Pure Freeform 3 (Mixed By Substanced) (2019)

Happy Saturday. We are getting closer to the end of lockdown, and that could mean that we are raving soon! Some countries all over the world have already reduced restrictions, and hopefully the UK will follow suit soon. Until then, and it's not long from now, we have to make do with whatever is online. And for all you Freeform fans, I've got a mix you definitely need to check out, if you haven't already. And before you get all pedantic: yes, I am fully aware that this mix was released 2 years ago, and I have saved it under my favourites, but never came around to listen to this yet, and review it. I will never be too late to enjoy music, right?

It could even be that he's already done more than 3 mixes. He could have reached his 27th instalment of this 'Pure Freeform' mix series, and I've completely missed them. I am being a fool here of course, but I am trying to explain why I'm late with reviewing this mix.

Anyway, the mix. I've reviewed the first and the second mix in this series, but now it's time for the third instalment. A lot of good feedback on Soundcloud, and there's good reason why. And even I commented on it. Jeez, it's not looking well for me. I should have reviewed it. Or have I even reviewed this? Shit, I'm not sure now.

Well, let's all focus on the tracks that Substanced used for this mix. Are you ready for the tracklist?

  1. Orkidea - Unity (Substanced Bootleg)

  2. Pain On Creation - Hypnodisc

  3. Rikki Arkitech - AI Danger

  4. Rank 1 - Airwave (Betwixt & Between Bootleg)

  5. Substanced - Jade

  6. Transcend - Reflective Harmony

  7. Substanced - Blue Remembered Earth

  8. Transcend - Existasis

  9. Substanced - Heart Of Time (Kounta Kulture Remix)

  10. Hyphen - Argonaut

  11. Transcend feat Zealous - The Promise

  12. Substanced - Beautiful Black (Carbon Based Remix)

  13. Kokomochi - White Heron

  14. Transcend & Dyzphazia - Tormenting Flames

  15. Sanaas - Beast Out

  16. Alek Szahala - Voices Of Babylon

The mix is as tight as you want it to be, and the records are dope. Seriously dope. Unless you are a hater of Freeform, and in that case, do one. Seriously, how can you dislike Freeform music? It's Trance, but faster, harder, and sometimes better. You freaking idiot.

Substanced is a well known figure in the Freeform scene, and much respected for his productions, and in this mix you can find a few of his own productions in here, but also a few by other producers such as Transcend, Rikki Arkitech, Alek Szahala, and more. All well respected and much loved producers.

I think the main reason why I am drawn toward this mix is the fact that in this specific mix there's a record so good, it has become everything I want to hear in a Freeform track. It takes you all the way to Heaven and back. It's of course 'Jade', Substanced biggest floor filler ever. Disagree? Well, bite me. This record has got literally everything right, and it gets the crowd going. Such an underrated record, it deserves so much more respect!

Obviously the other 15 records are great, but not as great as 'Jade'. But close enough though. I've not heard one track in this mix which I hated or disliked, or even felt sorry for. 16 amazing dancefloor smashers. I can't wait to get back raving, and hopefully we can all do it safely, and sound.

Just a few more weeks until we are back dancing. Until then, let Substanced take you on a journey through the beautiful style called Freeform!! Epic mix, as usual!
