J.O.E. is back! Yes he's back with a mix that has the potential to make many people happy. For me this mix makes me happy due to the tracks used for this mix, but some it might be because it's an ode to the Vibealite nights, when they would host the Tomorrows World Techno nights, at this club called Venue 44 in Mansfield. J.O.E. wanted to capture that feeling again, with a nice mixture of Hard Trance and Hardcore, and the result is this nearly 90 minute long mix, with some serious slammers.
And when I say slammers, I do mean slammers. I grew up in the 90s with the hardest anthems coming at me through my 'my first Sony' walkman headset. Yes, I am that old. I grew up absorbing cassettes, and they all had these awesome tunes on them. Well, more the Hardcore anthems, Hard Trance only became a thing in my life at a later stage. The 90s for me were dominated by Hardcore.
J.O.E. has probably captured that night beautifully. I can imagine it, how it would have been. I did not go, unfortunately, as I was too damn young, and didn't live in the UK. I think the age thing would be the main reason though. But there were similar nights in South Limburg, where I grew up. And I've been to a few of those.
The tracks are maybe a bit rough around the edges, but that's just perfect for me. Do not conform to the standard bullshit music, but play whatever suits me. And this suits me the most!

Based upon my own personal experience, I have heard a lot of the tracks in this mix. Especially during the 90s. There were obviously a few more obscure ones I've not encountered before. Maybe they were bigger hits in the UK? Who knows.
But the mix starts off with a brilliant record. And it continues. Hit after hit. And J.O.E. obviously had to play the big hits. Lovely to see Jones & Stephenson, Genaside, Party Animals, Nosferatu and more make an appearance. And it makes the mix slightly better with the big hits.
Am I after the big hits? Am I a sucker for the big hits? Yes and no. I was going to pick 'Used & Abused' as my favourite, as it was the biggest hit for the Party Animals (imho). But then J.O.E. played 'Demonhead', and I knew straight away that this was going to be my favourite. Such a demonic anthem. Underrated? Yes, that's for sure. That's when Terror was seen as Satanic music, and I embraced the darker side of Hardcore.
They don't make the tunes like they did back in the 90s anymore. That's a time long gone, but thankfully not forgotten. Bring back the 90s, and relive the cool classics. And if you went to this specific night and experienced it, does this mix bring back memories?
