It's Sunday evening, and most of us had a wonderful weekend. The weekend has unfortunately flown by quicker than anything else. For me, the weekend was a bit of a mixed bag. A lot of travelling, but in the end I felt satisfied, as I got a lot of shit done this weekend. Proud to have a weekend coming to an end, it's time to celebrate the end of yet another week, and the start of another. And even though weekends come and go, they always feel far behind of way ahead of us, too far away. Let's hope this mix gets us through the week.
If you are older than 24 years, you might remember a CD series called D.Trance (or D-Trance). I've said it in a previous review (which was also for a mix made by Audioholik, that I've never owned a D.Trance CD. I've seen them everywhere back in the noughties, but never purchased one. Hell, I think my local CD store still has a few copies. Maybe it's because my focus was more on Dutch Hardstyle and Hardcore music, and Hard Trance wasn't my main focus? I don't know though.
The previous mix was focussed on Gary D., the man behind this CD series, but now it's just focussed on the compilation series, which seems to be ongoing, to this day. But Audioholik chose records from the years 1999 to 2004. 5 whole years to choose from, and he chose 14 Hard Trance anthems.
I started to listen to this mix yesterday, and was blown away by the Hard Trance sounds from the early days. I do miss this Hard Trance sound a lot. They don't make them like they used to, right?

This is a very solid mix with some serious anthems. I am not kidding. Unless you are too young to remember, these went down well in clubs and parties all over Europe, especially the clubs I went to. Hands in the air, and go it your all. 200% would be the minimum you would give on the dancefloor.
This certainly gave me enough energy to get me going. What a smashing mix with awesome records I've not heard a lot of in the last few years. They have flown undetected, under the radar. But they should get more airtime, they are to be played more and more. These are the anthems I fell in love with, and danced to. Yes, can you believe it, I actually went to raves back in the day?! Highly unbelievable.
Audioholik has made yet another wicked mix, and when 'Slave To The Rave' hits, it hits me in the feels. You know, deep down inside. You start feelings things you cannot describe. That's one amazingly produced record that wouldn't be amiss at a massive party such as Mysteryland, Sensation, Innercity or more. But the best it would suit at the Loveparade.
This is a trip down memory lane, and hopefully an indication to the younger generation out there, proof that we knew how to party and that we had the best tunes out there, by far. We created the raves, so you should learn from us!
All jokes aside, go and listen to this mix. A wicked one. Thanks Audioholik for giving us enough energy to get us through the week.....
