It's the one I'd not heard before: 'Get Free'. This is the ULTIMATE Happy Hardcore anthem! This is just perfect, just enough cheese and dirtiness to make it worth your time. This has blown my mind. How come I've not heard this one before? I'm ashamed!
