Trance Rebooted Volume 3 (2017)

It is coming up to 4 years ago since I last reviewed a Trance Rebooted mix by DJ Slipstream. Yes, nearly 4 years. Last time I reviewed one of his mixes was the 31st of March 2019. Can you believe it? I did spot this mix somewhere, and thought 'it's been a while'. Can't even remember if I actually have or haven't done this mix before, as it might have been on the old website, and it being lost forever and ever. But that's cool. We will never know, and it will be a mystery. So let's focus on the third instalment of this Trance Rebooted series, shall we?

We need something calm and soothing. Something nice and relaxing. And voila, here it is. A mix dedicated to Gatecrasher Classics CD. I never had the first CD, but the second one, and I know how good the second one was. So if the second one was good, how good was the first one? You, the reader, have you ever owned the first classics album, and how was it? Any good?

I don't know much about Gatecrasher, so let's dive straight into this mix. It's filled with all these timeless classics, but probably not the versions you are familiar with. Different versions of classic anthems. 17 of them, to be precise. And if you are a Trance lover like yours truly, you will certainly look at this tracklist with a smile on your face, and you might even be interested to hear these 'different' versions of all time classics. And there's a few blinding ones in here!

  1. Y-Traxx - Mysteryland (Psymes Courtyard Mix 2016)

  2. Tiesto - Suburban Train (Jordan Suckley Remix)

  3. Binary Finary - 1998 (Jordan Suckley Remix)

  4. Atlantic Drift - Diving Faces (The 11th Project Classic Mix (Cover Of Liquid Child)

  5. Nalin & Kane - Beachball (Myon & Shane 54 Remix)

  6. Cygnus X - Orange Theme (Allen & Envy Rework)

  7. Paul Oakenfold - Madagascar (Cover of Art Of Trance)

  8. Push vs Dash Berlin - Till The Universal Nation (Christian Ketelaars Mashup)

  9. Ayla - Ayla (Kinetica Remix)

  10. Tilt vs Paul van Dyk - Rendevouz (Thomas Datt Remix)

  11. Three 'n One presents Johnny Shaker - Pearl River (Alex M.O.R.P.H. Remix)

  12. Lustral - Everytime (Paul Thomas, Steve Haines & Shadow Of Two Rework)

  13. Freefal feat Jan Johnston - Skydive (Sophie Sugar Rework)

  14. Quake & Rob Tissera - The Day Will Come (Section 8 Remix)

  15. Solarstone - Seven Cities (Almar Remix)

  16. Balearic Bill - Destination (SAOi Remix)

  17. Katcha - Touched By God (Endorphin System Remix)

A fantastic looking tracklist. And as I've said before, these aren't the standard versions of tracks you are familiar with. Maybe a tad obscure, maybe a tad too different, but still glorious. And the funny thing is, that out of those songs I do recognise, I do love both the versions I already know, and the versions used by DJ Slipstream for this mix.

Some of these songs I've not heard before, but they fit in this mix pretty well. It's a nicely balanced mix, and within the hour and a half, you are taken on a journey through time. Well, more likely back in time, to the golden years of Trance music. And boy, are these tracks great. They fucking are! Slipstream starts with an all time classic track, and it's hit after hit.

I love this mix a lot. I appreciate this mix and the songs selected. Carefully mixed and selected by Slipstream, and the outcome is an hour and a half of pure eargasms. You cannot just listen to this and not acknowledge how great these songs are. They are truly astonishing, and maybe a tad underrated? What's your views on these remixes/reworks etc? Like them or dislike them?

Another brilliant mix by Slipstream. Hopefully it won't take me 4 years to find another one. Time to start checking out his Soundcloud channel again.

Best track? 'The Day Will Come'. Vocals are a bit meh, but the song itself is great!
