There's a lot of things Italian do better. Food? Yes. I am a pizza enthusiast, but also a boring one, as I always go for the best of the best (pepperoni). Pastas, they are good at doing those. But only a handful of people will know that they were actually great in making Hardstyle music, when it was a 'new' thing. When was that? Well, around the beginning of the Millennium years. If you are into that kind of music, and you love the 'early' stuff and you agree with Iridium DJs statement that Italians do it better, you are going to be very happy.
I have listened to many records before, and this isn't the first Iridium DJ mix I am listening to, but this mix is slightly different. Not only is it focussed on early Hardstyle and the songs being produced by Italians, it's also three producers which the focus lies here with. Activator, Hexadrome, and Jim Noizer. Without sounding silly, I've only heard of Activator. Jim Noizer sounds someone's nickname on Hyves, CU2, or any social media platform from the early days. And Hexadrome sounds like a tool you definitely need to have in your tool box.
I am not ignorant, I am fully aware that there are a lot of producers out there, I've just never encountered these two before. Well, I have still much to explore. Mixes like this one always highlight to me that I know nothing. But I'm not too old to ignore. Eager to learn, happy to listen.
And today I needed that oomph. On a Friday we always finish at 1:20pm, and our garden looked a bit of a mess, so gardening happened. With that Italian Hardstyle it made it all worth wile. And I was done quicker than ever before!
Wish this mix could get rid of my hay fever. Haven't stopped sneezing since. Fuck hay fever.

Seriously, I am impressed. I've not heard of Hexadrome, or Jim Noizer before, but the songs do sound kind of familiar. Maybe I have encountered them before, but never acknowledged their names?! Who knows.
From the first to the last second, it is a wicked mix. That Italian Hardstyle sound is just so awesome. But that first record, that's the killer. That's the one that does the most damage. It's a wicked introduction is what's about to happen, and it certainly grabs your attention, and makes you move. What a brilliant record.
Iridium DJ has done it again. A fantastic mix, a powerful one. A nostalgic trip down memory lane, when Hardstyle sounded nothing like it does nowadays. And I've mentioned it before, the early Hardstyle sound always does something more to me than the present day Hardstyle. Maybe it's because I've grew up with it? Who knows.
Go and explore this mix. Go down that rabbit hole and experience what most of us listened to back in the day. A brilliant mix. Yet again!
