I'm a tad confused, but that should not come as a surprise. But it's been on my mind for a few years, maybe a few decades. This set you are about to listen to, which was a set by Simon Underground and The DJ Producer, was it recorded at Thunderdome 2001, or was it a set for ID&T radio, which was broadcasted in 2001? Some sites do state this was a set from Thunderdome 2001, and others state it was for ID&T's own radio station? I'm confused. I just follow the title of this set as it's published this way on Soundcloud.
I don't think I've been to this Thunderdome. Not a 100% sure, as some events were a blur. That might be because of the amount of alcoholic beverages consumed by yours truly. I do remember finding this set on a dodgy website somewhere, and playing it over and over again on a simplistic MP3 player. Well, those were the years of sharing through unofficial channels, right? Please don't tell me I was the only one?
How else would I be able to listen to ID&T radio? I lived in the Southern part of the Netherlands, and as far as I can tell, we had no reception whatsoever. So we were buggered.
But all in all, this has been one of my most listened to downloaded set of all time. There's so much brutal force in this set, nothing that can be competed with. Even the current Hardcore sound isn't as dark as noughties Hardcore. Just have a listen to this, and share your opinion.
Also, 23 years after its release, I have finally found a tracklist that goes alongside this mix! I am so happy!

Come on, where do you find these records? This is probably the most obscure set I've come across in decades. This set is composed of records you won't find anywhere else. Name me one mix that has more than one of these records in it.
I always loved the darker tone of Simon Underground and The DJ Producer. This set embraced the 'new' sounding Hardcore which ID&T was pursuing. It didn't pan out that way, but at least we had a few years in which the darker side of Hardcore took over our worlds. You either loved it or hated it, and for the most part I didn't like it that much, but why did this set work for me? Maybe because of these specifically chosen records. They seemed to work for me. Don't know why.
The intro is brutal, and from that moment on, it goes to the darkest depths of Hell. Simon Underground and The DJ Producer do take us on a journey through Hell, and we come out at the other end, bewildered and flustered. And a very sweaty mess. How can you sit still? Move your f**king ass, right now! Get up and RAVE.
I still love this set. One of my all time favourite. A set I would listen to, whenever I want to go 'back in time'. These two legendary producers and DJs did do a tremendous set, and it still stood the test of time. Go ahead, and give it a go.
Best record? Oh, very tricky, as I've got two: 'Judgement Day' and 'Moove'. What are your favourite records from this set, recorded at Thunderdome 2001 or not....
