The 90s. A decade which we all love and admire. It is filled with a ton of excellent records, and the majority are still considered classics to many. You cannot turn on the radio and not hear the same tunes over and over. The 90s were influential, and I am glad to have lived in that decade. And of course, I did go out most nights toward the end of the 90s, and I'm glad that I did experience those epic nights, with DJs presenting to us the finest tunes money could buy.
DJ Thumpa, a regular to this page, has made a brand spanking new mix, filled with 90s Dance Anthems. And first of al, the image above looks good. Really ace. Loving the colours. Secondly, I have been following this man for many years, and I'm not sure if he's done a mix like this one before. He's done everything else: from Freeform to UKHC, from Drum & Bass to Jungle, but a 90s Dance mix?
Don't expect the underground anthems. Expect the tunes you already know, love, and probably hear at least once a week, on the radio, or somewhere else. But we don't hear them that often. We need to hear those anthems more often, wouldn't you agree? This is the kind of music that makes us happy and cheerful, and from the first second of being at work this morning til now, I have had this mix on repeat, and I'm loving life. Big smile on my face.
Obviously the 90s is filled with a lot of records, but which ones did Thumpa select?

It might be very windy outside, but only thing that is blowing me away, is this mix. Thumpa has selected 26 records, and put them all in this nearly 2 hour long mix. And within a few days, the plays have gone up exponentially. People seem to love the 90s and Thumpa's mix, and that's all because it's a good one.
I grew up with all these records. There was no way of escaping these records, as they were everywhere. They even introduced songs into adverts, so it would become the norm to hear these not only on the radio, in the clubs, but see them also in ads.
I always look back to the 90s with fond memories. The music was indeed great, and very good. And of course, me being an 80s baby, I prefer the 90s over the current radio dross that can be heard. I am not saying that ALL 90s songs are great. Hell, we went through phases where quality wasn't present, but quantity. Thankfully Thumpa only selected the finest records he could find.
I might be a cliche, but I'm selecting 'Ripgroove' as my favourite song in this mix. It is still a belter, a fantastic track. It is one that will still demolish eardrums and dancefloors, all over the world, and makes people dance like they've never danced before.
A solid mix. I hope Thumpa does more of these mixes. I thoroughly enjoyed this 2 hour journey back in time.
