I have to be honest with you all: I've never owned a Hed Kandi/Hedkandi CD ever, but I do know of their existence. I do remember, seeing these at every CD store in the Netherlands, when I was still living there. But something stopped me from purchasing these CDs. I always thought that the covers looked so cheap, and maybe that's the reason why it stopped me from spending euros on it? The cover was one of the selling points for me, back in the day. It needed to grab my attention, and made me turn the disc around, and these unfortunately never made me look. Yes, I am ashamed.
And still, to this day, I have not heard a Hedkandi mix before. I always seem to have skipped each one I saw, maybe for the same reason I didn't purchase these albums before? But today is a different day; me and the wife are WFH, and we need to hear something that moves us a bit. She can't stand the harder stuff I listen to, so Disco House it is. And she seems to appreciate it. Well, let me rephrase that: she's not complaining.
Today is the day I am going to be fully emerged into the world of HedKandi/Hedkandi/Hed Kandi, or however you want to spell it. And my first impression is good. The tracklist looks good, even though these versions of these anthems aren't known to me, I'm willing to give it a go. I am willing to sit here, for an hour, and just let it all happen.

This has been an interesting hour of my life. The music was great. Not what I was expecting. As mentioned before, this CD series never caught my eye, and in my head it was never something I was going to listen to, but today was the day I did listen to it, and I'm grateful that I did.
I don't get the chance and go back in time, but if I did, I would certainly listen and purchase at least a few of these albums. The music is truly great. Well, at least the songs selected for this mix. But I'm guessing this mix could represent the brand Hedkandi? Any Hed Kandi fans out there could you respond please? Is this mix a good representation to what this brand had to offer since the early 2000nd?
I really loved the easy listening vibes. This Disco focussed sound is awesome. It's nice, mellow, and relaxing. I'm still a noob, but I do have to say that this mix, made by Glen Horsborough, it has made me think twice. And after a quick browse online, there's a plethora of mixes dedicated to this brand, so I could invest some time and learn more about HedKandi, and all the things I've missed.
Best record? 'Rise'. I've seen them live in 2000, and it's one of those songs that will stay in your head for hours!
