Back in 2023, to be precise, the 8th of December, Rooler played 5 hours long, at the Bootshaus, in Cologne. He was the only artist to play that night, so the focus was around this legendary DJ and producer. And to have a party dedicated to you and what you do, is really awesome. Don't see that happen very often, but when it does happen, you know it's going to be great. Rooler, 5+ hours playing Hardstyle music, ranging from 2000 until 2023. That's just awesome, right?
Unless you dislike Rooler. There aren't many people out there who dislike Rooler. I am not one of them. I discovered him many years ago. I think it was a Ground Zero promo mix I found, and I fell in love with it. That 'early' Rooler sound cannot be beaten. But he's been working very hard with his own brand, Aggressive Records and AR Gang, alongside someone called Sickmode (might have heard of him). He's been very active, and he has gained a lot of new fans. Fans willing enough to pay money to see him, and only him, perform at this club in Germany.
And if you want to know what it looked like, you can watch it all back on YouTube. Or if you are a Soundcloud fanatic (like me), you just want the raw music. And that's exactly what you are going to get. Credits to the organisers for having Rooler on his own, and for the fans, for making the night very special for him. And Rooler for being able to do such a long set.

This is one hell of a trackilst, and it must have been magical, being there, experiencing all this madness. And if you love Rooler, you will have thoroughly enjoyed it, I bet. 5+ hours, 128 records. You couldn't ask for more. And it's also a trip down memory lane, for all of us. Going back to our Hardstyle roots.
It is impressive, and I've seen many awesome records in this mix. I'm more of a Soundcloud fan, so if you are interesting in watching how the event went, I've also put the YouTube video below. But if you aren't bothered, you can just click the Soundcloud player below.
I love the trip down memory lane, but obviously the main focus lies with the DJ himself, Rooler, and he plays a lot of his stuff. And they are really awesome records. Not all of them, there are a few 'meh' records, but if that's what the crowd wants to hear, then that's cool.
The main question here is, what do I prefer? The early Hardstyle songs, or the Rooler era? That's tricky, as I do like Rooler and the current Rawstyle direction he is taking us on. But I'm an oldskool sucker, and prefer the early stuff. 'Ti Sento' anyone? Hear that song, and I loose my freaking mind!
Still an awesome achievement, slightly ruined by the unnecessary MCs, and a few 'meh' songs. But I would have sold my only working kidney to be there. Well, can't go back in time, eh?
