You all know that I like to dig around to find hidden gems. Most of the times I don't even need to do anything for it: Soundcloud's algorithm already gives me all that I need to hear. But sometimes I don't want AI to tell me what I need to hear (willingly or unwillingly). I decided to go on the hunt myself, and boy, have I found a mix for you! A Happy Hardcore mix, made by Casketkrusher back in 2012, released on Arcade and ID&T! That's a joke, we all know that, but for a split second you were thinking 'did Casketkrusher really do that?'. And to be fair, it would be fitting: he does some amazing stuff in regards to Happy Hardcore. He's one of the few that keeps the sound alive. But no, he hasn't made an album and released it on Arcade and ID&T's joint label venture. Those days are long gone.
But you might be wondering where I found this mix? Well, I quickly scanned Soundcloud to see if this existed, and I could be wrong or right in saying that this mix isn't on there. You can only find it when you put your Inspector Gadget hat on, and start digging. And once you do, you find a website that was made by Casketkrusher himself, and I don't think it's been updated since 2013. There are a few mixes on there you also find on his Soundcloud page, but this specific Happy Hardcore one, I did not see. Maybe I'm a tad blind, but surely Casketkrusher must be able to confirm or deny the mix's existence on Soundcloud?
Now you might be thinking 'what's so special about this mix?', and it's a good question to ask. One that only a handful of people will understand. Whenever I see the title 'Happy Hardcore' written anywhere, I am always a tad suspicious in regards to the tunes selected. Or they aren't Happy enough, or they are the top 40 shit tunes. Or they aren't Happy Hardcore at all, but for a strange reason get this label attached to it. But I do never find the perfect mix containing the tracks I consider Happy Hardcore, until today.
To me the Happy Hardcore collection released on Arcade and ID&T joint venture label, has always been my go-to collection, if I'm feeling peckish, and want some Happy Hardcore. I know I might be a tad biased in regards to Casketkrusher's mix, but I simply can't let this mix go by, and not tell you about it. He has, and I do thank him for it, used records that I simply adore. He has, and this is a personal opinion, made a perfect Happy Hardcore mix.
So here is the tracklist. You will see what I mean when I talk about Happy Hardcore: this is what I consider Happy and good enough for me!

Megamix: Outro
I would say that I do find this mix particularly sexy, but I cannot say that in 2020. The world has changed, and so have mankind. But I do find the records selected by Casketkrusher really endearing. I do get warm feelings inside when I see a mix that contains classic Happy Hardcore classics. This, ladies and gentlemen, is proper Happy Hardcore. Be educated by this mix.
Some of these anthems I even forgot about! Some I also genuinely tried to forget about, seeing as I'm over the hype surrounding them, but in general this mix still rocks, and it rocks HARD. It's nice to see a mix that contains these legendary anthems.
The tracks are excellent (only a handful are a bit 'meh'), the mixing is also OK. Not perfect, it still contains a few errors, some small, but some quite big. It's still a great listening experience for those that love Happy Hardcore, and those that aren't aware of what it truly is, and want to investigate it.
It was difficult to only pick one record, and even thought it wasn't played at it's full potential, but Gab's 'You Better Watch Yourself' is still an all-time Happy Hardcore classic.
A mix worth checking out. Is this Casketkrusher's finest mix? Not his finest, but certainly one that needs to be praised a bit more. Maybe he can even do an updated version of this mix? But please, we need more Happy Hardcore like this!!!
There's no player available, but maybe Casketkrusher might upload this to his Soundcloud page, and once he does, I'll share the fuck out of it.
