Knightvision. The Knight of Vision. Who doesn't recognise that legendary Hardcore lyric? If you grew up in the 90s, you knew of Knightvision. It might have been a mystery who was behind this alias, but it turned out to be DJ Ruffneck himself. Well, not really a shocker, as this sound can be contributed to Ruffneck. And with his darker style, he got a lot of people's attention. The Knightvision was here to stay. And this darker sound led to probably the best Hardcore song of all time...
''Apocalypse''. That, to me and many, is certainly one of the coolest anthems of all time. But Knightvision was so much more. This Artcore style appealed to many, and have spawned many new artists who tried to copy his style, but never could. Knightvision was unique, and rougher. And exactly what we needed. But not the biggest name in Ruffneck's alias collection. Not one to be underestimated though.
I had to double check on Discogs, how many records were released under this alias. And there weren't many. But it's not the quantity, it's the quality. And the mix you're about to listen to, isn't long either, and hasn't got 1000 records crammed into 30 minutes. 12 records, 40 minutes. Calorific created this mix in either 2024 or 2025, and it was reposted by the legend himself, Ruffneck. So it was worth it, spending 40 minutes on this Knightvision mix, right?

This has put a smile on my face. Even though I miss 'Apocalypse', it is still a damn good mix with some big hits. And of course it had to have 'Knight Of Visions' and 'Who Is It'. Those songs appeared literally everywhere. But that's how influential Knightvision was. Or, let's give credit where it's due, Ruffneck. What a legendary producer he is!
They don't make them anymore like this. Maybe Ruffneck still does, but only he can do it the Knightvision way. If anyone ever had a doubt in their mind, not knowing who was behind this alias... come on. This is so Ruffneck-ish. The King of Artcore. And what an art it was. Maybe too underrated back in the day, but he is slowly getting more recognition for his work. And the Knightvision project was certainly a solid one.
Not a fan of one track in this mix though. 'The Search Of Mariuhana'. Never liked the Ratpack song anyway, I find their vocals kind of lame. Without the vocals it might have worked. But not my favourite record by Knightvision.
What is my favourite... that's tricky. But to me it's the third track, titled 'The Dynamo Of The Universe'. The lyrics are kind of dark, and so is the track. Love it.
A solid mix, and worth your time. If you get the artist to repost your mix, that's a solid one. Enjoy it as much as I have! And remember, the Knight of Visions, is like a dark nightmare, and let's stick to reality.... (those are the lyrics, right?)
