It is an important day in the UK. If you are interested, you could be watching the coronation of King Charles. If that's your cup of tea, keep on watching it. But for me, it isn't my cup of tea. But instead of watching it, I'm doing something that I really like to do instead: review mixes. And there's a mix I had ready about a week ago, but just completely forgot. Oh, and also: I had family come over from the Netherlands, so it would have been slightly rude to just review when they were here. But now they are gone, the house is mine again, and the speakers are on max!
But what kind of music is in this mix? Well, if you have seen the image above this review (the one with Yoda in it), you've probably seen the title of this mix. Yes, it's Oldskool Hardcore/Techno/Rave mix, with anthems from 1990 to 1992. How's that for a replacement of the coronation, if you aren't feeling that?
This ain't my first Mickey B/Beam mix, and it will not be the last. And it's a very fresh and exciting mix. Only uploaded a few days ago, so it's still fresh. And if it's right up your street, why not have a go and go back in time. Listen to the big anthems from the forgotten years 1990 to 1992.
It's a short but big mix. It's got some big anthems in here, but now you would like to know which anthems, right? You want to see the tracklist? Thankfully it came with one. Here it is:
Tech Noise - I Luv U
DJ Rap - Divine Rhythm (Original Mix 1992)
Bitin Back - She's Breaking Up
Destroyer - Senses
Hypersonic - Dance Tones (Stoned Mix)
Two Undercover - Unite
DJ Junk - Keep Climbing
Moby - Go (Rainforest Mix)
Rebel MC, Tenor Fly, Don Gorgon - The Wickedest Sound (Don Gorgon Mix)
ISOTONIK - Everywhere I Go (Fizzy Orange Mix)
Nino - Future Of Latin
Ubik - We Jack The House
Joey Beltram - My Sound
Alex Lee - Take It! (Mr. Oz vs Klepto-Maniacs Remix)
Economix - 5' AD (Economix EP)
Mark One - Hoovers & Spray Cans
Cybersonik - Technarchy
Restless Rockers - Restless
Digital Boy - Gimme A Fat Beat (Frank De Wulf Remix)
Rebel MC feat Little T - Rich Ah Getting Richer (Orchestral Mix)
Cartouche - Feel The Groove (Underground Remix)
Kenny Larkin - Rubbernotes (5th Gear Edit)
Lennie De Ice - We Are I.E.
DJ Rap - Desire
A solid mix! It's been on repeat for a few hours now, and I'm really enjoying myself. It's got a mixture of well known and obscure, underground anthems in it. And I freaking love it.
The previous two mixes by Mickey Beam were also focussed on the early sound. I'm guessing he's really into this style of music, and I don't blame him! I do envy him, as he plays the anthems I do adore, and those I've not come across before. But Mickey, if you are reading this, keep those mixes coming! I need more of these mixes.
I really enjoyed his latest mix. It's filled with bangers! You don't believe me? Look at the freaking tracklist above and prove me wrong! These are truly amazing anthems. Especially Cybersonik's 'Technarchy'. I really love this track from the first time I heard it (which was around 1993/1994).
A wonderful mix. This will give you enough energy to keep you moving through this coronation weekend. It's all mayhem, but at least we've got the music to keep us entertained. And if this one is just what you needed to hear, why not check Mickey's Soundcloud page, there's plenty for you!
