It is Friday, time to unwind. And with today's mix we are certainly going to unwind. It's yet another mix by Rígur Lárus, and his quirky concept seems to be very appealing to those who have listened to the previous 13 mixes so far. I only discovered him when I spotted the 13th instalment, but he kindly reminded me that there's a new mix out there. And it's called 'Keanu's Busrave'. Does that make any sense whatsoever? No, not really. Do I know the film 'Speed' and have I seen it? Of course I have, I'm an 80s baby, so grew up watching that film. Was it the best film ever? Nah, not really. But it was exciting at the time, and made me cautious, and not jump on the bus that easily.
I did watch the film, and it was kind of awesome. A bus that couldn't go below a certain speed, or a bomb would go off. That was amazing, and Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock did an amazing job. But what has it got to do with this mix? Well, maybe because this mix is intoxicating, as was the film? And that Rígur Lárus, who made this mix, used a snippet of the film as the intro to this mix? You tell me, I wouldn't have a clue.
I think this is one of those quirky mixes you just have to absorb and listen to it. Yeah, otherwise we could be sitting here for hours, discussing the movie 'Speed' and the actors that appeared in it (I keep forgetting the name of the bad guy in this film, such a recognisable face, but the name just slipped out of my head). Just enjoy it, and embrace the silliness

This is a mix with mostly unknown artists and songs. Only M.I.K.E. and Ferry Corsten are known to me, and the rest aren't. But that's great: new names to explore, more to learn.
This mix might have a 'slow' start, but once the music kicks in, the speed is there (see what I did there?). The flow is nice, mellow, and yet enticing enough to get you going. I really enjoyed this mix, and even though the concept is weird, it's weirdly awesome to listen to.
The previous mix was also a weird one, but so delicious. This one tops it though. The songs selected and mixed together are all dope as fuck, Rígur Lárus a name I'm now familiar with, has done it again. A mix that stands out, and doesn't follow the protocol. Different, in a good way. Be unique, and that's when you become the most interesting to me.

Wasn't Speed 2 on a boat? I don't think I ever watched that one to the end, was so damn stupid. And knowing Hollywood, Speed 3 must be coming soon? Keanu in a cab, trying to save the world?
