Haunting Trance (Classics) #1 (2024)

Let's end the year on another high. Earlier today I reviewed a very pleasant sounding Techno mix, and now we are to venture into the wonderful world of Trance. The last review of 2024, that's something special. But what a mix to end the year with. This one was made by Trance Mam, and even though it sends out Halloween vibes, it's not that haunting though. Don't be afraid. We are on this journey together, so you won't be alone. Don't be afraid of this mix, as it will enlighten you and bring you to the stratosphere, way above Earth.

I've seen a few of her mixes, but never listened to one. Well, not as far as I can remember. But today is the day, and what an honour it is to use this mix as the last one of the year. Part one of this series, and as misleading as the title might be, the songs she has selected are actually haunting us in our dreams. These are the biggest anthems from back in the day. And I'm not kidding: just have a look at the tracklist and you'll see what I'm on about.

I've had this mix on for a while now, and it's glorious. It's only been a day on Soundcloud, but I've been on it like a car bonnet. This mix has been on repeat, and I freaking love it. The selection of tracks is great, and the songs themselves are fabulous. And they are big hits. I do mean big. Not just dancefloor big, but massive event big. You know, if you were at an event, these are the anthems they would play, and thousands of ravers would loose their minds.

It's a great selection, and I'm now sharing it with you all:

  1. Alanis Morissette - Uninvited (Brothers In Rhythm Mix)

  2. Delerium - Innocente (Tiesto Remix)

  3. John Con vs Nicola Gala feat Parasma - Swing To Harmony

  4. Reflekt feat Delline Bass - Need To Feel Loved

  5. Gareth Emery feat Christina Novelli - Concrete Angel

  6. Andain - Beautiful Things

  7. Gouryella - Anahera

  8. Lustral - Everytime (Nalin & Kane Remix)

  9. Jan Johnstone - Flesh (Tiesto Mix)

  10. Brainbug - Nightmare (Sinister Strings Edit)

  11. Armin van Buuren - Shivers (Rising Star Mix)

See, told you the tracks were amazing. It might not be a very long tracklist, with only 11 tracks, but those 11 are what make the difference. They are all solid. And even ''Concrete Angel'' fits in well (I disliked this record for quite some time).

Trance Mam has made a very cool sounding mix, and to start with Alanis Morissette, that's interesting. Completely forgot this track even existed. But it's hit after hit, and it's all carefully mixed together. So many epic anthems. You could play this mix instead of listening to whatever is on the radio now? Just saying.

I thoroughly enjoyed this mix, and it has been on repeat, and will be on repeat for a while. Serious anthems. Can't complain about anything.

Best record? Oh, that's tricky. There are three equally sounding tracks. Not meaning they sound the same, but to my ears they are gorgeous sounding, and all on the top 1 position. Guess which ones? Well, that's tricky for you to do, but here they are: ''Innocente'', ''Anahera'', and of course ''Shivers''.

A solid mix. Have a wonderful NYE with this blasting through your speakers instead of those TV programs or radio shows no one cares about. Put this on, and dance the night (and 2024) away!
