It's Thursday, and we are a bit closer to the weekend. And I'm not WFH, but in the office. And when I do go to the office, I always try and squeeze in an hour in the gym, just to release the tension, and maybe gain some physical changes (which are really required imho). Yesterday I was a tad tired, and needed something hard and rough to get me through the session. I stumbled upon this mix a few days ago, and have saved it to listen to it at a later stage, and yesterday was the day. I pressed play, and within seconds I was already reaching my own limits, and nearly destroying the cross trainer and the bicycle... why? Well, the music made my heart pump faster and I had energy for 10 people!
As you could have guessed, it's filled with Hardcore music. The mix was made by someone called Music Pollution. Which, funnily enough, is what most people around me think about my musical preferences. Especially Hardcore, because according to them it's rubbish. Well, I couldn't give a flying fish fuck about their opinions. For me it was the right kind of music to get me hyped up between 4 and 5pm in the gym.
Don't know much about Noise Pollution, but what I do know is that this mix is quite energising. It gives you the right amount of power, and even though it's a mix where most tracks are made by Angerfist, Tha Playah, or Miss K8, it's still good enough. I couldn't care less, as long as my headphones were at maxed out volume and the bass is coming through my ears.
But the main question today is, which tracks did Noise Pollution use? Well, these ones:
Angerfist - The Other Side (Extended Mix)
Miss K8 & Angerfist - Act On Impulse (Extended Mix)
Nosferatu & Angerfist - Sinister Connection (Extended Mix)
Miss K8 - Icebreaker (Nosferatu Extended Mix)
Nosferatu - Adagio For The Wicked (Extended Mix)
Angerfist & Miss K8 - Madrid
Miss K8 - Inspire (Extended Mix)
Miss K8 - The Last Spartan (Extended Mix)
Miss K8 & Nolz - Eclipse (Extended Mix)
Tha Playah - The Illest (Extended Mix)
Tha Playah - Be Cool (Extended Mix)
Tha Playah - My Misery (N-Vitral Extended Remix)
Miss K8 & D-Sturb - Dope Shit (Extended Mix)
Miss K8 & Nolz - Raiders Of Rampage (2022 Refix) (Extended Mix)
Dither & Nolz - Shockwave (Extended Mix)
Miss K8 - Temper
Miss K8 - Hardcore Generation
Miss K8 & N-Vitral - We Like To Slaughter (Extended Mix)
Nosferatu - When The Devil Knows Your Name (Extended Mix)
This is a great looking tracklist, and it's carefully selected by Noise Pollution. A good selection of tracks that can be seen as dancefloor smashers. And also a few extremely new(ish) track that will certainly put a smile on your face.
I've not listened to Miss K8's CD yet, but I certainly will. This mix has sparked my interest in this mix, and I've now have a found interest in her CD. Especially after hearing 'The Last Spartan'. What a track! And it's got the most famous bit in fil in film history, right? Gerard Butler's portrayal is so damn good, and his voice suits this song extremely well. But also Angerfist's latest track, oh so glorious!
I can talk for hours, but I won't. This mix has got everything you need to hear, and is carefully mixed together. Really enjoyed this mix, and my reintroduction into the present day Hardcore. Been away from it for a while, and that's because I was more focussed on the old school style, but now I'm back, and I'm loving it.
A solid mix. Check it out!
Ps. it turns out to be that the artist wasn't called Music Pollution, but Mind Control. Apologies!
