Today is Valentine's Day. The whole world will come together, and buy every bunch of roses, and boxes of chocolate. Me? I'm sitting here at home, with a bag of mini carrots. How Hardcore is that, eh? Nah, all jokes aside, me and the wife had a fantastic dinner at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in East London last Saturday. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and if you've forgotten about today, make sure you head to your nearest service station, and get some flowers and chocolates. If, for whatever reason, you can't, maybe you can present Alex Threat's latest mix as an alternative?
This whole mix is focussed around Valentine's day and the love surrounding it. So you can imagine that all the tracks have got a romantic touch to each and every one of them. All UK Hardcore anthems, with a splash of love here and there. Some well known dancefloor anthems, and some I've not heard before. But let Alex take you on this romantic journey, and enjoy these wonderful anthems.
I'm not a Valentine connoisseur, but I know for sure what love is.(OMG sound like the narrator of Love Actually). And as weird as it might seem, UK Hardcore and love go hand in hand, literally. It's one of those styles which works well with vocalists. And boy, do they love romantic lyrics? Compared to the Dutch counterpart, where everything is 'fuck this, fuck that', the UK Hardcore side is a bit more 'soppier' and 'happier'. Love it though.

I am sitting here, alone in my office (wife's at work too, but at work, not at home), and I'm smiling. So blessed to have a wonderful wife who tolerates me for who I am. I should consider myself lucky. There's only one thing that isn't perfect: her love for UK Hardcore, or lack of. It would have been great to play this mix to her when she comes back home, but she's not into UK Hardcore, so I have to get her some flowers and chocolate instead. And if I play this in the bedroom, she would rip of my testicles.
So at the moment I'm enjoying this on my own, and I'm liking the tunes selected by Alex. It's a mixture of well known tunes, and forgotten tunes. And they might sound a tad soppy (love this, love that), but today it doesn't matter. It's all about love, and what you should embrace (the one you love). It's not just the one you sleep with, but also the people you love. Family and friends. Don't be afraid to share the love and happiness today!
Normally I would say some positive and negative things, but today I won't. Yes, this mix has got a few tiny errors, but I will brush them underneath the carpet, and give only praise to Alex. A very nice mix with big anthems.
I have to say that 'Teenage Kiss' was a surprise to hear. Not heard this one before, but it's made me the happiest out of all 19 tracks.
