- Martyna @ Spring Break Outdoor 2019
I could be wrong with the above flyer, but I did not see another flyer for the Spring Break (Your Ass) event. What a name for an event, including body parts in the title of the event. My Italian isn't great, but I'm guessing that it took place on a Saturday, the 18th of May in Italy? Martyna, if you are reading this, can you confirm? Anyway, this is her set, recorded at this event. And as you would expect, it contains the rawest of rawest music. GPF, Warface, Malice, Delete, Frequencerz, etc. You can find it all in here. And Martyna knows exactly what to play to get the crowd hyped up. Her set was only 45 minutes long, but within those 45 minutes she crammed in 23 records. Spotted her at the GPF event, sadly didn't witness her playing, but she's got a promising career ahead of her, if she keeps on playing like this. So, her set. Rawstyle. It's packed to the max with Rawstyle records. It does make me happy when I see not only records from others, but also a few things she has worked on. I'm guessing you are curious now to see the tracklist, yes? 01. Martyna - Maximaal Mashup 02. Jack Of Sound & The Outside Agency - Some More 03. Warface - I Need You 04. Frequencerz - Rockstar (Martyna Refix) 05. Delete & Regain - Shitty Music 06. Delete - Lunatic 07. Caine - Bring The RAW 08. Malice - Brutalized 09. Delete feat Tha Watcher - Payback 10. Warface feat Sovereign King - This Is Vengeance 11. Martyna - Fatality Mashup 12. Rooler - YES! 13. Malice feat Tha Watcher - The Extreme 14. Delete - Take It Back 15. Malice - #ShittyMusic 16. Warface x Malice x Rooler - Watch Your Back 17. Delete - Pulse (Mind Dimension & The Purge Remix) 18. Malice x Killshot - Sledgehammer 19. Warface x Malice - Your Betrayal 20. Delete & Luminite - Crime, Violence & Power 21. Malice - I Am Raw 22. Rooler - Domination 23. Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz x Mizz Behave - I Fucked A Girl Wow. That's a powerful tracklist. It contains everything, and ends on a high note. Or more likely: a piep note. But whatever note you were looking for, you don't need to look far. Martyna has got you covered. I do like her selection. Yes, a lot of reoccuring names, but is that really a bad thing? These artists are on fire at the moment, killing the scene (in a good way). So for Martyna to select these anthems was a no-brainer. Obvious choice. And the result? A banging 45 minutes. If you were at this event, you must have experienced one hell of a set! The ravers there must have left the room all dazed and happy. I cannot find a single bad thing about this mix. It's also a free download, so what are you waiting for? Go jump on the bandwagon and download Martyna's latest mix. If you dig Rawstyle, look no further. - RMB @ Mayday 1994 (The Raving Society)
Another hidden gem for you all on this Sunday morning! RMB live at Mayday in 1994! Who were old enough to rave at this wicked event? I was only 11, so too damn young. And as I said in a previous review (also a Mayday set, from Ilsa Gold), hearing these sets makes you wish you were there. And the good thing about this set is that there's a video on Youtube of their 16 minute long set! How about that? Don't think it's high tech, it's as good as you would expect from a 1994 video. And the sound quality is just appalling. But you get a glimpse of what happened at Mayday. Thousands of ravers losing it. The whistle crew were present, and they went mad through this set. This is a set that gave me goosebumps when I first heard it. Proper 90s Hardcore. And the crowd, gosh, you don't get those recordings anymore. I feel that a set becomes 1000 times better if you have the crowd recorded as well. You will instantly know that they were loving it. Yes, the music is important, but also the crowd. And the crowd at Mayday 1994 were having it. And loved it. I only knew RMB of 'The Place To Be'. Never knew they were the same as the ones who released 'Spring'. So diverse. But in 1994 it was all Happy Hardcore/Hardcore. So sit back and enjoy the set. 01. RMB - Matisse 02. RMB - Experience 03. RMB - Chakka Chakka 04. RMB - Redemption 05. RMB - There's Love 06. RMB - Our Trip To Mururoa 07. RMB - The Place To Be The tracklist is short, but also their set is short. Only 15 minutes long. But within those 15 minutes you go from one high to the next. And ending with what is their biggest record ever (well, for me). The Place To Be. What an absolute monster of a track. Which Thunderdome did it appear on? I remember the cover being a skull of a dog. Was it Thunderdome 4? I never knew they even made Happy Hardcore! This mix has made me rethink music in general. This group, that made the dopest Hardcore track 'The Place To Be', made a few wicked Happy Hardcore anthems? My mind is blown. And they made 'Spring'! Seriously impressed. Their set was recorded, and you will find better quality audio recordings on Soundcloud, but for this I went to the Youtube video. Just to capture the atmosphere. And the atmosphere is good. And the music is just so beautiful! Especially 'Experience'. How come I've not heard this record before? One of the greatest Happy Hardcore anthems of all time! I don't want to continue talking, I want you all to embrace their set. Just press play man, press play! - Slavefriese - Base Hammer - Jason S Mix (2005)
Slavefriese. When I saw this mix being uploaded onto Soundcloud, it grabbed my attention. Why does this name ring a bell? And then it hit me: I did have a few compilations back in the early 00s with Slavefriese records on them. Do I still have those compilations? Nope. Well, I do, but they are on my hard drive. That sadly means that I only get to go on it whenever I'm bored of Soundcloud. But Soundcloud will never be boring, and it will provide me with continuous music, 24/7. And you get to hear forgotten gems, like this mix, made by mixmaster Jason S, back in 2005. Slavefriese, I thought he was Dutch, due to the word 'friese' in his name (Friesland anyone?). But he's German, and he had some successful records back in the early 00s. And what is astonishing, is the sound he created back then! It's a sound I've not heard in a while. It's a mash of several styles, a bit of Techno, a bit of Industrial, a bit of generic Hardcore, a bit of everything. But the main focus is the darker sound of course. I'm not saying I was a huge fan of Slavefriese, but I did like the music he created. Dark was my style during the early 00s. Didn't even know he released his own album! And that Jason S mixed the third disc. That's kind of cool, to be fair. We all know Jason S nowadays as the mix master, but even back in 2005 he killed it! Proper Hardcore, that's what you get on disc 3. Which you can find on Mixcloud (and also Soundcloud). Worth checking out? Yes! 01. Slavefriese - Quiet Intro 02. Slavefriese - Lost In The Vietkong Jungle 03. Slavefriese - On A Trip 04. Slavefriese - As Loud As Possible 05. Slavefriese - Ecstasy Me 06. Slavefriese - Plutonium Crackers 07. Slavefriese - Proper Cooperative Groove 08. Slavefriese - Utopia 09. Slavefriese - Move Your Body 10. Slavefriese - Greed Is Good 11. Slavefriese - When The Music Suck 12. Slavefriese - Hardcore You Know The ScXXX 13. Slavefriese - Base Hammer It was released back in 2005, and this mix is just spot on! This captures the sound which was 'common' back then. Sadly forgotten, but oh so damn good. This was the time before the whole Uptempo scene, this was industrial to the core. But do I prefer this sound? Yes. This was all in line with the time, and Slavefriese's records just hit the nail on the head. It was something new and refreshing. The first thing I noticed was the tracklist. The titles are just so funny. Normally you do get a sense of a specific style (Hardcore in general is a bit harder, and the titles do resemble that), but you've got one record focussed on ecstacy, the other about a base hammer, and plutonium is also thrown into the mix, and let's not forget the Vietkong! Mixes with titles like that cheer me right up. Don't know why. But they do. The music itself is good. It's not the full album, but you get a descent portion of the album. Jason S' mix is spot on, and for 51 minutes he takes you on a Slavefriese journey. There's nothing wrong with this mix. The records are good, the mixing is good. This takes me on a journey back to the early 00s, and I'm loving it. I'm going to check and see if Slavefriese's album is still available. Just, for the sake of it. I want it. - Minus The Crown - Rinse FM Mix - May 2019
Minus The Crown. A new duo in the UK Dance scene. If you look at the picture above and you don't know either of them, you have a lot to catch up on. Minus The Crown are Dougal and Joey Riot. Their latest adventure. I saw the messages a few weeks ago, and started following them, but I thought they were UK Hardcore only, but it turns out I was wrong, absolutely wrong. Joey and Dougal have got years of experience. I don't know how many decades combined, but together they make a successful duo. Both very passionate about music. If you think of UK Hardcore and you need to compose a top 10 list, I bet your ass that at least one of them is in it. Dougal has been on the forefront for decades: he was one of the first to make UK Hardcore massive, and Joey has been successful not just in the UK Hardcore scene, but also the Dutch Gabber scene, as one half of Destructive Tendencies. Was it an obvious choice for these legends to come together? Yes. But does it work out? Well, we are about to find out. On the 27th of May they were on Rinse FM, where Hixxy is a resident DJ. As a guest he had Minus The Crown, and their guestmix is on Soundcloud right now. Is it worth checking it out? 01. Joey Riot & Macks Wolf - Mystic Revolution 02. Re-Con & Squad-E - Why Does My Love (Arkangel Remix) 03. Prime Time Players - Don't Know How Make You Happy (Suae x Technikal Remix) 04. Dougal x Mike Reverie - Supercharged 05. Macks Wolf - Hit Em Like This 06. Da Tweekaz - Tequila (Minus The Crown Remix) 07. Minus The Crown - 4 In The Morning 08. Kelli-Leigh - I Can't Dance (Minus The Crown Remix) 09. Salvatore Ganacci - Horse (Tweekacore Flip) 10. Darren Styles & Dougal - Hold On 11. Minus The Crown - Praise You Minus The Crown 12. CLSM & Cube::Hard - See You On The Other Side (Joey Riot & Elov8 Remix) 13. Gareth Emery - Take Everything (Joey Riot vs Atom, Gee & Mikey P Flip) 14. The Prodigy - Voodoo People (Minus The Crown Flip) This is an unusual tracklist, isn't it? From The Prodigy to Salvatore Ganacci (isn't he the weird DJ from Tomorrowland?), you find everything in here. Including a few of their own collaborations, and also a really big tune I loved from the first moment I heard it. I'll just throw this out there: I'm not a fan of Tweekacore. But that's just a personal opinion. I'm not a fan of their extremely cheesy music. Many are fans, and I'm probably hitting them really hard with my comments about them, but I'm not a fan. I love a bit of cheese, but they are like blue cheese: smelly, and once opened it will stink the fridge out. And it will affect other food in the fridge. Not ideal. Maybe when you are wasted you might like it, but I just don't see the fuss in all their happiness. But what I do like, is Minus The Crown. They've made some good tunes, which you can find in here. But it's not their tracks that got me hyped the most: it has got to be 'Supercharged' that makes me moist the most. I'm loving the vibes, loving the authentic sound. Loving the vibes. Just love it a lot. Besides the Tweekacore tracks, I do like this mix. You get a bit of everything. Hard Dance, UK Hardcore, a bit of bounce, a bit of woop woop. Well, you get my drift. It's not your standard mix, and I love it. It's worth checking out, and also worth following Minus The Crown. - TCD TOP 5 13-06-2019
When I said this was going to be a bi-weekly item, I lied. It turns out I only do it once a month, so let's do this once a month, and if I don't follow it up, then we call it a day. But for now I've got 5 brilliant records from Youtube. The best location (besides Soundcloud) to find music. But this month it's going to be a tad weird, but would you have expected anything else from someone who has the word 'Crazy' in his blog title? Youtube has been my source for excellent music, music from my childhood. I grew up listening to literally everything. Never knew the meaning behind the lyrics (I never listen to the lyrics, must be a weird thing, a medical defect), but the whole picture is what grabbed me. Some records I listened to back then have got a deeper meaning, deeper than I expected. Suicide? Racism? Drug use? Messed up family? You might be wondering what kind of youth I had, listening to this darker music? Well, I think it's normal. But again, it's the whole picture that grabbed me, lyrics never got to me. But in 2019 a few songs hit me, and they hit me hard. Even the Spice Girls were singing about having sex, and I NEVER KNEW! Enjoy June's finest Youtube finds. These are my favourite records. Enjoy them, and hunt for your own favourite records. I'm guessing that Youtube must have a few for you, and it will be nostalgic. 1. PARIS - The Devil Made Me Do It (1990) 2. DJ Buzz Fuzz - Lighthouse Keeper (1998) 3. Rammstein - Mutter (2002) 4. The Horrorist - One Night In New York City (Uncensored) (2000) 5. Korn - Falling Away From Me (1999)
- Kaotic-Ravers Volume 15 Mixed By DJ Brady (2019)
Gosh, how long has it been since I last heard a DJ Brady mix? It must have been a while, at least a few years. Which is obviously a shame. The other day he uploaded his latest mix, the 'Kaotic Ravers' mix, volume 15. I think I got tagged in a post on Facebook, but seeing as Facebook has been kind of a bellend lately and things disappear, I'm not entirely sure. But I'm guessing it was a post related to this mix. No matter what it was exactly, but I'd already discovered the mix on Soundcloud, and today I'm sharing the love for it. The fifteenth instalment of the Kaotic Ravers mix series. I don't know which KR mix I have reviewed before, but I think it was one of the first mixes. So we've come to number 15. What can you expect once you have pressed play? A nice mix containing UK Hardcore, Freeform, Powerstomp, and more. Records I have heard before, and some forgotten or unheard tunes. A nice mix containing records which are on fire. You will understand it if you press play. I dare you to do it! We used to get these kinds of mixes every week. Hell, sometimes every day you would find mixes on Soundcloud, but now it's a rarity. So when mixes like this one appear, it generally makes me happy. Unless the mixing is shit. Or the tracks are shit. But that's not the case here. Tracklist is a must see. So here it is: 01. DJ Brady - Intro 02. Transcend & Cyrax - High Skool 03. Scott Brown - How Many Sukkas (SynthWulf Remix) 04. Scott Brown - Do What Ya Like (Macks Wolf Remix) 05. Doug Horizon - DAW 06. Joey Riot & It-Man - Can't Hold Back (M-Project Remix) 07. Jakazid & DJ Shimamura feat Kyla - Feel The Energy 08. Fracus & Darwin - Floorburn (2017 Mix) 09. Unique - Rock Your Body 10. Joey Riot & It-Man - The Outside 11. CJR feat MC Oddball - Reminisce (Savage Mix) 12. Scott Brown - Commence (Jonny El Mix) 13. Sam B - Get Busy 14. Impact - Love The Music 15. Euphony & TST - Now Massive 16. Riko vs Brady - Pump It Up 17. Fracus - All Night (2017 Mix) 18. Darwin feat Ant Johnson - My Oxygen 19. CLSM - Hook, Line, Sinker 20. Scott Brown - Boomstick (Joey Riot Remix) Wow! So many great anthems in here. A lot Scott Brown records. A lot of Joey Riot records. DJ Brady just made me a happy bloke this Sunday morning! This is a brilliant mix to start off your Sunday morning. It might be chilly and it might be a bit boring, but let's change it all, and raise up the temperature by playing this out loud. I'm not going to bore you all with the weather and the predictions, so let's talk about the mix. DJ Brady has selected a nice bunch of records, and mixed them together in this hour and 13 minute long mix. In a way his mix reminds me of a few years ago, when you would find these everywhere online. Everyone made these mixes. This was the way forward. The music is good. We can all reminisce to the good old sound. Certain songs just sound so damn good, even after a few years. And have become classics. Well, to me. And I also like the fact that, even though he used a few Joey Riot and Scott Brown records, he still made it diverse. Sam B, CLSM, Impact, Unique, Doug Horizon, Riko, etc. You can find everything in here. Small mixing errors, but nothing major. Best record? 'Hook, Line, Sinker'. CLSM. Can't go wrong with CLSM. Get this right now! - Ilsa Gold @ Mayday 1994 - Rave Olympia/Dortmund (30-04-1994)
If there's one party I would have gone to, if I was old enough at the time, it would have been Mayday back in 1994. From 6 in the evening until 10 in the morning. Which party still does that, eh? And the line-up was truly astonishing. Let me name a few: DJ Dick, Carl Cox, Marusha, RMB, Franky Jones, Miss Djax, Gizmo, Westbam, Hardsequencer, Paul Elstak, Genlog, Laurent Garnier, LTJ Bukem, Bonzai All Stars, Hooligan, and many more. I know the Dutch were responsible for many things, including putting 'raving' on the map, but the Germans also knew how to throw a party. And Mayday is a good example of just that. I always thought that Ilsa Gold was a woman. Don't know why. But when I found this set the other day, I realised that my knowledge was limited. Ilsa Gold played back in 1994, only for 15 minutes. The line-up was so ridicilous, some acts were only 15 minutes long. And the longest sets were only 1 hour long! They crammed in as much as they could. So it might be short, but Ilsa Gold's set is pure solid. And it contains something I have not figured out yet, a storyline. I found this set on 'the free spirit's' Soundcloud, and I noted that there was too much talking, but he quickly told me that they were telling a story throughout the set. I reckon it has something to do with someone called Silke. But that's all. Does it really matter? Not for me. To me the thing that matters is the crowd's reaction to Ilsa Gold's set. My God, the noise they make, you don't hear that anymore. And this was all done during the years before the internet and mobile phones. Everyone was focussed on the music, not about likes, livestreams or anything similar. And you do hear that clearly throughout the 15 minute set. It will be the shortest set I've ever heard, but boy does it pack a punch! 01. Ilsa Gold - Intro 02. Ilsa Gold - Silke II - Suchtig 03. Ilsa Gold - Eggs (They See) 04. ID - ID 05. Ilsa Gold - Four Non Blondes Also probably the shortest tracklist I've ever written down. If anyone knows this unknown Gabber track, you can leave a comment and we will update the tracklist. It's Gabber, and it's good. Never knew the true meaning behind Ilsa Gold, and never knew they were from Austria, but those records they have made (the most famous ones of course) will remain timeless classics. Especially 'Four Non Blondes'. My God, when they start playing this, the crowd looses their fricking minds! Hear the screams coming through your speakers, and you will instantaneously get goosebumps. I know I did. This takes me back to the 90s. Full on raving, and nothing else. We lived in our own bubble, we were unstoppable. And the people at Mayday 1994 must have felt the same. Under appreciated by literally everyone, but those witnessing it, they loved it. The world did not matter, they were the world. Or even the universe. Nothing else mattered. Bills to pay? Going to work? All went out of the window, raving was the only cure to the sickness we call mankind. And boy, those 15 minutes were solid. Don't know where this is taken from, but I'm guesing from an oldskool cassette? The quality is obviously not the best, and halfway through it skips, but whatever the reason for this might be, I'm loving it. I'm loving the quirkiness, the intro, the tracks, their interpretation of ecstacy (eggs they see). It's just so 90s. I wish I was born a decade earlier and witnessed the birth of Rave music. Those who were there, they know the score. I jumped the gun too late, but still lived with it throughout the late 90s. Ilsa Gold's set is really entertaining, even though I don't know the meaning behind the story telling. What's the story about? Leave a comment below, so we can tell others and make them aware of the story relating to Silke. - Blasted to the Future (A Pearsall Promo for Blasted DNB Berlin) (2019)
I'm on Soundcloud every single day, but even I do miss a lot of new music. Thankfully there's an option there, to remind others that you have uploaded a new mix. And that's exactly what Pearsall has done. Otherwise this great mix might have passed by me without even being noticed. Which is a shame. If you like your music to be dark, edgy, and basically rough, Pearsall is your man. Famous for his brilliant underground styled mixes, he has made a promo mix for this event which is about to happen on Sunday, in Berlin. So if you are in Berlin and like your music to be dark and rough, go and see them at the Rigaer Strasse 103. Pearsall will be doing a B2B with Vali. He will be playing for 2 hours the finest music from 1992 til 1994. You like Euphoric Rave, and Early Jungle, and Breakbeat, and maybe even Happy Hardcore? Pearsall is your man. The insane thing is that he used vinyl for this mix. Don't know if he's going to do the same this Sunday, but if it is as good as this promo mix, you will be in for a treat. No offense to others, but Pearsall's mixes always deliver, hence why I was a happy person when he told me about the existance of this promo mix. And now I'm gutted I'm not in Berlin. Never ever been to Berlin, but that's another story. Check this tracklist out! Again, all vinyl only! 01. Techno Brewster & DJ Iceman - Dream On Tangerine 02. Wax Doctor - Another Direction 03. The Pharmacist - Zero Hour 04. DJ Freshtrax - Version Excursion 05. MC Lethal - The Rave Digger 06. Top Buzz - Living In Darkness ('93 Remix) 07. DJ Kev - Happy Trax Volume 2 (Side B) 08. Tom & Jerry - B.O.S. Realting 09. Life On Mars - Volume 2 (Side A1) 10. Krome & Time - Virtual Reality 11. JMJ & Richie - Hall Of Mirrors 12. The Bookworm - Listen 13. SMD - SMD#6 (The Bell Tune) 14. Crowd Pleasers - Volume Two (Side B) 15. Heartless - Lifted 16. Higher Level - High Spirits 17. Future Primitive - Lift Me Up (Slammin' Vinyl Remix) 18. DJ Force & The Evolution - Lost It 19. Ironik - The Calling 20. Luna-C - Death Of A Psychopath (Nasenbluten Remix) 21. Vertigo - Deep Cover 22. Metronome - Warning 23. DJ Crystl - The Dark Crystl 24. Peshav - On The Firm 25. 4 Horsemen Of The Apocalypse - Drowning In Her (Remix) 26. DJ Gwange - Motionless 27. DJ Fokus - Untitled 28. DJ Crystl - Your Destiny 29. Swift & Zinc feat Steve B - The Secret 30. DJ Pulse & Alex Reece - Kudos See, this tracklist is so good, but also so weird to me. The majority of names do ring a bell, but where the hell has he found all these underground beasts? I've not heard the majority of these, didn't even knew they existed! His collection must be impressive. Mister Pearsall's mixes (well, the ones I've reviewed and listened to before) are all vinyl only, but to find these 1992 - 1994 records and to get these on vinyl, must have been a struggle. But worth a struggle. What a beast of a mix. Seriously sick. Also very interested for the music choice: it's all a bit dark, but yet also different. He touches several styles/genres, and the blend is astonishingly beautiful. But I did not expect anything less from this wizard behind the decks. I've got only credits to hand out to Pearsall. Yet another beautiful mix. With a lot of unknown records. And that's what I needed to hear. Sadly I can't go to Berlin, but if you are near, I would suggest you pay the location a visit, and see Pearsall play. He always hit the nail on the head with his mixes. He never, and I do mean never, disappoints. What can I say? A grandiose mix. Nothing more to add really. - Maynor @ Ouwe Stijl is Botergeil 13 - 02 - 2016
As you are familiar with my website, you all know that I'm an early Hardcore/Oldskool fanatic. I do love it, as much as I love Smarties (and boy, do I love them!). The other day I came across a remix of a record I had on a compilation called Earthquake, and it was a remix of 'Shaftman'. I quickly traced it back to the early 90s and tried to find it on Youtube or Soundcloud. And on SC it linked it to a mix I'd not seen or heard before, a liveset by Maynor, recorded back in 2016 at the majestic Ouwe Stijl Is Botergeil. Now, I do like Shaftman for its quirkiness and stupidity, but when I saw the tracklist, it made me a happy bunny. Finally a mix with obscure records I've not heard in a while. No bullshit, just plain Hardcore to the bone. A bit of Hardcore, and a bit of Terror. Who doesn't want to hear that on a dreary Wednesday evening? I couldn't say no, seeing as it has two of my favourite things: Ouwe Stijl (which is an event I would really visit) and Early Hardcore. You will understand why I'm hyped up, and anticipate this mix to be good. Just glance at the tracklist and you will see why this sparked my attention. How often have you heard these bad boys, eh? Mention to me the date you last heard any of these records, and if so, it's not that often. These are underrated classics, and a good selection by Maynor. 01. Raveman - Spaceman (1.9.8. Mix) 02. Riot Nation - Abba-Gabba (Speedfreak Mutterficker Massaker) 03. Rottencore - Ouwe Stijl Is Botergeil (Maynor Remix) 04. Thundergods From Asgard - Bustin' Walls 05. Party Animals - Misadventures Of The Spiegelman (Part 1) 06. Delta 9 - Son Of A Bitch 07. Nasenbluten - Blows T' The Nose 08. The Shaftman - Shaftman 09. DJ Dano - Starting Up 10. R. Wagner - Wicked Jungle 11. Beagle - To Bettel 12. R. Wagner - Final Revolution 13. The Destroyer - My Brain Is Sick (Panik Mix) 14. Johnfaustus - Putain De Francais 15. The Riotudder - Flame On The Brain 16. Deterrent Man - Gabba 4 Ya Mutha See! I told you, didn't I? How often do you see tracks like these in mixes, eh? I've not heard these anthems in a while, and Maynor even surprised me with a few records I'd not heard of before, like the part 1 of 'Misadventures Of The Spiegelman'. Never knew there even was a part 1. He selected obscure records. If I was there, I would have stomped my feet so hard on the floor, raised my hands so high in the air, and moved by body so violently, I would have burst open my hernia. You might wonder why? Well, there's a simple reason for this: I really like this music. To have selected these records for your set only gets you credit from me. The set is only 43 minutes long, but still highly enjoyable. It does contain a few cross fading mistakes, but if you don't focus on those sections, the set is actually highly enjoyable (as I said a few words ago). You cannot play a Early set without ending with some Terror, and that's exactly what Maynor has done. A good ending to a good set. Check it out right now, if you like your Hardcore to be early, and underrated too. - C-KAY Classic FW Mix 2016
What ever happened to Future World Records? I've just gone and Discogs them, and it was created back in the late 2000s, and they were really awesome! But after trying to go onto their website, it showed me a dodgy Chinese Ebay-like webpage? The label was created by Mark Breeze, and has some success with their music, and were on top of things, especially when Dubcore made its way to the mainstream UK Hardcore scene. I know it was a love/hate relationship: some really appreciated it, and some hated it. But no matter what your opinion was, they did release wicked anthems. And now it looks like the label doesn't exist anymore? They had massive success, and I know it's a personal opinion, but I really liked what was released on the label. So much great music. Genuinely the music I wanted UK Hardcore to be. A bit of the old with a bit of the new. And now it's gone. Please, can someone revive this label? C-Kay did this mix, celebrating him being linked to the label for 3 years. It's an underrated mix, if truth be told. I think I did review it before, but the website got revamped, and I lost all the old stuff. So here it is. 3 years ago these tunes rocked the dancefloors all over the UK. Why does time fly by so darn quickly? Can someone build a time-slowing machine, and let us appreciate music longer? 01. Re-Con - Loki's Theme 02. Darren Styles & Re-Con - Sober 03. Mark Breeze - Rise Again 04. Modulate feat MC Reynolds - Still Breathing 05. Dougal & Gammer - Mix Your Sex 06. Petruccio feat MC Whizzkid - Sick 07. Styles & Breeze - Sonic 2010 08. Petruccio & Modulate feat Mark Slammer - High On You 09. Darren Styles - Xfer 10. Tyl3r & Reynolds - Dive In 11. Tyl3r feat MC Static - Fight 12. Mark Breeze - Trying To Reach You 13. Modulate - Re-Loop 14. Dougal & Gammer - Float Away 15. Jakka B - Jump UP 16. Gammer & Michael Scout - Bye Bye This tracklist made me wonder: what ever happened to the majority of these artists? We all know what happened with Darren Styles and Gammer, but Petrucctio, Mark Breeze, Tyl3r, Re-Con, Modulate, Dougal? They've all gone a bit quiet, when back in the days they were on our timelines nearly every day! We need to revive these golden days! I know I do like to reminisce to the past, but for me it's important. Not sure which direction UK Hardcore is heading towards, but shall I be patient and just see where it goes, or stick in the past and listen to the good tunes that made me a happy bunny? I'd rather stick in the past, present day music will be 'classic' anthems in the near future anyway. I might be late jumping the band wagon, but it's never too late to hallucinate, eh? C-Kay's selection is awesome, and the mix is tight. No mistakes, and only big anthems. It starts with the catchiest tune of them all, and the flow continues throughout the mix. Can't believe these tunes are already 'old'. The best tune has got to be 'Fight'. When I heard it a few years back for the first time, the lyrics really got to me, and the melody stayed in my head for quite a while. I really like this music, and I do miss this generic sound. C-Kay's mix is really what we are after on this sunny Sunday morning/afternoon. BBQ anyone? Make sure you got your 'Beats by Dr Phil' speaker ready, and blast out these anthems. - Rotterdam Terror Corps @ MAYDAY ''Making Friends'' 2015
The legendary Rotterdam Terror Corps, who doesn't recognize them? Who did not have something with their logo on it during the 90s? Be it a bomber jacket, a t-shirt, or for those die-hard fanatics: a tattoo? I had a few RTC items, and I still own a t-shirt that came with an album. Can't remember which album it was,. but what I do know is that the t-shirt is absolutely fucked. Well, that's what you get if something is 20 years old. But not RTC, they are still as fresh as they were in the 90s. Back in 2015 they played at the mighty Mayday event in Dortmund, on the 30th of April. And only today I found their set. Maybe it was because I wanted to hear something made by RTC, and I stumbled across this mix. It's only 30 minutes long, but within those 30 minutes you do get the fearsome power you would expect from RTC. Not the 90s all-time classics, but their latest tunes (well, as they were back in 2015). And as vital as their sets were back in the 90s, they still bring the force, the power. There's no way you are sitting through this set without moving a body part. RTC's livesets are famous. And so is their music. The majority of fans love their early stuff the most, and prefer that over everything. But truth be told, the records in this set are really top notch, and are really what I wanted to hear today. Hard, rough, and the Rotterdam sound we all love and appreciate. So which tunes can you expect in this set? Well, here's the tracklist: 01. Rotterdam Terror Corps & Paul Elstak - Time To Kill vs Skull Dominion (2013 Rmstrd Mix) 02. Rotterdam Terror Corps & Dione - Survivors 03. Paul Elstak vs The Dark Twins feat Profane - Thru Your Head (Fixed By Offensive Hardcore) 04. Rotterdam Terror Corps - Destiny 05. Rotterdam Terror Corps - Troublemaker (The BeatKrusher Remix) 06. SRB vs Rotterdam Terror Corps - Dirty Bastards 07. SRB vs Distortion - No Aces 08. Distortion & MC R.A.W. vs Bass-D & King Matthew - Raveworld I have to say that I only knew the last record well enough, the others might have passed the revue, but they weren't really known to me. So when I heard this set and heard those beats coming through the speakers and nearly destroying my eardrums, I know I pressed play on the right liveset. Fuck me, this set is hard. RTC did their best to 'make friends' in Dortmund. And his German phrase to put their hands up, yes, you hear that continuously throughout this set. But it's the music I'm focussing this review on. And the music is as rough as you can get it. And funnily enough, it's not annoyingly hard or rough. Just perfect. Like what they did during the 90s: their music was hard, fast, sometimes melodic, but what you really wanted (and got) were feet stomping records. No trancey sounding records, no fucking about, you needed to let yourself go, and stomp those feet on the ground. RTC were and still are extremely good at that. That is what attracks me to their music. Just no nonsense Hardcore. I've never had the pleasure to see them live (or maybe I did, but let's not forget that certain years of the 90s were a haze to me, I was mostly drunk), but I would like to see them perform. Their energetic vibe can be felt through the speakers. You might not see the pretty ladies, but you can hear the madness being created. Which record is my favourite? Well, 'Troublemaker'. A really good record. A bit melodic, but not too long. Just perfect. And with a catchy chorus you know you have got a winner. A fantastic set. It might be 4 years old, but it still as fresh as I am. Underrated set, worth checking it out if you like Hardcre/Gabber from Rotterdam. You won't be disappointed. - Chosen Few @ Ghosttown 2015
Who doesn't know Ghosttown? This massive Hardcore focussed event has been on people's minds for many years, and have gained quite the following. Year after year they have created the finest atmospheres for the raving masses, and back in 2015 they had a killer line-up, including the following names, and before I name them, you might need a tissue, because you will have an orgasm. Here are a few names: Panic, Darkraver, AniMe, Dyprax, JDA, Headbanger, Destructive Tendencies, Rob, Bountyhunter, Delirium, MD&A, Lancinhouse & Jappo, Painbringer, Partyraiser, and of course Chosen Few. Why did I say of course? Well, it would be weird not to name him, when this review is all about his set at Ghosttown. Why did I want to hear this? Or even review this? Because I wanted to hear smething by him, Chosen Few. This DJ and producer has got this distinctive sound that is recognisable. You do know within second if a track is made by Chosen Few or not. And for his set at Ghosttown he decided to play shitloads of his own productions, and a few by his fellow DJ friends. The tracklist was the main focus for me, but it does have a few gaps: if anyone does know these tracks, please comment below, and we will add the missing bits. Before I start yapping about God knows what, let's focus on the music. Here's the tracklist. 01. ID - ID 02. Unknown Artist - Hide U (Remix) 03. Chosen Few - Chosen Paradise 04. Chosen Few - Kold Dayz 05. Chosen Few - The Break 06. Chosen Few - All You Motherfuckers 07. Chosen Few - Name Of The DJ 08. Turntable Disciples - Vortex 09. ID - ID 10. Turntable Disciples - Da Baddest 11. Brain Acardy - Wayz Of Da Underground 12. DJ Promo - Cold As Stone 13. ID - ID 14. Da Predator - Knuckleheadz 15. Wedlock vs Predator - Get On Down 16. Predator - Da Only Ones Left 17. Trypticon - Mixmasta 18. DJ Wicked - Flying In The Air He had to play his own records of course. Without a shadow of a doubt a set would be weird without his biggest hits, including the monster hit 'Name Of The DJ'. Be it the original or the Buzz Fuzz remix (which is also a fanfuckingtastic record), he has to play it. A genre defining record. A true statement to the gabbers from the 90s. I was too young of body, but I felt it. I knew that this record was going to be timeless, and still in 2019 it packs a punch. He has selected really interesting records, and on the mic we've got MC Joe. And it does work extremely well. I got a genuine 90s vibe throughout this set. And even though it was mixed using CDJs and not vinyl, it was still a rocking set. I think we've gone pass the stage where we talk about the fantastic sound of the crackling records: we just want to hear the music. And preferably in 1411kbps, not 12kbps lol. I've really enjoyed this set, and I think you should feel the same. Proper 90s vibes. And of course to hear 'Name Of The DJ', that's just a simple yes, yes, YES! Chosen Few's all time classic. A set cannot be finished without it. And when you hear those familiar cords, you know shit is about to happen! Enjoy it. No free download, but that's ok: we've got the repeat button! - Relapse - M.I.A. (2019)
Have I got an album now to review! It's one of those albums you definately need to check out before you die. And it's not out yet, so you cannot join the bandwagon. I'm sorry, but this is a preview, not a review. You've got to wait a couple of weeks for it to be released on Oblivion Underground Recordings. But when it gets released, it will cause a storm. Not a shit storm, or the storm we had today, but a good storm. Well, before we dive into the album, I have to come clean: the name Relapse did not ring a bell at first. But that's no big thing. This album is my first introduction into this UK DJ and producer, who's debut album will be released on the 21st of this month, and if that's not enough: a launch party in my hometown on the 18th. So this album is going to be big, right? Yes. Anyone who has a launch party is going to be big. But what can you hear on the album? A mix of literally everything hard: Hardcore, Industrial Hardcore, Grime, Hip-Hop, Crossbreed, Techno, and more. Don't get me wrong, the main focus is Hardcore/Industrial (or Downtempo), but you do get bits and bobs here and there of other styles, blending in nicely with the main gist of this album. For this album (which is called M.I.A., after my grandmother Mia) Relapse made it the way he wanted it to be, and his thoughts and passion has gone into each and every track. It also has a build up of BPMs throughout the album: we start with track 1 with 130 BPM and we finish at 160BPM with track 11. All originals, and all made by Relapse. So no Uptempo stuff, but Downtempo stuff. Gosh, I've been out of the scene too damn long. It's like every week a new style emerges out of nowhere. But sometimes the Uptempo stuff is too rough and raw (and boring too), so this Downtempo stuff could just be my cup of tea?! Let's find out what you can find on the actual album: 01. Relapse - M.I.A. 02. Relapse - Creepin 03. Relapse - No Time 04. Relapse - XXX 05. Relapse - Switch Tight 06. Relapse - Armageddon 07. Relapse - Let Me See Ya 08. Relapse - Bullshit 09. Relapse - Non Stop Hustle 10. Relapse - The Imperial Bomb 11. Relapse - Never Be Safe This is certainly a unique album. Not something you can categorise easily. You cannot put this in a general box. This is certainly something different, and not something I have heard before. Once the album drops, you will definately find out what I'm talking about. The albums starts slow, as I mentioned before, and will end 'fast'. Not really that fast, 160 BPM is still acceptable, but compared to the first record it's certainly fast. But is it good? I have to say 'yes'. Even though it can be kind of weird and unexpected, it does get me going mad behind the screens. I'm nodding my head, shaking my feet, and basically moving my elephant body around like it's my last day on Earth. Not a pleasant sight to see, but that's all Relapse's fault. The build up of this album is what I praise the most. Never have I experienced an album that focusses on the BPMs. Most albums have got the 'best' record as number 1, and towards the end you kind of get the 'waste' records: records no-one asked for, no-one plays, and no-one will ever recollect them. But that's not the case here. Relapse uses a lot of Hip-Hop and Grime. Sometimes maybe a bit too much, but it's still acceptable. At times you just want the beats and bass to penetrate your skull, and trust me, Relapse does that too. And for those wondering if you can dance to the 130 BPM records... don't worry: most CD players do have a slider that goes up and down, and with that you can increase the speed. So don't worry if it's too slow. It's not Barry White slow. During the first few records I got this DJ Promo vibe. His Industrial alias. God, I've forgotten the name of it. But that vibe can be felt. Towards the end, when the BPMs go insane (not really though), I do get a Rooler vibe. Relapse cannot be categorised, as I said before. But it's a nice balance: it never becomes dull. It raw, it's rough, and it does the trick. So what can you do until the release of this album? You can wait. Go to the launch party. And once it hits the market, get it. If you are interested in Downtempo music, you will love this album. A good debut album. This kid will do great things in the future. Make more of this, please. You can pre-order this right now from Bandcamp, and I urge you to do so. You can also listen to two of the eleven records, as a teaser! - C.J. Bolland @ Obsession - World Systems (20-11-1993)
Let the flyer speak for itself. To many ravers the early 90s (or even the late 80s) is when everything happened. The most memorable events took place then, not now. And that's got nothing to do with the music, but the atmosphere. When Obsession happened, the music scene was slowly growing, but it happened so rapidly, no-one was prepared for it. Still a new and exciting quest, these parties might have looked very basic and 'cheap' compared to a present day rave, but for the organisers and the ravers this was just enough. Raves were about to express yourself. The focus was mainly on the ravers and the DJ, and people did let themselves go. And all that without a mobile phone! This was the era before the mobile phones, so the genuine screams are heard not because of Snapchat demanding it, or Facebook Live requires it: it was because of the music and the DJ. tThis party happened back in 1993, which is now 26 years ago. Can you Adam and Eve it? Of course this being the 90s you were able to get the sets recorded on cassette packs, and there are a few out there, if you are interested: DJ Sy, Ellis Dee, Destruction, Easygroove, Mike C, DJ Peer, and of course the Belgian Techno pioneer C.J. Bolland. I've seen the name before and heard music here and there, but never heard an actual set by him, especially a set from the early 90s. During the 90s Techno was my thing, but trust C.J. Bolland to use obscure underground records during his set. This liveset is nearly an hour and a half long, so you do get a good understanding of what happened at Obsession. But it's not only C.J. Bolland you hear. So sit back and let's take a ride, back to 1993. 01. The Source Experience - Elektra 02. Radiation - Meltdown (Richie Hawtin South Of Detroit Dub) 03. Vainqueur - Lyot (Maurizio Mix) 04. Luke Slater - Moave Violin 05. Slam Trax - Blow Acid 06. Drax - Section 2 07. Dr. Jekyl & Mr. Hyde - Midex 08. Electronic Experienced - No. 303 09. DJ Tom & Norman - Tales Of Mystery 10. Sonic Infusion - Magnifica 11. Magnetic Two - Boom Level 12. C.J. Bolland - Spring Yard 13. Azid Force - Breakattack 14. Thunderball - Bonzai Channel One 15. Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth 16. Unknown Structure - Theme From Unknown Structure/Helixcoid 17. Pergon - Jungle Love 18. Faith 7 - Phuturistic Noize Generation (B) I have to mention that this set is not only C.J. Bolland's set, but also Destruction's set (well, bits of it). But my focus is on his set. He's a Techno legend, and has been quiet over the last couple of years, according to Wikipedia. But he deserves a short break, he's been in the scene for a very long time. Think about it, 1993. I was only 10 years old. Don't know how old you are (the reader), but C.J. Bolland was already playing at big events, and I just got out of my nappies. I was still green behind the ears. And he played in front of thousands of ravers. I wish I was born earlier, and had some talent. I was a bit disappointed during this set. Normally I'm not that picky and will say nothing about a few 'mistakes', but there are really a lot of them in here. I wouldn't have expected it from C.J. Bolland. Truth be told, it was all on vinyl, which must have been a struggle, but I've heard better sets from 1992/1993. The tracks he has selected are good, but the mixing is all over the place. And that's a disappointment. I wish I was old enough to experience this event and others similar. Maybe it was different to hear this when you were there. But to hear this in 2019 via Soundcloud, the magic does not come across. Best record? 'The First Rebirth'. DJ: C.J. - TCD TOP 5 18-05-2019
We are trying something new. Something exciting. Or maybe just plain stupid. It has been done before, on millions of websites, but TCD has never jumped the bandwagon. Now the time has changed, and I think it's important that we start it today. Our Top 5 list, containing the finest records TCD could find on the world wide web. And the first edition of our (bi) weekly list will focus on my favourite songs/CDs/mixes on YouTube, the world's biggest platform for music, and other bullshit. We all know what YouTube is, and we have all spent at least a few hours a week, watching videos on YouTube, or even making videos. I'm not a YouTuber, I don't like videoing myself: you wouldn't ask Quasimodo to do a selfie, do you? And what to say? I've got nothing to say, my life is as boring as you would expect it. I only use YouTube for my own entertainment, and music is the main focus. So what can you expect in this list? Well, it's not the top 5 records you will find on the charts right now. Or could be. Maybe it does contain records which are hot now, or were back in 1989, or were never hot, and are obscure. Maybe you've never even seen or heard of this video before, and only because of TCD you are made aware of it. And that's exactly what I want to do. I want you to know the 5 records that are doing it for me right now. It could be literally everything. From Hardcore Techno to Trance, from Drum & Bass to Mellow, from Jazz to Speedcore. Whatever floats my boat. I've got weird moments when I go on YouTube, and sometimes my whole search history contains for example 'Jazz' music, but the week after I'm back into the Gabber world. I'm not predicatble. So will I explain each record and what it does to me? Nope. I will certainly not. These records are ALL my favourites of this week. Next week (or the week after) my list will contain maybe still the same records, or different ones. All that might change. It still a concept I'm really trying here now, it could be a flop. Or it could just work. We don't know. We will try, and hopefully succeed. 1. Gab - You Better Watch Yourself (Happy Hardcore) 2. 4 Tune Fairytales - My Little Fantasy (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) (Happy Hardcore) 3. Da Goose - Men Of Steel (Techno) 4. Pino D'Ambino feat Beasty Boy - Do It (Hektik) (Hardcore) 5. Sefa & Nosferatu - Killer Beat (Uptempo Hardcore) Let us know in the comments if this section is worth it, or extremely boring. We do listen to feedback, so if this only reaches 3 people and no-one else, we will not commence any longer. But if this could bloom into something beautiful, we will and shall continue. We would also listen to suggestion, maybe a different top 5 every so often, or maybe focus on one style each time? Your rules, your game.
- Essential Freeform 2019 - Mixed By Hedonistik Ritual
I know, I know. Only a few days ago I mentioned that it's rather quiet in the Freeform world, and long and behold: another epic Freeform mix is up on Soundcloud! This time it's by Hedonistik Ritual, a fairly 'new' face in the scene, with already a few amazing records under his belt. A few of these anthems you can find in this mix, made by Hedonistik Ritual himself. And this mix also includes the best Freeform record of 2019, or maybe of EVER. Which track am I talking about? You'll just have to wait and see. I did meet him a few years ago, in Bournemouth, and he was a full on raver. Me? I was a wasted raver, drunk as hell (even slept standing up on the train to London). But he was passionate about Freeform, and after he turned to the decks, he also turned to producing. His records are released on big labels, and he has collaborated with one of the biggest names in the scene: Transcend. I was wrong, saying that Freeform is rather quiet. It turns out 2019 is a good year for the scene. Not many parties happening, but music wise the quality has risen to a tremendous level. No cheap skate music producing artists, only the finest are selected, and remain respected. And Hedonistik Ritual, who's name sounds like a medical term for receiving an enema (trust me, that's really unpleasant), is one of those names you need to look out for. Tracklist. Yes! 01. Alek Szahala - Ashurnishishi (Substanced Remix) 02. Hyphen - Levival 03. Hedonistik Ritual - Desecration 04. Transcend - Immortal Knowledge 05. Substanced - Jade 06. Transcend & Hedonistik Ritual - Organism 07. Kokomochi - Nautilus 08. Hedonistik Ritual - Free The World 09. Transcend - Neural 10. Faithless - We Come One (Moonrock Remix) 11. Kokomochi - Level 6 12. Rikki Arkitech - A.I.Danger A proper Freeform tracklist. With a lot of repetative names like himself, Kokomochi (who is he/she? never heard of the artist before), and of course the mighty Transcend. And Substanced. Now, we are getting there, to the best record ever. 'Jade', released on Energy Field, is such a monster anthem. Whoever this Jade is he wrote this for, she must be very special. This uplifting record has grabbed me by my balls and hasn't let me go at all. This is Freeform at its best. So pure, so good, so Substanced. He and Transcend are my favourite Freeform producers of all time. I have to give Hedonistik Ritual also credit for his contribution to the scene: the records he has made are of extremely good quality. You hear his passion and dedication for Freeform, and it has led up to absolute monster tracks. My favourite HR track? 'Free The World'. A flawless mix. Thanks Hedonistik Ritual for bringing back my passion for Freeform. I need more of these mixes. 2019 is a good year for Freeform. We need to give it a big boost. This needs to be played at big events, by big names, played to thousands of ravers. Freeform deserves it! Fuck me, 'Jade' is still an epic song. - Intents Festival 2019 | FANATICZ | Warm Up Mix by Melvje
At the end of this month, to be precise the 31st of May, until the 2nd of June, a massive party is held in the Netherlands, Oisterwijk, or should I have written it the other way around, Oisterwijk, Netherlands? Anyway, you are all aware of Intents Festival, and the line-up is literally something extraordinary! So many areas, so many artists. Let me name just a few, can't just type the whole artist line-up: D-Block & S-Te-Fan, Isaac, Phuture Noize, Sub Zero Project, Angerfist, N-Vitral, Pat B, Jason Payne, Luminite, Unresolved, Requiem, Sefa, Ncrypta, MYST, Mark With A K, Keltek, and more. I hear you thinking: shall I go? Well, you should. If you like raving and you like tents. That's what this event is all about. Partying in tents. Sleeping in tents. Tents. Tents everywhere. Nothing more, nothing less. And those negative comment spreading people, it's all a joke. This is obviously one of the most hyped events of the year. And the line-up is truly astonishing. As we say in the Netherlands 'voor ieder wat wils'. But if you didn't get any tickets during the pre-sale, I think you might not be able to get tickets at all: I've just checked Partyflock and it looks like it's all sold out. Maybe next year, eh? Melvje, the Hardstyle/Rawstyle fanatic, has made this promo mix for Intents, containing the sickest records money could buy. And when I say sick, boy, I do mean sick. It's a mix you certainly need to check out, and if you are going to Intents, let this mix be the one that gets you all the way up to heaven, and beyond. 01. Ava Max - Sweet But Psycho (DJ Thera Core Mix) I don't know how Meljve (New Account) finds these absolute monster tracks, but whenever he makes a mix, it always delivers! And this mix isn't an exception. This contains the finest. And I'm not joking. I think it also has the record in it that might destroy stages all over the world. Normally I would build up towards a 'favourite' record, but I couldn't hide it from anyone. It's 'Dusk Till Dawn' by Bass Chaserz feat Evelien van Buren. Fuck me sideways, what a brilliant melodic Hardstyle anthem! You should definately check this one out. I'm truly in love with this kind of Hardstyle. Euphoric is the way forward. I cannot control my body when I hear this record! Why Meljve have you selected this record? This record has made my brain go into hyperspace! Still ranting about 'Dusk Till Dawn'. The version you can find on Soundcloud is a tad slower: the sped up version Melvje is using is just perfect. God, I'm hyperventilating right now. I want to raise my hands in the air and wave all the negativity surrounding me goodbye. And I want fireworks. Don't think that's acceptable in my house. Could try. Not only is this record the absolute pinnacle of Hardstyle, but so are all the other tracks selected by Melvje. He slowly builds towards a rough end, but throughout this 50 minute long mix you are treated to the finest records, music you will certainly hear at Intents Festival. Melvje, you are pure gold. Your Soundcloud channel is a bliss. And this is yet another mesmefuckingrizing mix! And it's got Dusk Till Dawn. That's the creme de la creme. Or however you spell it. - What Is Dead May Never Die - Mixed By Solution (2019)
Before we begin, let's just talk briefly about the title of this mix. 'What is dead may never die'? What the actual fuck? I know Freeform is an underground movement, but this title has got to be one of the darkest ones I've ever encountered as a reviewer! This is dark, and yet the music is heavenly! Obviously I do not expect mixes to be called 'fluffy pirate punching melon-mix' or 'mr Kipling's finest sweety record-mix', but this is dark. Is there a hidden message behind this all, one I'm completely missing? Anyway, let's talk about the mix. And we'll dive straight into it. It's Freeform. A bit of everything, old or new, you can find it in here. A bit of UK Freeform, and a bit of Finnish Freeform (a.k.a. FINRG). And I love the fact that Solution has selected a wide variety of artists: Oli G, Marc Smith, Substanced, Carbon Based, Endemic, Alek Szahala, Lost Soul, Transcend, and more. Solution is a Freeform legend. Last saw him at BMH (was it Birmingham or Bournemouth, can't remember). Can't even remember the whole set, I was drinking the bar empty. But Solution is amongst the legends of the scene, he's a wonderful DJ, and with this dark titled mix he shows that he's on top of it, as ever. He's not lost it, and he will remain Freeform forever. The tracklist, yep, that would be handy, wouldn't it? 01. Transcend - Astral Projection 02. DJ Rx - Code Of Silence 03. Lost Soul - Singularity 04. Endemic - Loki 05. Duncan Oatham - Push The Tempo (Lost Soul Remix) 06. Alek Szahala - Alanamra 07. Effigy, Sano & K Complex - Virtual Reality 08. Carbon Based - Anger Ball (Kevin Energy Remix) 09. Innerspace - Twisted Metal 10. Douglas feat Rhona - FM220 (Endemic Remix) 11. Endemic - The Chosen 12. Solution & Ephexis - Elements 13. Transcend - Shiva 14. Adaptive, Onslaught & K Complex - Civilisations End 15. Carbon Based - Cyclone (Sinthetic Remix) 16. Alek Szahala - Lumi (Kevin Energy Remix) 17. Transcend & Cyrax - Unleashed (Substanced Remix) 18. Substanced - Coordinates 19. Marc Smith & Darwin - Cut The Midrange 20. Substanced - Oneiroi 21. Marc Smith - Boom & Pow 22. Shanty, Tazz & Concept - Beast Of Hardcore 23. Oli G & Speedy B - Lazarou 24. Stereotype - Out Of This World See, I told you this tracklist is a beast. I did, didn't I? No, I didn't, but now you know it's a beast. And I'd already shared it among my Dutch friends at Partyflock: there's a forum on which one of the topic is about Freeform/UK Hardcore, and whenever I see a mix (with a tracklist) good enough to be shared, I will do that. Solution's mix is nicely balanced, and towards the end of the mix it all becomes harder and rougher. But he has not forgotten to play some extremely melodic Freeform. And mixes like this one re-light the spark, the love for Freeform. It's rare to find Freeform mixes nowadays, it's like it's slowly fading into obscurity. A few years ago we would hear a ton of mixes every week, and now it's every so often. So a mix like this one is definately a treat. I just love the quality of the tunes he has selected. You know immediately that the tunes are good, because they are made by the finest artists. I've got no criticism at all. The mix is dope, the mixing is dope, and the tunes are dope. Can't remember when the last time I reviewed a Solution mix, but I guess it has been as good as this one. Never disappoints me, this man! Well, maybe one critical thing to mention: the size of this mix! It's 0.98 GB! Fuck me, I know it's big, but this big? - GREAZY PUZZY FUCKERZ (GPF) - LEAKED SEX TAPE VOL. 5!!!!! (2019)
GPF is back with a brand spanking new mix. And whilst I'm slowing down, they are pushing this music forward. They are unstoppable. This force is tremendous, and the pace of everything they are involved in is beyond belief! And pulling of one of the biggest April fools joke of all time, hats off for that. GPF is a huge marketing success. Whatever they touch, turns into Gold. And I'm impressed. Their previous sex tapes have all been successful. And when I say all of them, I do mean exactly that. They have been a notorious group, focussing on those harder style lovers, who just want to have fun. Fun is a key element of GPF. It does not need to be extremely good or even brilliant, as long as the fans as laughing when they are raving. And I'm laughing. Constantly laughing. It does not make any sense, but that appeals to me. I don't need to follow the masses: they are boring. I want my brain to be fucked by GPF. Why do we need braincells, when we only need 1: the rave cell. I'm not bothered about the gossip side of the harder styles: I don't follow artists that much, only interested in the music. But nowadays you need to know more about the artists before you start appreciating their music. I honestly couldn't give a fuck. GPF is about having fun. Are you having fun? Or are you a hater? Someone who doesn't understand it? That's fine. Every artist has got them. That's cool. But stop filling our timelines constantly with 'your negative perspective'. We do not need negativity, we need PLUR. Piss, labia, urethra, and rectal. What else in life matters? Metallica once said that nothing else matters. Damn right. We already live in a boring and automated world. Break the barrier, embrace life! 01. Headhunterz - From Within (Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz Remix) 02. Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz & D-Fence - Virgin 03. Da Tweekaz - Frozen (Disney Tool)(Caine & Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz Remix) 04. Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz & Qriminal feat MC Ludo - Greazy Anarchy 05. Tieum & Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz - Flikker Op 06. Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz & Riot Shift - Broccoli Fuck 07. Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz - Fuck Space 08. Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz - Go Away Ryan (Ryanhair Diss 2K19) 09. Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz & Mizz Behave - I Fucked A Girl 10. Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz - Clubbed Foot 11. Headhunterz - Destiny (Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz Remix) 12. Brennan Heart & Wildstylez - Lose My Mind (Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz Remix) I'm sitting here, in North London, laughing my ass off. And at the same time happy and elated. And maybe a semi. A small semi. Ginger Scottish men don't turn me on. But whatever he works on, works. So the semi is dedicated to him too. This is insane. This is hard. This is idiotic. This is weird. This is love. This is just superb. And it's pure love. A bit of silly stuff, but also some extremely hard stuff. Disagree? Well, sod off mate. It has been a successful few months for the boys. As you can see they have made a lot of music. From his legendary Fuck Ryanair diss, to the recent 'Broccoli' song. And of course the disgusting 'Frozen' song. One thing said though, this version is much better than Da Tweekaz's song. But it's still absolute kak. You might not understand GPF, but do I? Nope. Do GPF know what GPF is? Can it be described in a sentence? Nope. As long as we laugh and love life. And two shagging elephants on their cover picture will certainly show the love, eh? Another masterpiece. Within 6 days 14.6k+ plays! Not seen that happen before. Sadly not downloadable, but that's okay: there's a repeat button on Soundcloud, you whiny little bitch. - Rob IYF - Warped Science Promo Mix (2019)
Am I thick? How come I did not know of this label? What have I been doing all these years? It just baffled me that I only found out that Al Storm and Euphony had another label, one I had never heard of. And how did I find it out? Well, due to Rob IYF's mix on Soundcloud and Hardcore Underground's e-mail, in which they talk about their latest releases, including the whole back catalogue of this label. 147 records for £75. Is that a bargain? Well, yes. That's 51p per record! Don't know if you can get music this cheap anyway nowadays. But for only a few pennies per record you can get 147 records all from this UK Hardcore/Happy Hardcore label, run by Euphony and Al Storm. I seriously had no idea that this label even excisted! What do you think I am, a walking Wikipedia? Obviously you will find a lot of Al Storm records, Euphony's records are on there as well, but also records by artists such as Bishop, Fracus, Weaver, Fasteve, Dave Castellano, Nu Foundation, and much more. So what's Rob's involvement into this? Well, he made a promo mix, obviously not using 147 records in this 53 minute long mix (that would be suicidal), but just enough records to get everyone excited for this release. A good promo mix, with a lot of exclusive stuff (or is it exclusive because I've not heard this before?) What the fuck have I been doing in my life to have missed this? 01. Al Storm & Orbit1 feat Lisa Abbott - Falling Through (Al Storm Mix) 02. Fracus & Orbit1 feat Lisa Abbott - Always Stay With Me 03. Impact & Weaver feat Lisa Abbott - Breakaway 04. Bishop - Into Orbit (Robbie-S Remix) 05. Bishop & Outburst - Cut That Bass 06. Al Storm & Euphony feat Danielle - Breathe (HTID 2 Mix) 07. Nu Foundation - Taking My Time (Remix) 08. Euphony - Space Invader (Warped Science Mix) 09. Al Storm feat Ali - Swept Away 10. Jonny G, Fatsteve & Dave Castellano - Lets Turn It Up! 11. Impact & Resist - All I Want (Original) 12. Al Storm feat Ali - Rain 13. Al Storm feat Vicky Fee - Shoot Me Down 14. Orbit1 - My Heart (Inverse & Orbit1 2008 Remix) 15. Al Storm & Euphony - Edge Of The World (The Blind) 16. Weaver & Andy L - The Sun Is Shining (Ultravibes Mix) 17. Al Storm - Dropping Bombz 18. Angel Eyes - Twilight (Fallon, Al Storm & DJ Burn Remix) 19. Audioscape - Hidden Agenda 20. Orbit1 & Sunrize - Don't U Know 2008 21. Orbit1 - Close To The Edge 22. Nu Foundation - Liberation 23. Al Storm, Euphony & Weaver - Eyes Don't Hide (Ultravibes Remix) 24. Fracus & Mozz - Hold On To Me (Fracus Remix) This brought a tear to my eye. So much UK Hardcore in one mix. This is the reason why I started reviewing: UK Hardcore. My love and passion and dedication for the scene, and the appreciation it deserves, globally. Sadly I think more reviews are needed, but I've got plenty of time. But with mixes like this one, it will definately go towards the right direction. Warped Science, I've locked that name in my head now forever. And after hearing Rob IYF's mix, I will never let it go. What a fucking epic mix! This is proper UK Hardcore, just the way we all like it. I know a few people out there complain about the present day scene and how different the music is: to those haters, check out this massive release! This is really something to look forward to. And to those complaining about the money: you spend money on useless stuff anyway, why not NOT do that this month, and spend it on quality? I should be a salesperson. Anyway, Rob's mix is really interesting. His selection is awesome. Have not checked the actual package (147 records) but what he has selected is truly dope. I've not heard one bad record, they are ALL solid records. Especially 'Breathe'. What a slammer that is, completely forgot about that one, and the vocals are just weakening my knees. Such a sweet voice. Well, what else is there to say? Check out this mix RIGHT NOW. - Neophyte - Intents Festival 2016
Yesterday I came across DJ Neophyte's Soundcloud page, which is filled with everything Neophyte related. Including his latest sets and records, but also the early records released during the 90s, including Masters Of Ceremony, Bodylotion, Neophyte, and more. I was in full Neophyte mode yesterday: just look at the liked records in my 'favourite' list on SC, you will see that the last 10 or so are all Neophyte records. Well, mainly Masters Of Ceremony. Gosh, they did release some wicked anthems over the years. So I was in full Neophyte mode. I wanted to hear a full set, and found one. Thanks to a follower on SC there was a tracklist, so I'm here to present to you all Neophyte's set, recorded at Intents Festival 2016. This well known festival has got the finest artists every year, and even their 2016 edition was a huge success. Those that went there might want to hear this set again, and get ready for the 2019 edition of Intents. And if you are like me, Neophyte fan, you wouldn't say no to this set. Don't expect a full on oldskool set from the pioneer. This is all 'new' music. Still highly enjoyable, don't worry about that! 01. Nosferatu - Assassinator Style 02. Angerfist - Bad Attitude 03. The Viper & Neophyte - First Aid 04. Synthax - Stay True 05. Angerfist - Circus Circus 06. Evil Activities - God Damn Noise 07. The Viper & Nosferatu - Kingdom Come 08. D-Fence - Pompen 09. Tha Playah - Get Hard 10. Nosferatu - Sanctity Of Space 11. Kasparov & Amada feat Diesel - Ik Wil Stampen! 12. Neophyte & MC Alee - Grondleggers 13. DJ Promo - Phreak Ya Speaka (N-Vitral Re-Phreak) 14. Synthax - Bring It Hardcore 15. D-Fence - Krakaka 16. Angerfist & Neophyte feat MC Alee & MC Diesel - Fight With Anger 17. Furyan & D-Fence - Fastlane 18. Neophyte & Nosferatu - S.I.C.K. 19. D-Fence - Bass Line 20. Denekamps Gespuis - Gas Met Die Zooi (That Playa Remix) w/ Euromasters - Alles Naar De Klote 21. DJ Neophyte & Evil Activities - One Of Those Days (Angerfist Remix) 22. Neophyte & Nosferatu - Daar Zijn We Weer The set was recorded back in 2016, and was an hour long. Already reached 22.1k plays, and it will gain only more over the next few months/years. As true pioneers of the scene they have been active since the early days, and they keep on delivering awesome Hardcore music to the masses. Neophyte, you might love them or hate them, but whatever your perspective is, you have to acknowledge that they have done so much for the scene. The last time I saw Neophyte was back at Raving Nightmare - Brutal Truth. A long time ago. Would I want to see them again? Hell yeah! Be it Neophyte as an act, or on hiw own. This set shows again that he's on top of his game, and he has delivered an excellent set. The ony drawback to this set is the MC. I'm not a fan of any Hardcore MC in the Dutch Gabber scene. They do not add anything but nuisance to an otherwise brilliant set. I think it MC Alee. He might be a nice dude, but during Neophyte's set he does not add a single thing. Favourite record? The mashup of 'Gas Met Die Zooi' and 'Alles Naar De Klote'. All in all a wicked set. Get this down you right now! - i-DJ: casual gabberz (2019)
Casual Gabberz. If you haven't been on social media lately, you obviously missed out on a short video of them performing at a Boiler Room session, which intrigued me into investigating my time into their music. Today was going to be the day I would start listening to them a bit more, not only for a minute or two (this was the length of the Facebook video of their set at the Boiler Room). So, after visiting their Soundcloud page, I found a mix they made as a collective for i-D. Never heard of this global platform, but it is focussed on fashion, culture, individuality and youth, and music fits in there beautifully. Casual Gabberz, you guessed it, they are focussed on the Gabber sound, originated from a small country called The Netherlands. We coined the phrase 'gabber', meaning pal, mate, friend. So Casual Gabberz, they are just casual friends, mates? Well, whatever they might be, they are from Paris, and love their music rough and tough. For this online platform they made this Hardcore mix, and there's also a short introduction prior to you finding the mix on i-D's website. It's all in German, so if you can read that, you might want to click here and go nuts. If you cannot read German, and you are like me, you just want to see the tracklist and dive straight into it. Casually, of course (see what I did there?) 01. Astral Projection - Mahedava 02. Clouds - Another Day 03. DJ Jon Piemel - Inhale 04. Kabaal - Blow That Shit 05. Raine - Dominating 06. Black Knight - Keep It Going Now 07. Mos Phat - Infectious 08. SMF - Hahaha! 09. Microwave Prince - I Need Love 10. Darrien Kelly feat The Unknown MC - The People Want More (Arcadipane Remix) 11. DJ Buby, DJ Giangi & DJ Max - Musica Nevrotica 12. Ophidian - Angel (Drake Remix) 13. Manic - Illusion 14. Critical Mass - Believe In The Future (Weirdo & Sim Remix) 15. Von Bikrav - Casse Des Murs 16. DJ Rob & Tim B - Bleeding Ears 17. Wedlock & Nosferatu - Bulletproof 18. Beyonder - The Wish (The Philosopher Remix) 19. DJ Buby - A.E.I.O.U. 20. Dolphin - Devastator Dominator 21. Tellurian - Guyver (Chosen Few Mix) 22. Zenith - The Flowers Of Intelligence 23. IDF - Interlude I I love quirky sets. And this has got to be one of the weirdest sets of all time. I was expecting a full on Gabber mix, but the oppossite happened. You get literally everything, not just Gabber music. Also a bit of Hardstyle, Trance, Happy Hardcore, and more. But does it work? Well, yes and no. I would expect a flow in each set, and in this the flow can be a bit off. From a raging Hardcore bit to a slow section. As many would know, Hardcore fanatics love their music to be straight forward hard, rough and tough. This crosses all the boundaries, and touches upon others too. So, what is this mix? One quirky mix. Jumping (as I mentioned before) from one style to the next. Expect literally everything to be thrown at you. Hard House? Check. Hardcore? Check. Hardstyle? Check. But for me, does it work for me? Well, I'm not sure. I don't know their background stories, and don't know the true meaning behind this collective. Maybe it's just them having fun and not giving two fucks about what the 'normal' way of life is. That became apparent when I watched the Boiler Room teaser. Unusual, to say the least. Would I give this set another go? Well, I think I have to, to understand what the meaning behind this set is. For now I will give this a 3.5 out of 5. Maybe that might go up, after a few more sessions. Or maybe I need to be more intoxicated to appreciate it? I don't know it yet, I'll let you know. If you are looking for something different, you will love this. - Slapen Is Voor Apen 11.0 (2019)
The Dutch are a bunch of funny people. Me being one of them, living here in the UK, it makes me miss the funny language. Like used in the mix here. You cannot translate this into another language and still make it rhyhme. Sleeping is for monkeys. In Dutch it works beautifully. In English, not so. But are we here today to talk about languages and rhyhming words, or are we talking about music, mr TCD? Well, it's about the music, and today's mix is presented to us by Monkey Kong. A Rawstyle/Hardcore mix. 45 minutes of monkey madness. Exactly what you want to hear on this Easter weekend. Thankfully it's not filled with dreadful holiday season music, but you can still have something to listen to, prescribed by me. And you know what I'm saying makes sense all the time, right? They used very interesting tracks from a wide variety of artists, and towards the end of the mix we go a little bit faster and rougher. If you enjoy Rawstyle music, just check out this tracklist: 01. (yes, you can tell I never do the cooking in our household). Whatever you do today, make sure you do it with banging tunes surrounding you. These monkeys are here to entertain us. Normally they are caged and through shite at us, but these monkeys don't. Well, unless you think Rawstyle is shit. In that case they are indeed like genuine monkeys. But if you like Rawstyle, it's worth checking this mix out. And give them a like of a follow, whatever floats your boat. I've got no negative feedback, so go and check out this monster mix. - Fallout 4: The Diamond City Radio Playlist (2015)
If you follow me on Twitter, you know I'm a huge fan of Fallout 4. I was only given a Playstation on Christmas last year, and I think I became a fan of it after seeing videos of it on Youtube. As a surprise, the wife got me Fallout 4. Thankfully not 76, because many seem to dislike it. But 4 got my attention in the first place, and now I'm playing it whenever I can. Now, for those who consider themselves gaming fanatics, let me warn you, I'm still a noob. I've got prior to this game no gaming experience whatsoever, and thankfully we will not discuss the game, but only one tiny feature that is present in this game, and gets a lot of plays on Soundcloud and Youtube: Diamond City Radio! I still need to discover all the perks of this game, but what I can tell you is that I'm addicted. Truly addicted. And I'm in love with the music they used for this 'radio' station. I've been listening to this for weeks now, not only during me playing the actual game, but there are plenty of channels on Youtube and Soundcloud dedicated to the game. You can literally find everything on here. So what kind of music can you hear? Old music. Classic music. Timeless music. But also music that will remain in your head, long after you stopped playing the game. Someone on Youtube made this video, and all the track names are in chronological order. Don't expect the usual hard style music I normally write about , in this video. If you are a fan of the game, or just Jazzy music in general, you will love this! Sit back, and enjoy! 01. Tex Beneke - A Wonderful Guy 02. Bing Crosby - Accentuate The Positive 03. Cole Porter - Anything Goes 04. The Five Stars - Atom Bomb Baby 05. Roy Brown - Butcher Pete (Part 1) 06. Roy Brown - Butcher Pete (Part 2) 07. Danny Kaye - Civilization (Bongo Bongo Bongo) 08. Sheldon Allman - Crawl Out Through The Fallout 09. Billie Holiday - Crazy He Calls Me 10. Bob Crosby - Dear Hearts And Gentle People 11. Billy Holiday - Easy Living 12. Roy Brown - Good Rocking Tonight 13. Wynonie Harries - Grandma Plays The Numbers 14. Bob Crosby - Happy Times 15. Nat King Cole - Orange Colored Sky 25. Johnny Mercer - Personality 26. Bing Crosby - Pistol Packin' Mama 27. Ray Smith - Right Behind You Baby 28. Connie Allen - Rocket 69 29. Billy Ward And The Dominoes - Sixty Minute Man 30. Skeeter Davis - The End Of The World 31. Dion - The Wanderer 32. Ella Fitzgerald - Undecided 33. Elton Britt - Uranium Fever 34. Warren Smith - Uranium Rock 35. Bob Crosby - Way Back Home 36. Big Maybelle - Whole Lotta Shakin Going On 37. The Three Suns - Worry Worry Worry Funny side note: a couple of weeks ago, me and the wife went to Bletchley Park, the famous location where they 'cracked' the Enigma code, and we had afternoon tea there. Guess what kind of music they played? Correct. This kind of music. Well, not the saucy and sexual tinted tracks, but the 'clean' records. It gave me a nice feeling: small sandwiches, small tea, in a nice location, with Fallout 4 music. My kind of heaven. Some of these records are so unique and cool, you might even think that they have been specifically written for the Fallout series, but you've got to remember that when these were originally released, the world was focussed on atomic/nuclear power and the devastation a nuclear bomb creates. It was a different time, a Third World War was closeby. So it might appear to be specifically made for this game, but it wasn't. It was just the state of the world back then. Such a different world. How cool is it, that music can take you back to this world in an instant? You don't need to be at Bletchley Park to feel like you are in the 40s and 50s. You just need to close your eyes and listen to this. And another amazing thing is that the tunes were short, compared to the music nowadays. But within the shortness it packs a punch. I love the fact that these tunes are catchy as hell! Nothing like the top 40 from today. The tunes will be forgotten easily, but not these tunes. Yes, they might sound dated, but they will outlive many of the artists who release music in the 10s. I'm so addicted to this: I can literally sing along each and every record! And at the moment this kind of music is my favourite! Yes, EDM and everything EDM related I love, but my passion lies now with the 40s and 50s music. And Fallout should get some credit, for making me aware of this kind of music. Not something you would look out for, or hear on the radio at all. Which is my favourite record? 'Pistol Packin Mama' by Bing Crosby. So darn catchy. Ah hell, it might be 20+ degrees outside, but this reviewer will not leave the house: I must revisit Diamond City, and just relax. - Joey Riot 30 Min Promo Mix (2015)
We all know that Joey Riot is doing well at the moment, on his own and with his group Destructive Tendencies. He's making sure the raving masses are raving all over the globe. They are game changing, and have already a huge following on social media. And about 4/5 years ago Joey was also an innovator with the Powerstomp sound. And guess what I'm about to show you (again)? You have guessed it correctly: a Powerstomp promo mix by the legend himself, recorded 4 years ago. One I'd already reviewed on my previously websites, but sadly it got lost. Someone reposted this mix on Soundcloud, and I completely forgot it even excisted. Which is a shame, to be fair. I think the majority of people have forgotten about the Powerstomp sound. Which is a shame, to be fair. Only a handful of artists are still keeping it alive and kicking, but it's not as big as it was 4/5 years ago. And that's a shame. Lethal Theory did manage to keep us raving with the Powerstomp sound, and the albums released around that time all got devoured by yours truly. I was such a fan, and still like it a lot. I did review this many years ago, and I think it's fitting for me to re-review it. Maybe this could be the chance of it making a comeback? What do you all think, should this deserve a second chance? I think it should. 01. Joey Riot & Mob - This Could Be Love 02. Joey Riot & No Sweat - Show Us The Way 03. Joey Riot & Sophie J - Something To Believe In 04. Joey Riot & No Sweat feat MC Jack - Bringing The Fire 05. D-Code - My Direction (Joey Riot vs Jaw D Remix) 06. Joey Riot vs Demize - Love Me Or Hate Me 07. Joey Riot vs Bean - Dirty Ho 08. Joey Riot - Music Is My Life 09. Joey Riot vs Jay Prescott - Totally Lost It (Anthem) It's a short but very pleasing mix. 32 minutes of Joey Riot. As you would expect from the Powerstomp King, the mix is very tight. No errors whatsoever, and only the finest tunes from around 2014/2015. Most of us already have all the compilations released from around that time, and I think it's time for us all to relive the moment, and put those banging tunes back on the map again. Seriously, there's nothing wrong with this mix. It's bloody Joey fucking Riot behind the decks. The tracks are as tight as you expect them to be. Oh, and have I mentioned the fact that it's still a free download? So you kill two birds with one stone. Or does that saying not apply to this situation? Well, just fucking download this mix, I know you want to. Joey was involved in many Powerstomp project around that time, and in this mix you will only find his record and 8 collaborations. It's all about Joey, and that's a good thing. I'd rather listen to his older stuff than any other present day fashionable music played on the radio. Joey Riot 4 life, man. A wonderful mix. Best record has to be 'Something To Believe In'. Vocals are just so pure. But so is the mix. I don't know what the score of this original review was, but if I'd given it less than the score I'm giving it now, I'm going to shoot myself in the foot. Get this down ya, ya wee lads. Yes, that's me trying to say something Scottish. - Lady Dana @ Ghosttown 2016
I've been on an oldschool path lately. Listening to only Oldskool Hardcore music, be it Happy or Gabber, I had to listen to it. Maybe it's my age that's making me aware that I'm soon too old to rave (my body has already started to deteriorate quickly in the last 5 years lol), but there's stil some passion left in my body. And the only kind of music that I can listen to and really let myself go to, is the early sound. The 90s, they were simply the best. And true ravers will agree. And even some younger ravers (who weren't even fabricated in the 90s) agree. I only found this set online this morning. And you can image that I was as happy as a hobo (only true Hardcore fans know that this was a Neophyte joke). Lady Dana @ Ghosttown 2016. The Queen of Hardcore. She's still my number 1 female Hardcore DJ. She gave me so much pleasure during the 90s and early 00s (I know it sounds wrong, but you know what I mean). I only had the pleasure to see her in Kerkade at club Vizion on Friday the 29th of August 2003. That's fucking 16 years ago! Don't know what happened to Vizion, but I hold good memories of the night. Don't even know who I went with? Well, that's my raving history in a nutshell. For the raving masses Lady Dana (or also known as Dana to the Hardstyle fanatics) does not need an introduction. She's been around for many years, and to have her play at Ghosttown was an obvious choice. The line-up for this event did look really good: Jones & Stephenson, Rob & MC Joe, G-Town Madness, MD&A, Darkraver, Frantic Freak, Amada, Kasparov, Promo, N-Vitral, Noize Suppressor, etc. Even though on Soundcloud it didn't have a tracklist, obviously somewhere else it was available. So here it is, for all you Hardcore junkies out there: 01. System 3 - Like A Shot 02. Meagashira - End Of Line 03. Rave Creator & The Mover - Atmos-Fear 04. The Viper - X-Terminate 05. Pilldriver - Pitch-Hiker w/ The Ultimate Buzz feat MC Bee - On A Mission (Acapella) 06. Myztic vs Myrmidon - Pop Goes The Pistol (DJ J.D.A. Remix) 07. U4EA - Crisia (Stunned Guys Remix) 08. The Stunned Guys & Darrien Kelly - Our Definition Of The Old Style 09. Baba Nation - Jesus Words 10. Lenny Dee - The Dreamer 11. DJ Weirdo & DJ Sim - Kick This Muthaf#@ka 12. Chosen Few - Name Of The DJ (Buzz Fuzz Remix) 13. Masters Of Ceremony - Hardcore To The Bone (Masters Of Ceremony Dope Mix) 14. Human Resource - Dominator '96 15. Buzz Fuzz - Introkiller (Work It!) 16. Mike Ink & The Chain Of Brotherhood - Lovely Ugly Brutal World 17. DJ Waxweazle - Hardcore Power (Hellsound Mix) 18. Neophyte - Back In My Brain 19. Raveman - Drum Meet Da Bass (Hardcore Mix) 20. Tripax - What The Fuck Are You Laughing At? 21. Buzz Fuzz - Intergalatic 22. DJ 8Mix - Hardiness 23. The Original Gabber - Pump That Puzzy Trust Dana to deliver an excellent Hardcore set. A shame that she didn't include a few of her own productions in here. But the records she did select did do Hardcore justice. She knows how to get the raving masses moving, and to me she still holds the title Queen to this day. Just listen to this set and disagree, if you dare. The set is an hour long, and within that hour she takes you on a trip down to memory lane. Not only does she show that she knows a thing or two about good Hardcore tracks, she also shows her excellent DJ skills. Credit for that! The tracks chosen are good. From the 23 tracks only 2 were in here I didn't like (Intergalatic and Pop Goes The Pistol), but that's only my opinion. You might like them, or hate them too. But does that make this mix set not worth listening? Absofuckinglutely not! You need to hear this. Unless you don't want to experience that trip down memory lane. A wicked set by the Queen. I'm going to go on a hunt and see if I can find more Lady Dana sets. Obviously the Hardcore sets. Not saying that I dislike Hardstyle, but she's my Hardcore Queen, and she will always remain that. I grew up with her as a Hardcore Queen. There must be at least 1 or 2 sets on Soundcloud, right? - Raving Nightmare Tribute Vinyl Mix (2017)
Raving Nightmare. 5 years ago they organised their last event. And I was devastated, with many other ravers. This party was the highlight for many Southern Dutch people. Since 1994 until 2014 they gave us constant Hardcore music. Judging Partyflock's statistics, they organised in 20 years around 65 parties! 65 Raving Nightmare's, and I've only been to one? The one that I went to was back in 2008, called Brutal Truth. The line-up was really good: Amnesys, Mad Dog, Neophyte, Panic, Promo, Masters Of Ceremony, Tommyknocker, Dione, Endymion, Dana, Vince, Triax, Day-Mar, and that's just the main stage! It left a good impression on me. Sadly never had the time after to go to an event (I was mostly working Saturday evenings or nightshifts, whilst they all went raving). Met The Darkraver at my service station though, in the middle of the night. But whatever it was, it stopped. And do you sometimes get an urge to reminisce to the good ol' days? I had that. I needed to hear something Raving Nightmare-ish, and came across this tribute mix. I couldn't let this one pass without letting you hear the music. The good thing about this is that the music always had a distinctive sound, like Thunderdome and Masters Of Hardcore. It just has a specific kick. And I do miss it! These records used for this tribute mix take me back. 01. The Stunned Guys & DJ Paul - Thrillseeka (The Stunned Guys 2004 Reload) 02. DJ D feat MC Justice - Embrace The Mystery 03. The Viper & Tommyknocker feat MC Da Mouth Of Madness - The Prophecy Unfolds (Tha Playah Remix) 04. Art Of Fighters feat MC Justice - Premonition 05. Vinyl Junk vs Kokka - Fractured Minds 06. Triax - Become One 07. Triax - Chronic Beats (2008 Edit) 08. Triax - Day Of Rage 09. Evil Activities feat DJ Panic & MC Alee - Bigger Than Ever 10. Triax - Prozium 11. Negative A - 1976 12. Triax - Fallen Angels 13. Negative A - I Beat Your Mama's Ass (KVN Remix) Boy, I felt like a mid 20-ers again for a split second! Memories! Going to Brutal Truth with two colleagues from Total, sadly one passed away (RIP Mile). But what a night it was. Knackered, that's what I was the next day. And the music used in this tribute mix reminds of the good years of Hardcore. Especially Triax's records! His music suited me so much. Sadly you don't hear from him that often. Anyway, this tribute mix. It's a fitting tribute to a majestic party. 20 years, all over the country, but mainly the South of Limburg. Maastricht, Heerlen. We had it. And we lost it. It brings a tear to my eye thinking about it. We did organise good parties. Now we've got Pinkpop. What a load of shite that is. Bring back Raving Nightmare! Those were the shit. Or even the Exlipse in Landgraaf! I'm gettting old too fucking quickly. The tribute mix does contain a few little errors. Not as bad as the previous review (which was shockingly bad). But enough to mention it. The tracks selected by the DJ make the mix worth while though. So many fanfuckingtastic songs. You've seen the tracklist, you know I'm talking real stuff here. No bollocks. Nothing can beat this kind of Hardcore music. It was so good. Why has it changed? Best record? You can start a debate, but you will loose. It has to be 'Embrace The Mystery'. Just the best. Fact. Enjoy this mix. Especially if you raved at a Raving Nightmare party. Can someone organise another party like they did back in the late 2000s? I miss it. - Happy Hour part 4
I don't need to express my love and dedication for Happy Hardcore. You all know that I grew up with this kind of music coming through my speakers 24/7. And many have mocked it, but I still stayed a fan, and am passionate about it. Those who mock it, can f**k off. Happy Hardcore is so genuine, so melodic, so happy, so everything I need. And why would you hate it? Yes, it can be cheesy, but not everything should be hard and rough all the time, eh? I wanted to hear a Happy Hardcore mix badly today. Don't know why, but the urge was there. And I found one. Made by someone called Happy Hour. And the thing that grabbed me was the lettering they used in their image: just like the Happy Hardcore/Happy Rave collection released by Arcade during the 90s! Nostalgia! Oh yeah, I was lucky. So I jumped on the band wagon and pressed play, after quickly checking out if it had a tracklist (and it did). So here it is. And let me warn you: these are not the full titles (some remixes are in here, but the details are missing): 01. Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Stars 02. Tokyo Ghetto Pussy - I Kiss Your Lips 03. Dune - Can't Stop Raving 04. Interactive - Forever Young 05. 4 Tune Fairytales - My Little Fantasy 06. Party Animals - Have You Ever Been Mellow? 07. DJ Paul Elstak - Don't Leave Me Alone 08. Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Hardcore Feelings 09. Dune - Rainbow To The Stars 10. DJ Weirdo & DJ Sim - Pump That Stupid Bass 11. Scooter - Back In The UK 12. Wonderland - In Our Dreams 13. Tiny Tot - Discoland 14. 2 Unlimited - Jump For Joy You all know that I'm quite open minded about mixes, and forgive a lot of DJs when they make a little mistake here and there. I'm a nice guy. But this mix, boy, it's just riddled with mistakes! It's really the worst mix I've ever heard! And that's disappointing. Looking at the tracklist, how can you go wrong? The tracks are solid as a rock, so there's nothing wrong with them! Yes, cheesy, I know. But still part of my childhood, so what. But the mixing is so poorly executed, it's kind of a disgrace. The transition is just out of line constantly, and fading doesn't seem to happen correctly. I know that the one who's behind this is probably doing it for the fun of it, but I don't know if I should take it seriously. Making fun is one thing, but this is just beyond a joke. And if they are still learning, that's fine, but please start putting mixes on Soundcloud when they are actually 'good' enough for others to listen to. This mix proves that a long path has to be walked before 'good' is within reach. Again, no complaints about the music. The tracks selected are just spot on, exactly what I want to hear. But I have to not listen to this one ever again. Sorry Happy Hour, this isn't my finest hour either, but I've got to give this the lowest score ever. - Losion - Imminent EP (2019)
I was contacted a few weeks ago via my website, to see if I'd be interested in reviewing an upcoming EP by Losion, released on Outtallectuals. Now, there have been times when I said 'no' because I was already disappointed after hearing the first tune (being so dramatically bad), but this time I though I should give this a go. Even though I've never listened to a Neuroprog song before, I am open to hear other styles. And I was intrigued. Thankfully they provided me with enough information to get through this EP with all the necessary details to observe this as good as I can. Never been introduced to this sound, or even the artist, but it's never too late to appreciate music, eh? Losion is a French artist. and his EP is called 'Imminent'. This will be released on the 14th of April of this year, and what can you expect? A 5 track EP containing some prog rock/metal with modern Neuro Bass. Now, I might be a bit thick, but Neuro Bass? That's new to me. So, I gave it a go. And was I disappointed? Not really. Even though I normally listen to hard style music, this did bring some harmony in my head. Rock and Neuro Bass. I never thought I could be so relaxed and mellowed out. The 5 tracks on these EP are: 01. Losion - Opal 02. Losion - Imminent 03. Losion - Resolution 04. Losion - Fracture 05. Losion - Swarm Expect the unexpected! From raw and rough guitar sections to lovely and peaceful breakdowns. Harmonic, and also mellow. Hard and 'in your face'. All that in a 5 EP? Yes, that can happen. At first I was expecting to hear 5 of the same records, but they weren't. I did get this vibe throughout this EP that reminded me of the gaming sensation you get once you fire up your console. This is music that fits a specific kind of game. But can you listen to this without your console being on? Yes. I love the build up in each record. Losion keeps us on our toes by building up towards a climax, and combines the Rock sound with the futuristic dance sounds. It works beautifully, and isn't overpowering at all. Let's break down each song: 'Opal' is a track that makes you want to see the world in a different perspective. At first you walk through life, and when the guitars come in, you just want to rush through it all, not give a flying f**k about everything and everyone around you. You just want to let yourself go. 'Imminent'. Well. This is rough and raw. 5 minutes and 46 seconds of roughness. I'm not an expert on Rock, but this is hard for me. 'Resolution'. Again, I'm not an expert, but this song makes me want to run through the walls (in a good way). This has an excellent build up, and the drums do the song justice. I had this feeling of having superpowers and wanting to tackle the world's problems, whilst wearing this ridicilous outfit. SuperDutchman anyone? 'Fracture'. Is this the kind of music you should listen to when you have a bone in your body fractured? You might think it's soft and squigy, but when the guitar starts playing, you do not know where to look! It's powerful and strong. 'Swarm'. Oh yes. This is my kind of music. Relaxing. A bit of guitars in it (and drums too), but the general gist of this song is peace and tranquility. You've guessed it, 'Swarm' is my favourite record of this EP. But would I personally purchase this EP? Well, now I've heard it, I would. Sadly I would not have been able to appreciate this without the assistance, because this kind of music would never appear on my timeline anywhere, but I'm really enjoying this. It might be rough from time to time, but the vibes I'm getting from this EP is just sheer happiness and bliss. When this is released I will add a Soundcloud player underneath. Obviously it's not available yet, but I will let you enjoy this once it's out. Make sure you favourite this EP, and get it via your normal music sources. Losion is an inspirational artist, and his EP is just what I needed to hear! If you want to read more about Losion, click here . Or if you are interested in the label behind this release, click here
- Neptune Project Live Buenos Aires 4 1/2 Hour Set Sept 6th 2013
The last couple of days I was off, spending my time with the missus in Barry, Wales. Now that might not sound exciting, and to be fair, it wasn't. The weather wasn't really helpfull, but at least we were together. The journey that took us there took about 3 hours, and during those treacherous hours I decided to listen to a nice Trance set, which I found the other day. A set I'd not heard of before, or not even knew the artist. But a set long enough for me to enjoy it fully. This set certainly is long enough: 4 1/2 hours long. Could have driven halfway towards Scotland. Neptune Project. Should I have known them? I really do not have a clue who they are. But I'm not here to explain who they are, because I'm not Wikipedia. You should do your own research. I'm here to entertain you with bollocks reviews. So let's talk about the mix, shall we? It was recorded in Buenos Aires back in 2013, and it's 4 1/2 hours long. And the set is focussed on Trance music. Who doesn't want to hear Trance music? If you have checked out their set already, you would have seen the tracklist, and it would have made you excited. If you haven't seen it already, make sure you put on your reading glasses, and glance at this beast of a tracklist! 01. Above & Beyond - Tokyo 02. Did I mention this already, that this set is 4 1/2 hours long? If you were craving a Trance set, voila! Do not look any further. The set starts beautifully, and the flow is continuous. You cannot control your feelings, you feel the need to raise your hands in the air and let yourself go. The good thing about this set is the fact that they did include a few of their own productions/remixes in here, so if you are unaware of who they are and what they are capable of (like yours truly), this could be your introduction! Nothing much is mentioned about the event they played at, but that's nothing really that interesting. There is something much more interesting for you all: this is a free download. So go to Soundcloud and press the download button! You know you want to. The set contains so many wicked records, most of them from the early years of Trance, and to me they are the best years. So melodic, so deep, so inspiring. And to choose from 45 amazing records is too damn hard, but I had to pick on favourite, and it has to be 'Sincere', remixed by Smith & Pledger. Wicked anthem. The only 'downside' to this mix is the record quality. But unless you aren't as picky as I am, you will highly enjoy this mix. Did I mention the fact that this is a free download already? Check it out right now! I wish I could drive again a 3 hours journey, just to hear these anthems again. But trust me, I will have shit journeys this week: some even take longer... - Omar Santana - Fire In The Brain (1997)
magpie303. Where would I be without his endless stream of music? His channel is one of the dopest ones on Soundcloud, if you are into Hardcore music. His page contains so many old mixes, livesets and more. And only recently did I find a dope ass mixtape from 1997 by the mighty Omar Santana! Never knew this mixtape even excisted! But from the first moment I heard it, I was hooked The tracklist also looked very appealing! I know nothing about this mixtape. Nothing at all. I had to Google it to find a bit more information, but it mostly came back negative. It's a mysterious mixtape from 1997, obviously recorded onto a cassette, and was divided into two sections. The first mix was on one cassette, and the other on the other. Simple. Time was much simpler back then. Cassettes and Sony's 'My First Walkman', more you didn't need. Oh, and an open mind, that could have been useful. Omar Santana, this American legend, his mixtape is ridicilous! Just look at the tracklist, enough reason to give you goosebumps! 01. DJ Bomber - Rambo Goes Riot 02. Omar Santana - Am Mayhem 03. Omar Santana - Kick Some Shit 04. Tellurian - Guyver 05. Dano - Starting Up 06. Masoko Solo - Pessa Pessa (Prophet Mix) 07. Neophyte - Execute 08. Networxx - On Your Own 09. 3Dom - Nasty Drums/Confusion 10. Nasenbluten - Cut Her To Bits 11. DJ Mike Ski - Old Dirty Beats (Mike-Ski Original Mix) 12. The Nightraver & DJ Trevor - Rave Is The Word 13. Omar Santana - Noise Dive 14. Omar Santana & Scott Brown - Shoot This MF 15. New York Terrorist - Short Fuse 16. Lunalotic - Happy House...?? 17. The Coalition - 9MM 18. Human Resource - Dominator '96 19. Omar Santana - Mad Creator (Hard Mix) 20. Predator - The Strongest Gang (The Hood) 21. DJ Freak - I Am The Master Of Techno 22. Cybernators - Not Responsible !!! 23. Omar Santana - Slamma Jamma 24. Cybernators - No Out Of Here This is such an interesting mix! American Hardcore from the 90s was so different and yet exciting. I remember the History Of Hardcore CD compilation, with DJs Rob Gee, Delirium and Omar Santana, I played that one until the CD became unplayable. So damn good, so unique, so rough. Not saying the Dutch didn't do it as hard as they did, but they had this unique sound to it. One that appealed to me. The focus is on the bass, and you can feel it. Just make sure you are listening to this mix with decent speakers to assist. You can thank me after. So many forgotten classics! These records are just all-time classics! If I had to choose between this and the present day Hardcore, I would obviously choose this! This is beyond belief. This is powerful Hardcore. So much memories this has generated. The quality of each anthem is just wicked, and it has stood the test of time! 22 years later it's still as good as you would expect it! But which record is my favourite? Well, it was difficult. 'Slamma Jamma' is great, 'Rave Is The Word' reminds me of Thunderdome 96, but 'Pessa Pessa', remixed by The Prophet, that's the best. The darkness of this version is just picture perfect. Maybe dated, but from an era when Hardcore was so innovative! A FANTASTIC mixtape. Listen to it NOW! - Trance Rebooted Volume 9 (2019)
I can't remember when it was that I reviewed a DJ Slipstream mix. It must have been a while. And after checking the actual mix, I came to the conclusion that it has been a year. A year ago I found his 'Trance Rebooted' mix on Soundcloud, and it was interesting. A different approach. And I like it. Trance is the most beautiful style out there, and whenever I hear the music, it just fills me with happiness and excitement. Trance can do no harm. And you will find this mix just exactly that: it just becomes part of your surroundings. Slipstream's selection is again really good and exciting. He has selected a few records from upcoming acts, and a few of well known artists, so this should blend well nicely. For the next hour or so, you will be intoxicated. This is the music I grew up with, and it's nice to hear that the sound is still alive and kicking. And oh so powerful too! 01. Flutlicht - The Fall (Akira Kayosa Fallen Remix) 02. DJ Albert - 4G (Akira Kayosas 8G Refurb) 03. Tillmann Uhrmacher - On The Run (Dreamy & Kinetica Remake) 04. Motorcylce - As The Rush Comes (Sunset Remix) 05. System F - Exhale (Jon Martin 2013 Remix) 06. EnMass - CQ (Seek You) (The Cracken Extended Remix) 07. Filterheadz - Yimanya (David Asprey Remix) 08. Chicane - Offshore (Ferry Tayle 'Luminosity At Beach' Remix) 09. Transa - Supernova (Lost Wonder Bootleg) 10. Transa - Transtar (Jksound Remix) 11. Hennes & Cold - The Second Trip (David Forbes Extended Remix) 50% of these records I know, and 50% of them are unknowns. And even those I know of, these version picked by Slipstream, are unknown to me. But they do the original justice. And that's what it's all about. The mix is pure. It's beautiful. It's like a nice sunny day. You cannot hate it. It's just perfect. The flow is good throughout this mix and he keeps us on our toes. I cannot think of one single thing wrong with this mix. My only advise is to listen to this mix. No mucking about this time. Just listen. - M@rt!n-J - Best Of Slammin Vinyl Hardcore Heaven Vol. 2 (2019)
Ah! M@rt!n-J is back with yet another slamming mix. You thought I nearly forgot about him, the regular to this site? He's back with a brand new mix. About 8 months ago he made the first mix, focussing on the first Slammin Vinyl's Hardcore Heaven, and now, as you guessed it, it's time for the second instalment. Which is probably the best mix, containing records from volume 2 of this successful series. It's an epic series, and this mix has already reached 19.6k plays within 12 days! That's impressive! But let's focus on the actual mix and its content. It's taken from the CD released back in 2005. And I think I had it shipped to me from the UK to the Netherlands (I was still living there), and it did cost me quite a fortune. The first one was a catch for me, and when the second one was presented, I had to get it. The third one was good also. Sadly the fourth instalment wasn't my favourite, but still good. But this series proved to be successful, and I'm still wondering why they stopped releasing these? In a short lifespan of 2 years they released these (2005-2006) and stopped. Thankfully Hardcore Underground took over the rights, and now releases a revamped version of this series. But it's not the same. This was released during UK Hardcore's best years. The music from 2005 and 2006 cannot be beaten. Hence why this mix already reached so many plays: people are craving the old sound. Let me show you the tracklist. You will weep. You will feel nostalgic. This is what we are missing! 01. Force & Styles - Pacific Sun (Sy & Unknown Remix) 02. Gammer - Mind Blowing 03. DJ Kurt - Break The Law 04. Brisk & Ham - In Your Life (Gammer Remix) 05. Joey Riot - Hardcore 2 Da Bone 06. Al Twisted & DJ JFX - In Comes 07. Brisk & Ham - Angel Eyes (Vagabond Remix) 08. Deeper Territory - Deep Space 09. Brisk & Vagabond - Night & Dayz 10. AMS - Check This Out 11. Kevin Energy - Waves Of Desire (Mark Ashley & K-Complex Remix) 12. Kevin Energy - Feel The Heat 13. Eryk Orpheus & Mark Ashley - The Tormentor 14. Eryk Orpheus - I'm The Daddy 15. Sharkey & Oli G - Sci-Fi 16. The Stunned Guys - You Will Survive That's a nicely balanced mix. One half UK Hardcore, and the other half Freeform (and one Gabber track). Oh yeah! The first section of this mix focusses on the UK Hardcore/Happy Hardcore side of the second instalment. And it does contain those classic dancefloor smashers! The ones still doing damage in 2019. The second section focusses on the Freeform side, and these (to me) are the forgotten gems. For me this is the kind of Freeform that needed more development, and it needed to turn into the music it is nowadays. It wasn't there yet. I'd rather listen to newskool Freeform than the older stuff. But it's the opposite for me for UK Hardcore. Give me 2005-2006 UK Hardcore all days long. M@rt!n-J, credit for making yet another wicked mix. No flaws. Just picture perfect. And him asking us 'if people get interested' he might do a volume 3? That's not even a question mate, just fecking do it! We need these mixes a lot! - Re-Style - Ultimate 2005-2015 Hardcore Megamix (2019)
Is Masters of Hardcore happening today? I think I read it somewhere on Facebook that tonight is the night. Thousands of ravers/gabbers will rave until the early dawn, and what they hear is obviously Hardcore music. Be it 'old' or new, you get everything thrown at you at MOH. And it's one of those events I would really like to go to, but sadly or I am busy when it takes place, or I simply forget. One day I might. Hopefully. To get everyone excited for tonight's event, Re-Style made this rather excellent megamix, containing records from 2005 until 2015. A decade during which a lot has happened. Hardcore gained its strength again, and has changed completely. Nowadays the focus is uptempo Hardcore, but to me the years 2005 until 2015 are still amazing. Just look at the 56 records Re-Style have put into this 30 minute long mix. It's a flashback to the good old days. And I'm loving it. You've got to give Re-Style credit for making this excellent mix. Really entertaining stuff. But you want to see the tracklist, right? And you should. So here it is: 01. Evil Activities - Evilution (Intro Edit) 02. Endymion - Payback (Tommyknocker's Yes I Am Remix) 03. Amnesys - Worldwide Crisis 04. Re-Style - Right Here Right Now 05. Angerfist feat Cixx & Kokka - Brother's Keepers 06. Tha Playah & Evil Activities - Imperial 07. Re-Style - For The Masses 08. Angerfist & Predator - Legend 09. Endymion - Abduction 10. Tommyknocker - Criminal 11. Angerfist - Bite Yo Style 12. Re-Style - Renovation 13. Tommyknocker - Criminal 14. Noize Suppressor - Hardcore Junky 15. Neophyte, The Viper & Tha Playah - Master This 16. Angerfist - From The Blackness 17. Amnesys - Elevation 18. Nosferatu - When Angels Cry 19. Dyprax & Angerfist - The Pearly Gates 20. Neophyte & Tha Playah - Still Nr. 1 21. Angerfist - Radical 22. AniMe - Detonate 23. Re-Style - Asskicked (AniMe Remix) 24. Tha Playah - Fuck The Titties (The Viper & Tommyknocker Remix) 25. Nosferatu & Endymion - Another Way Up 26. Angerfist feat Crucifier - Broken Chain (Mad Dog Remix) 27. Evil Activities - Never Fall Asleep (Tha Playah Remix) 28. Amnesys - 4D Future 29. Outblast - Superhero Complex 30. Angerfist - In A Million Years (Nosferatu Remix) 31. Miss K8 - Breathless 32. Re-Style - Mastermind 33. Outblast & Korsakoff - Hymn Of Syndicate 34. Tommyknocker - Domination 35. Miss K8 & MC Nolz - Metropolis Of Massacre 36. Outblast - Electro Shocking (Dyprax Remix) 37. Noize Suppressor - Nobody Likes 38. Endymion & The Viper - Raging In The Dancehall (The Outside Agency Remix) 39. Re-Style - Wasteland 40. Tha Playah - Bounce Back 41. Tommyknocker feat The Wishmaster - Supernatural 42. Outblast & Angerfist feat Tha Watcher - Voice Of Mayhem 43. Re-Style - Get It Crackin (2013 Edit) 44. State Of Emergency - Crack It 45. DaY-mAr - Guess What 46. Re-Style - The Conquest Of Fury 47. Angerfist & Outblast - Delusion 48. Tha Playah - The Impact 49. Bloodcage - Martyr 50. Miss K8 - Poison 51. Nosferatu & Evil Activities - Sick Of It All 52. Tommyknocker - One Sick DJ 53. Angerfist - Street Fighter 54. Mad Dog & AniMe - Hardcore Machine 55. Tha Playah - My Misery 56. Unexist - Attack (Mad Dog Remix) Now this is an excellent looking tracklist. It brings a smile and a tear to my eye. So many great classic anthems, and also a few I've forgotten about. And that's the good thing about these mixes: you always hear records you didn't hear for a while. Not because they were shite, but just because you are overloaded with music constantly, and they were pushed into the background slowly. Thanks Re-Style for making me feel like a late teenager again (fuck, I was already a twenty-something back in 2005). How he's done it is beyond me. I don't have a clue. It's astonishing to hear this megamix being so sweet and so smooth. It's impressive to fit in so many records in only half an hour long mix: some records only get airtime for 20 seconds! This is quick mixing, and I like it. It does make me crave for the full length records, but that's not going to be an issue: I've got the MOH collection anyway, so I just need to go through them all, again and again. MOH will happen, and I hope the ravers are going to have a wonderful time there. This will set the mood just right. For me it was just picture perfect, and many do agree on Soundcloud. Many are also craving the early to late 2000 Hardcore sound. Oh how it has changed. I'm really feeling this mix, and so should you. Check this beast out right now! Oh, and it's also downloadable! Christmas has come early! Best record by the way? All 56 of them! - Jumpstyle Megamix 2013
Jumpstyle. Who still listens to that? I don't know if there are still a few fans out there, but for those who still like the oldskool Jump sound from the early years, I found a nice mix for you all to listen to. With a fucking creepy picture. I do not understand the link between this creature and Jumpstyle, besides the 'tats'. But anyway, the music! The mix I'm about to talk about, was made 5 years ago. By someone called Kain Morter a.k.a. DJ P.W.B. Never heard of the DJ before, or don't know what he does. But I came across his mix on Soundcloud by accident. I was looking for a Jumpstyle mix with a tracklist, and I think his came on top. But what kind of Jumpstyle was I looking for? Well, as the kids call it, I was looking for Retro Jumpstyle. Now you might think that I lost the plot, but I haven't. I had this craving for the early Jumpstyle stuff. And DJ P.W.B.'s mix contains a few classics, and also a lot of unknown records to me. Let's dive straight into the tracklist. I think that's the easiest way forward, eh? 01. Seb B - Out Going 02. DJ Groove - Come Back (DJ Groove TAG Mix) 03. Attractive - Attraction 04. Samuel Sanders - Temptation 05. Relic - The Hard Dancer 06. DJ LB - Cross Over (Original Mix) 07. DJ Frank - Story (Jump Mix) 08. The Bang Stylerz - This Is House Music 09. Wordenz - Game Star 10. Fly - Indian Feelings (Original Mix) 11. Freyo - High Density 12. Berliner Old Skool Posse - Dominator 13. Club St. D. - Dopamina (Jump Remix) 14. Deep Sounds - Chaos Theory 15. Oxley - A-One 16. DJ Sneak - Fear The World 17. Dirty Jack - Wake Up 18. The Retro Project - Das Boot (DJ Pat B Remix) 19. Polycarpus - The Organ Plaza 20. DJ Greg C - 10-Torsion (Original Mix) 21. Bad Boyz - Jump Up! 22. Furious Trax - Orbite 23. Jacky Core - La La Love 24. DJ Furax - Knobbers (Club Mix) 25. Dr Rude - Jump The Fuck Up 26. Da Boy Tommy - Kol Nedra 2005 (Da Hard Vocal Mix) 27. DJ Massiv vs The Rebel - 7 Ways To Blow The Box (DJ Greg C Remix) 28. DJ Danny - Rook 'N' Roll (Original Mix) 29. D-Trax - ILL (Straight Mix) 30. DJ Furax - In Concert (Jump Mix) I have to say that I've got to give DJ P.W.B. credit for making this a really diverse tracklist. Don't know where he magically got these underground classics from, but they made my day. Especially those so dark and edgy. They are the classics I needed to hear. The mix itself does contain some good moments, but also some bad moments. I do not have a clue what happened during 'Knobbers', but the sound got extremely distorted! Probably the levels too high. Never go red. Always remain in green, eh? And also some cross fading sections weren't on spot. But as P.W.B. said, it's a home mix. So I reckon it's made with a smile on his face, and he wasn't bothered about the sound quality. Well, after judging the mix again, the amount of mistakes are sadly too high. The sound levels are throughout the mix extremely fucked up. That's sad, I would have given this mix higher. But the sound man, that's one thing you should look at. Best record would have been 'Knobbers', if the sound quality was good. But instead I choose 'Game Star', panned on Youtube as a 'shite' record. But I like it. This could have been a really wicked mix, but so many things are against it. I'm sorry. But this is a no-go for me. DJ: P.W.B. - WINTER HARDCORE 2018 MIX
Am I the only one who doesn't know who Lil Texas is? I've been seeing his name everywhere over the last couple of weeks, and I'm still unsure who he is. But what I have noticed is that his tracks on Soundcloud get ridicilous amounts of plays. Even this mix I'm about to talk about. 41.5k+ plays within 3 months. And I'm not even sure I understand the concept of this mix, or what the meaning is behind Texcore. Maybe his fans can explain to me what it means? At first I thought he was Dutch, or Flemish, seeing as he had a few Dutch records in here (with Dutch vocals), but he's not. I reckon (if my judgment is correct) he's from Texas, and he likes his music to be rough, raw, and extremely hard. 200 BPM is nothing for him. But even the build up in this mix is rather unusual. I'm not sure on how to categorise this type of mixes. Weird to say the least. Maybe that's the way to describe this mix. This is quirky. This is weird. And just my thing. I love weird things. It tickles me. It makes me moist. And excited. But does that mean I'm a fan? Well, maybe. But let me show you the tracklist, before you get too excited.... 01. Crypsis & D-Fence - Vol Gas Met Die Bass 02. Blaster & Sandy Warez - Psystep 03. Stereotype - Out Of This World 04. Anime feat Dave Revan - The Third Invasion 05. Nosferatu & Public Enemies - Unified Demolition 06. Noize Suppressor - Shit Down 07. Anime - Playing Terror 08. Wreck Reality - Real Don 09. Deadly Guns & Ncrypta - Rip It Open 10. Broken Minds - Bow Down 11. Deadly Guns & E-Force - Invincible 12. Anime - Liar (Destructive Tendencies Remix) 13. Furyan - Money Maker 14. GRAVEDGR - Rampage (KAMI x Greater Than Remix) 15. Repix - Ultimate Neophyte Tribute 16. Detest & Tripped - Revolution 17. Andy The Core & The Melodyst - Italian Psycho 18. Blaster - Crazy Shit 19. Miss K8 - Out Of The Frame 20. N-Vitral & Bombsquad - Poison Spitter 21. Odium - Kill 22. D-Sturb & Sefa - Nothing Like The Oldschool 23. LIL TEXAS - I Am Excited 24. LIL TEXS - ID 25. Andy The Core - Brutal Method 26. Lady Dammage & Andy The Core - I8U 27. Blaster & Sandy Warez - Big Drop 28. Minus Militia - Gas D'r Op (Militant Edit) 29. LIL TEXAS - ID 30. NSD - Hai La Noi 31. Angernoizer & D-Fence - Afbreken 32. LIL TEXAS - Speed Freak 33. De Schiedamse Schutters & Krimpsens Geweld - Pokkeherrie (Chaotic Hostility Remix) 34. Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz - We Feel Like A Fuck See, I told you this mix is odd. I wouldn't have expected someone from Texas pushing Hardcore music forward. And I don't mean that patronising. It's only a compliment to the scene: Hardcore is indeed all over the world. It does dominate the world. The mix is weird, and I do like it. Not each and every record, but at least LIL TEXAS keeps us on our feet. There's no stopping us. I just don't understand the concept. It's as weird as GPF. I like it, but can't explain it. Best record? 'Rip It Open' by Deadly Guns & Ncrypta. Well, I might have a smooch around, to see who this LIL TEXAS is. And I'll give him a follow. If this is how he mixes in general (and not just during the winter period), I'm intrigued. More of this would be appreciated. - Painbringer - Early Hardcore Goes Ibiza 2019 (Promo Mix)
Sometimes you go onto Soundcloud or Mixcloud, and your gut is telling you that you will find a really epic mix. Yesterday was such a day. I found a mix, focussed on the event called Ibiza Goes Hard, and this promo mix was played during the 304th edition of the Twisted's Darkside Podcast. And you have seen the image above, you know who made this mix: Painbringer. The one who is keeping the oldschool Hardcore alive. And you have got to give him credit for it. Every die-hard raver loves the early stuff. Unless you are too young and do not have a clue that there's a music style alive since the early 90s. But don't worry: Painbringer is here to educate yourselves. In this mix he selected his favourite Early Hardcore tracks and a few forgotten classics. Those gems that everyone loved at the time, but got buried underneath the mainstream Hardcore tunes. And let's not forget: Painbringer's own music back catalogue. You are going to find shitloads of his productions in here. Now that's an added bonus! It does contain a mix of old and new records, and even records I've not heard before. So this is going to be interesting. But worth while, trust me. 01. Painbringer - Hardcore Future 02. Undercover Anarchist - The Craziest 03. Innerchild - The Party Zone 04. Painbringer - Words Of '95 05. M--Project - Hardcore Maniac 06. DJ Rob & Tim B - Get Set 07. DJ Ruffneck - Massive 08. Painbringer - The Alpha 09. Trickster - Stop The Rhythm 10. Lockjaw - The Point 11. Painbringer - Inner War 12. Cyntex - Freestyle 13. DJ Ruffneck - 20 Bullits To Comply 14. Arjuna - Who's In The House 15. Omar Santana - World Domination 16. The Prodigy - Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix) 17. Painbringer - Everything Or Nothing 18. Painbringer - In Your Memory 19. Painbringer - Carlito's Way 20. Innerchild - Who're You Fucking With 21. Painbringer & MissBehave - Fuck You Up 22. Arvid - Fuck That Feeling 23. Arjuna - You Are A Sucker 24. Enemycore909 - Inferno 25. Reeza - Sanctity Of Life 26. Painbringer - Afterglow 27. Painbringer - Share Your Pain Now this brings back memories. Not bad ones, only good ones. This takes me back to the 90s, when I was a teenager and everything in my life was focussed on Hardcore. I lived, breathed, and basically was Hardcore. No-one could convince me that it was shite, for me it was everything. It was life. And Painbringer's mix contains those records that make me smile for hours. Thanks mate! For once it's difficult to distinguish which record is an oldschool classic and which one is new. I reckon that Painbringer records are new, and the rest are old? It's difficult, because the sound is so alike! I know that 'The Point', 'Get Set', etc are oldschool classics, but the rest sound so similar. Not updated or different. That's what I like about artists such as Painbringer, Casketkrusher, etc. They keep the sound alive, and they do it well! Best record? 'Stop The Rhythm' by Trickster. Banging record. Painbringer, you are a superstar. Your mix is dope, and it has given me goosebumps from time to time. The only record I didn't like is the Pendulum remix of the Prodigy's classic record 'Voodoo People'. I find it the least creative remix of all time, quite frankly boring as hell. But I might be the only one. A decent mix. Nothing wrong. This is the early Hardcore sound I miss. Give me more mixes like this. I much more prefer this kind of music over anything else! - Massive Tribute Mix To M.I.K.E./PUSH (Classic Vinyl Mix) (2019)
Nico. Nico Suffis. He keeps on tagging me on Facebook. And you know what? I do not mind that, not at all. Sometimes his mixes are just too long, but those that I can listen to whilst driving home, or at work, those are the ones I'm absorbing most of the time. So his latest mix. This was one I had to listen to, just because of the simple fact that M.I.K.E. / PUSH is such a recognisable name in the Trance industry. A name linked to many great anthems, and probably the greatest Trance anthem of all time. But more about that in a minute. Nico is addicted to Trance, and would you disagree with him? It's probably the best style in the whole wide world. Not one ounce of aggressive in it. It's all about peace, love, unity, and respect. And Trance music is the right style to embrace all these terms. But who would you pick if you had to make a tribute mix? Which artist does resemble Trance music in its purest form? Who is so Trance-like, he could single-handedly change the future? Yes, PUSH / M.I.K.E. It's an obvious choice of Nico. He's made other mixes too, don't get me wrong. He does release mixes nearly every week onto his Soundcloud, so if you think that this mix isn't enough for you, just check it out. But this mix stands out from all the rest. This is Trance. This is pure. This is fecking epic! Some people might say that it's the Belgian sound that makes his music great, but to me he makes borderless music. This is music embraced by every culture all over the world. PUSH has found the key of making Trance music so damn good. So Nico's choice is an obvious one. The tracklist. Well, I knew of his existance, but never knew all of his aliases! He's got quite a few. 01. Push - Strange World (Astral Projection Remix) 02. Push - Blue Midnight 03. Exposure - Magic Impuls 04. Sinead O'Connor - Troy (The Phoenix From The Flame) (Push Remix) 05. Active Sight - Out Of Our Lives 06. Music - Is This The Way I Feel 07. Push - Till We Meet Again 08. Plastic Boy - Silver Bath 09. Push vs Globe - Transformation (Push Transcendental Vocal Mix) 10. Push - Electric Eclipse 11. M.I.K.E. vs John '00' Fleming - Ice Cream 12. Plastic Boy - Live Another Life 13. Push - Journey Of Life 14. M.I.K.E. Push vs Robert Nickson - Tachyon 15. Push - The Legacy (Club Mix) 16. Plastic Boy - Angel Dust 17. Push - Strange World (2000 Remake) 18. M.I.K.E. - Turn Out The Lights 19. The Gift - The Seventh Day (Main Mix) 20. M.I.K.E. - Sunrise At Palamos 21. John '00' Fleming vs M.I.K.E. - Dame Blanche 22. M.I.K.E. - Elements For Life 23. Plastic Boy - From Here To Nowhere OK, before we continue, we ALL have to come clean: we were all looking for the 'Strange World' record, weren't we? Especially the 2000 Remake version. Fuck me sideways, up and down, this is the GREATEST piece of Trance music ever made. And Nico teases us at the beginning of the mix: I didn't see the tracklist at first, and hear the majestic piano bits, and was slightly disappointed that I heard a remix, not the one I was hoping for. But fear not, around 1:47:00 the track comes in, and destroys you completely. I melted like butter when I heard this tune. A genuine tear jerker. The power behind this mix is beyond reckoning. This is a powerful mix. A powerful 2 1/2 hours of M.I.K.E. a.k.a. PUSH. What a legend, what a superstar. This mix contains sooo many wicked anthems: it doesn't matter which event you hear these at, the crowds will unity and become one. We all raise our hands in the air and let us be enchanted by the spiritual sounds from this pioneer, this legend, this all-time hero! I can only give Nico credit for tagging me in this mix on Facebook. This is his best so far. I cannot describe the feelings this mix has generated, but if I did, I would expose myself too much, and let's not do that. Let's keep it clean and legitimate. Just fucking listen to this mix. - Welcome To 2019 Mixed By DJ Aeon
There used to be a time when Soundcloud was giving me Freeform mixes on a daily routine, but sadly that has changed. For some reason Freeform has gone a bit more underground, and it might be something you wouldn't expect it to be, but is that something to dislike? Not really. Freeform has always been this subculture and has managed to stay afloat since its creation. And if I'm honest, I do like it the way it is. Not being ruined by other styles, or run by mediocre idiots trying to get money out of it. The scene remains this powerful, because we all have one thing in common: our love for the music. And that's important! So whenever a Freeform mix is uploaded, I jump right onto it. As I said before, it sadly doesn't happen on a daily basis anymore, but still, if you look close enough, you do find interesting mixes, like the one I've got for you right now! DJ Aeon's 2018/2019 mix. The man behind Future_Proof Sounds, he decided to make a mix with the finest records from 2018 and 2019, and also include a few exclusive records not available yet. So this is our version of porn: teasing people with exclusive music. Damn you Aeon. I want to get these records now. Let me show you the tracklist. You can find the 'full' tracklist on Soundcloud (with labels and which albums they have appeared on). 01. DJ Dummy - Parallel Universe 02. Greg Peaks - Exist To Be Broken 03. Substanced - Blue Remembered Earth 04. Hedonistik Ritual - Destination 05. Transcend - Reality 06. Hedonistik Ritual - Free The World 07. Substanced - Heart Of Time (Kounta Kulture Remix) 08. Hedonistik Ritual - The Exorcism 09. OA - The Collapse (Transcend Remix) 10. Greg Peaks - States Of Consciousness 11. Alchemiist - Cybernetics 12. Kokomochi - Sibyl 13. Transcend & Cyrax - Chemist It's nice to wake up on a Sunday morning and you hear this mix coming through your speakers right into your ears. So relaxing, so awesome, so cool. Name me another style that can send you into such a relaxing mood (obviously a style linked to UK Hardcore). If you name 'House' music, you are right, but that's not the point... Anyway, DJ Aeon's mix. It contains records released on the biggest Freeform labels such as Energy Field, FINRG, Stamina Records, Tesla Tracks, and of course Aeon's own label, FutureProof Sounds. So you know instantly that these records are 'boss' records. These labels do not release any shite records, only quality. And that said, which one of the 13 records is my favourite? Come on, there's only one simple answer to that question: 'Chemist'. This fucked up Freeform record just blows your mind. It's got Transcend (and that other dude Cyrax), and some distorted vocals that just scare me. Haunting me in my sleep. I seriously woke up with those vocals in my head, I could even hear the distorted section. 2018 was a great year for Freeform, and 2019 will be yet another amazing year. I do hope to find more Freeform mixes, I do need more of these mixes in my life. DJ Aeon's mix is really a good one, to set the bar. More, please! - Smith & Brown Mix (2019)
Fan mixes. You see them more and more on social media and music platforms, and the other day I spotted yet another one. This time it was a fan mix for Smith & Brown, the upcoming Tech Trance duo who I've reviewed a few times. I did spot them a few months ago, and from that moment I got hooked. Their sound is just what I need to hear, and it turns out that I'm not the only one who is obsessed with Smith & Brown. A fan called Hamilton (no, not the Drum & Bass DJ/producer) made this fan mix. It obviously contains original Smith & Brown records, and also a few remixes they made. And the general gist of this mix is to showcase to the world that S & B are doing the right thing. They are keeping Tech Trance interesting and vibrant. Their take on it is fresh. 'Last Landing', the track that got me excited, isn't in this mix. Disappointed? Nope. There are plenty of awesome records that Smith & Brown have made, to intoxicate us all. So let me show you the tracklist, and you will be a happy bunny. 01. Smith & Brown - Foul Matter/The Sound Of Goodbye (Extended Mix) 02. Smith & Brown - We Got The Funk (Original Mix) 03. Sied van Riel - Atomic Blonde (Smith & Brown Remix) 04. Smith & Brown - Zero Cool (Original Mix) 05. Smith & Brown - Human Resources (Original Mix) 06. Smith & Brown - Flesheater (Original Mix) 07. Andski - Blossom (Smith & Brown Remix) 08. Smith & Brown - Tilt (Extended Mix) 09. Smith & Brown - Universal Chaos (Original Mix) 10. Impact - Sands Of Persia (Smith & Brown Remix) 11. Smith & Brown - Nightmare (Original Mix) 12. Christoph - Voice Of Silence (Smith & Brown Bootleg) This is really good stuff. Hamilton has made a fantastic fan mix, and I know that the boys are fan of this mix. Of course they are, it's filled with tunes made by themselves! What's not to like? Well, you might be very picky and not like the fact that it's not downloadable, but if that's the reason, you are a tight arse. If you are like me, and you don't see anything wrong with this mix, you are a legend. I've got nothing negative to comment. This is a blissfull mix, containing just the right amount of songs to keep us going. It's such a bliss. I feel mellow and so extremely happy after hearing this for the 34th time, as I normally do after hearing a mix by S&B. Check this fan mix out. And whilst you are at it, check out Smith & Brown on Facebook! It's so worth it, if you love Tech Trance. - The Keith Flint (The Prodigy) Tribute Mix, 8th March 2019 #theBriskSelection
A few days ago the world was told that we lost a pioneer, a genuine rave master, Keith Flint. Part of the Prodigy, we do not need to introduce him or his band. I've covered that in previous reviews. And if you don't know the Prodigy, you are kind of a wally. How can you not know this majestic band? Anyway, he sadly is not among us anymore. And before anyone wants to turn into the Sun, we at TCD do not support gossips. We are not discussing the reason why or how he sadly left us, we are talking about this man in all honour and pride. And that's how we should embrace those who have left us. To honour the great Keith many are trying to get Firestarter on number 1, organising parties to commemorate him and the tragic illness he suffered from, and some do tribute mixes. The one that grabbed my attention was DJ Brisk's mix. Brisk presents his #theBriskSelection every so often, mainly via Facebook. I never have the time to catch his show live (only did that once), and that's because of the time (the lack of it for me). But thankfully he uploads his music everywhere, and this mix had to be on Soundcloud, the biggest platform of them all. And the mix (recorded on the 8th of March 2019) is all focussed on the Prodigy, and of course the craziest member of them all: Keith Flint. His death has left a mark on us all, especially on those friends and family of Keith. The raving culture was shocked too, but we are supportive, and show the world why he and the Prodigy are an all-time band. You might like the newer stuff, or the older stuff. Personally I was more into the early stuff, kind of lost interest after 'The Fat Of The Land', but this feeling emerged after I heard Brisk's mix: I kind of understand the Prodigy's message, even those records I didn't like before: it's all about raving. And fucking you up. That's what their music does. It leaves you breathless. It also showed me that the Prodigy's back catalogue is seriously impressive. What Brisk did was select the biggest dancefloor smashers by the Prodigy, and carefully mixed them together. And that's a task and a half! Knowing the Prodigy's catalogue they weren't a band who made repetative and similar sounding tracks, each track was different. So is Brisk capable enough to mix it all together, in a beautiful way? Let's find out, after the tracklist! 01. DJ Brisk - Intro 02. The Prodigy - Need Someone 03. The Prodigy - Poison (1995 Mix) 04. The Prodigy - Diesel Power 05. The Prodigy - Under My Wheels 06. The Prodigy feat Pop Will Eat Itself - Their Law 07. The Prodigy - Light Up The Sky 08. The Prodigy - Take Me To The Hospital 09. The Prodigy - Girls 10. The Prodigy - Funky Shit 11. The Prodigy - Thunder (Arveene & Misk Remix) 12. The Prodigy - Timebomb Zone 13. The Prodigy - Breath 14. The Prodigy - Spitfire (Future Funk Remix) 15. The Prodigy - We Live Forever 16. The Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up 17. The Prodigy - Resonate 18. The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die (Liam H Re-Amped Mix) 19. The Prodigy - Jericho 20. The Prodigy - Wind It Up 21. The Prodigy - Omen (Noisia Remix) 22. The Prodigy - Firestarter 23. The Prodigy - World's On Fire 24. The Prodigy - Warriors Dance (N2 Remix) 25. The Prodigy - Outta Space (Deekline Remix) 26. The Prodigy - Pandemonium (Booty Breaks Mix) 27. The Prodigy - Wild Frontier (Killsonik Remix) 28. The Prodigy - Voodoo People 29. The Prodigy - Music Reach (1.2.3.4) 30. The Prodigy - Ruff In The Jungle (Uplifting Vibes Mix) 31. The Prodigy - G-Force (Energy Flow) 32. The Prodigy - Full Throttle 33. The Prodigy - Charly (Trip Into Drum & Bass Mix) 34. The Prodigy - Your Love (Remix) 35. The Prodigy - Rhythm Of Life 36. The Prodigy - Boom, Boom, Tap 37. The Prodigy - Everybody In The Place (Hardcore Remix) 38. The Prodigy - No Good (Drum & Bass Mix) 39. The Prodigy - Nasty (Spor Remix) 40. The Prodigy - Roadblox (Reso Remix) 41. The Prodigy - Ghost Town (Cover version of The Specials) 42. The Prodigy - (Richard Chees) - Smack My Bitch Up (Outro) Brisk's achievement is something to be proud of. He has done a remarkable job composing this hour and 46 minute long mix. It's not an easy job to mix all these records togehter, all with different BPMs. Well, they are linked to each other, but still they differ mostly from each other, and Brisk makes it sound so wicked. And effortless. But I reckon it was the complete opposite. Brisk played a mixed variety of records, from the older stuff to music from their latest album. I'm really digging their stuff, no matter when it was made. But the early stuff is just so cool, so awesome. It wasn't an easy task to pick a favourite, and I'm not going to be able to mention my favourite: there are too many. And especially the way Brisk has mixed it all together, it just comes together so beautifully. The only records I don't like are the remixes that I do not recognise, like the Hardcore remix of 'Everybody In The Place', the Spor remix of 'Nasty', Deekline's version of 'Outta Space', etc. I'm a fan of originals, especially when they are made by the Prodigy. It wasn't an easy task for Brisk, but it has paid off. This is really the best tribute mix I've found so far, and with it we can celebrate the awesome things the Prodigy (and of course Keith) have given us. The most influencial rave group of all time. A fitting tribute to a lost legend. #RIPKeithFlint DJ: Brisk Genre/Style: Breakbeat, Rave, Electronic Punk, Techno, Hardcore Mix Info: The Keith Flint (The Prodigy) Tribute Mix Length Mix: 01:46:20 Tracks: 42 (fourty-two) Download/Listen (via Soundcloud): DOWNLOAD/LISTEN File Size: 243 MB File Type: mp3 Bitspeed: 320kbps More Information: DJ Brisk - Official Website
- Sc@r #SDWARRIOR (2019)
DJ Sc@r, where has she been? It's been a while since I last heard anything from this Australian super DJ/producer. I remember the Scarred Digital being released, but after she flew under my radar for no reason lol. Stupid social media. But she is BACK! With a brand new mix, with probably the least UK Hardcore-ish picture lol. This Indian thing on her head (I forgot what it's called), sunglasses, and the hashtag #SDWARRIOR . What's going on with Sc@r? It's an unusual way of presenting yourself to the world, but it does work for me. I remember when I used to listen to hear show on Kraftyradio (haven't listened to online radio for years!), and she always impressed me with her unique style. And she still remains like that to this day. She's unique, refreshing, and leader of her own label, Scarred Digital. To showcase what she and her label are capable of, she made this short (maybe too short) promo mix, with tracks from the label from the last 6 years. I had to quickly check her Soundcloud to see the classic mixes I used to listen to once a day, and they are bloody years old! I can't believe it, time has flown by so rapidly. The last time I saw her was in Belgium, and I can't even remember when that happened! Time, where are you? Okay, enough jibber jabber, tracklist time! 01. Sc@r - Rushin 02. Weasel - 90's Baby 03. Kingsize & Eternity - A Touch Of Magic (Sc@r & Energy Remix) 04. IYF & Nobody - Swing Core 05. Sc@r - Hardcore Power (Scarred Digital Mix) 06. Infexious - Mic Check 07. Rob IYF, Sc@r & MC Riddle - Make The Walls Shake 08. Sc@r - Something Different 09. Sc@r & MC Supplier - London City 10. Srav3r - No Fear 11. MoreMental MC & Tone-E - No Angels 12. Sc@r, Klubfiller & Tanya - Don't Say Goodbye 13. Joey Riot & Reflux - The Other Side (Macks Wolf Remix) 14. Code-E - Part Of Yourself 15. Catzeyez - Fk It Up (Sc@r Remix) 16. Tamerax & Lovely Chan - Ready When You Are 17. Dan Edge & Ben Manic - Don't Be Afraid 18. Violonc - Do A Barrell Roll 19. Sc@r & Douglas - Summer Groove The mix is just too damn short, I could listen to Sc@r all day long! Especially her early stuff, during the mid 10s. She rocked everything! That's the sound I recognise and fell in love with. Which led me to Belgium and me rocking (mostly on my own lol) on the dancefloor, singing out all the Sc@r tunes. I was a fan boy, and still am a fan of her and the amazing label. She just had to add a few absolute BEASTS in this mix! God, 'Rushin', 'London City' (sadly never mentioned Enfield), 'Don't Say Goodbye', 'Hardcore Power'... she is just so damn gifted. She still remains her gifts, and she keeps the 'old' sound alive and kicking. And that's what I like! But she had to end the mix with a stonker of a track! Freeform baby! 'Summer Groove'. What a wicked track to end your mix with, but is it my favourite? Nope, it isn't. The best one is 'Srav3r' with 'No Fear. Never heard of this artist before, but I'm digging this melodic Hardcore tune. Sc@r, make sure you keep those mixes coming. I need more. And I think many do agree. Does anyone know if Sc@r does come back to the UK for a tour, or am I a lazy sod and missed her coming back already? - Eufeion Presents - In 2 The Mix 5 (Happy Hardcore Classics 1) (2019)
Eufeion is back with a brand spanking new mix! The fifth instalment of his 'In 2 The Mix' has landed on Soundcloud a month ago, and I'm really delighted to announce this mix to you all! I know you all like a bit of Happy Hardcore, and you never guess what the main theme of this mix is? Correct, Happy Hardcore. The 90s style that we all miss and love. Before we continue talking about this mix, I have to say that I tried my best to find the previous mixes on Eufeion's Soundcloud page, but couldn't find them? I know he did a label showcase mix, and a general UK Hardcore mix, but the others I'm not sure off. I hope he does leave them somewhere, because I love this 'In 2 The Mix' concept. Not always the same style of mix, always different. Keeping it fresh and exciting. Back to the mix. Oh, and I found the location where you can get the other mixes from (Dropbox). Click HERE if you want to see the other mixes. Now let's focus on the current mix. It's Happy Hardcore. Oh yes. But seeing as I do know and love Happy Hardcore, the one thing I noticed immediately was the fact that these are all UK Happy Hardcore records. Does that make this mix a bad one? Absolutely not. More refreshing. The majority of HH mixes are always Dutch focussed, but to hear a nice UK version is more my cup of tea. It also contains one of the most overrated records of all time, but that's just my personal opinion. Now's the time (see, an Oldskool Happy Hardcore pun) to show you the tracklist. 01. Midas - Taken From The Groove 02. Two Ruff - Bouncing Darkness 03. Juicy Cuts 1 - Love U More (Remix) 04. Strippey & DJ Eff - Getcha Some More 05. Sy & Unknown - Techno Harmony 06. Billy Bunter & JDS - Come Alive (Remix) 07. Hixxy & Sharkey - Waiting To Get High 08. Juicy Cuts 5 - Love Of My Life (Remix) 09. Eruption - Let The Music 10. Hixxy & Sharkey - Toytown 11. Sy & Unknown - Move Your Body 12. Juicy Cuts 3 - Rainbow High In The Sky (Remix) 13. Billy Bunter - Hop On The Dancefloor 14. Sy & Unknown - Love For 95 15. Seduction - Imagination I missed out on a lot of wicked music during the 90s. When I grew up in the Netherlands we did hear a few UK Happy Hardcore tunes, but the majority was focussed on the continent's perspective of Happy Hardcore. So I did miss out on a lot. Thankfully I can find mixes like this one on Soundcloud and get educated. The mix starts with a wicked record by Midas, and this flow continues throughout the mix. This cheerful, cheeky, happy, and uplifting vibe is linked to most of the tunes. That's why I like it so much: it's innocent. It's pure. It's happy. It's everything we need to have in music. Yes, aggressive music can be a good outlet for stress and anxiety, but happy can take you to places you've not been to before. OK, I reckon you want to know my least favourite record in this mix? It's 'Toytown', an all time classic for the UK Hardcore massive. Not for me, I'm just not feeling the vibes. It's a nice record, but not the best. Mine has got to be 'Let The Music', 1000 times better. Eufeion, do not stop making these mixes. I am really enjoying them. What will your next mix contain? It's always a surprise, a lovely surprise! More are needed, so please keep them coming! - Hatred - Annihilate Mix #1 (2019)
One month ago Hatred uploaded a mix, and when I first listened to it, it only had a few hundred plays. Now a month later it's at 30.1k+ and rising. It seems that Uptempo is the future, and in retrospect, this mix is worth every play it receives. But the question today is (and it only applies to me): who is Hatred? I've seen their name before, but never delve into their past, present, and future. So give me a second to Google the shit out of them and see if I can find a proper answer. Well, I found a bit on Partyflock, and on this it states they are from Germany, and play rough music. And that is all. Nothing more. Well, I'm not that fussed who's behind the masks, so let's focus on who they represent: Hatred. But before we start talking about their latest mix, let's focus on the image above: they are wearing masks and robes? Is that what the kids are into nowadays? Anyway, the mix. It's about 46 minutes long, and contains epic Uptempo Hardcore records. But the uptempo sound is still new to me, so the majority of names are unknowns to me. But does that mean the mix sucks already? Nah, as you'd know I do not care about names, I only care about the music, and several times during this week I have been listening to this mix over and over again, and it nearly blew my speakers in my car. That's the way how you should listen to Hardcore music! 01. Vandal!sm & Hatred - Fuck A Whore 02. Insanity & The Satan - Bass Drop 03. Deadly Guns & Ncrypta vs The Satan - Rip My Enemy (Hatred Mashup) 04. Alice DJ - Better Off Alone (Sjammienators & Juliex Bootleg) 05. Hatred - Street Game (The Dope Doctor Remix) 06. Mr. Miyagi - Tear Shit Up (Hatred Kick Refix) 07. Nstinct vs DRS - Riot 08. Re-Style feat Alee & Diesel - Ultimate Hardcore Feeling (Hatred Edit) 09. Thyron vs Smasher & Napz - Harder Than The Shit (Hatred Mashup) 10. Orian - Burn (Nstinct Remix) 11. ProvenHate feat Killer MC - Prove Your Hate 12. Orian - Make Your Blood Spill 13. Chaotic Hostility - Make My Day 14. The Dope Doctor - Mash #5 15. Hatred - Don't Fuck With The Gangster (Mashup) 16. Trespassed - Who We Are 17. Barber - The Streets 18. Hatred - I'm A Beast 19. MBK x Orian x Nstinct - Last Breath 20. Cryogenic - Rocking Harder (Hatred Mashup) 21. Hatred - Addicts 22. Hatred - Shellshock (Tool) 23. Kurwastyle Project feat MC Komplex - This Is Who The Fuck I Am 24. Hatred - Annihilate (TerrorClown Remix) I've already listened to this mix a hundred times, and it still blows my mind. So damn hard, but so entertaining at the same time. I was only a few weeks ago in NL at GPF's event, and they played similar kind of music, and it sparked a fire inside of me. I'm slowly understanding the Uptempo community. It's not my all time favourite style, but I still enjoy it a lot. The masked heroes made this wicked mix, and it contains a lot of weird shit records. But the weirdest has got to be Alice DJ's 'Better Off Alone'. Who on Earth would have expected this record to be here? Well, it's obviously a remix, but still?! The mix is rough and raw from the beginning to the end. And even though you get a few moments to breath in and out, you will feel knackered towards the end. Hatred are really on a roll, and give us everything we need to get fucked. My brain felt like it was in constant agony, but that's what I needed. Thank God I've got paracetamol next to me, I need to shift this headache. Thanks Hatred, Nah, in all fairness, Hatred's mix might sound so damn hard for the untrained ear, but for those who love their music a little bit faster, you will love this mix. A few tiny little mistakes, but don't we all make mistakes? Which record stands out the most? 'This Is Who The Fuck I Am'. Those 'la la la' vocals. Catchy. Just check out this mix if you haven't already. Don't want to miss out on the fun, do we? - In Trance We Trust - The Best Of 1998 - 2015
When everything is not going your way, you need distraction. For some it's spending hours in a gym, for others it's having a massage, and for others it's drowning yourself into music. I'm like them. I cannot let a day go by without listening to music. And today I needed music to cheer me up. And will you Adam and Eve it, I have found the perfect mix to relax to. In Trance We Trust is one of those labels you know will deliver only quality. Don't know the full back story, but what I do know is that they have been around for years! And to showcase their awesomeness, this DJ called Adam El-Sayed made this tribute mix 3 years ago, back in 2015. It has all the highlights of the years 1998 until 2015. Now you might be thinking "is this a megamix?". Well, the answer to that is no. It's a good tribute mix, in which you can only hear full length records, no radio edits. 32 amazing records from this mesmerizing label, crammed in a 3 hour long set. What's not to like? It's Trance music, and it's a nice and 'long' mix. Not like ridiciluously long, but long enough. Just the right length to get you through the day. Let me show you the tracklist. It will bring a smile on your face. 01. Carl B - Just A Thought 02. JPL - Whenever I May Mind Her (Joni Remix) 03. Carl B - Fallout 04. Mark Norman - Niagara 05. DJ Eremit & R.O.N.A.M - Herzschlag (YOMC Remix) 06. Vadik - Sunplay 07. Carl B - Life Can Wait 08. Vadik - Earth's Breathing 09. Danjo - Hollow Glory (Kaimo K Remix) 10. Mark Norman - Teardrops 11. The Quest - C Sharp 12. Ralphie B - Massive 13. Midway - Monkey Forest 14. Midway - Travelling 15. Sneijder - Remember Me 16. Phynn - Lucid 17. T4L - Mediterraneo 18. Mesh - Purple Haze 19. Cold Blue & Del Mar - 11 Days (Sebastian Brandt Remix) 20. First State - Off The Radar (First State's 808 Clash Mix) 21. Midway - Amazon 22. First State - Sierra Nevada 23. Mesh - Esthetic Visions 24. Menno De Jong - Any Other Day 25. Phynn - Escape 26. Fred Baker vs Nyram - Confirmation 27. C-Quence vs Fictivision - Symbols (Will Atkinson 5000 Remix) 28. Existone - Forgotten Tale 29. T4L - Moonwalk 30. Menno De Jong - Abhyasa 31. Amir Hussain - To The Lost 32. Yahel feat Eyal Barkan - Voyage (DJ Tiesto's Magikal Remake) What a simplistic yet powerful looking tracklist. I cannot stress the fact that tracklists do not need to be complicated. The way Adam has done it is perfect. Simplistic, yet it sends a message across. Don't mess with this mix. I've heard the majority of these records before, but names never stick in my head. Like the record around 01:09:32, don't know the name of this record, but what I do know is that it takes me back to 2002, when for me Trance music was at its peak. When I discovered Trance events, this kind of music was blasting through the speakers ever single day. This mix takes me straight to heaven. This is the kind of music you just need to sit down for, and let it absorb you completely. Every day will be a blissful day. You need music like this, and In Trance We Trust you have found the perfect label. They represent the Trance music we all adore. Got nothing but positive feedback for this mix! - The Prodigy – Music For The Jilted Generation (1994)
Today is a sad day for everyone who loves Rave music. Everyone who knows the Prodigy has probably read the breaking news stories all over social media. Today we lost Keith Flint, one of The Prodigy's members. But before we continue, we are not judging anyone, or start gossiping about the reason why or how. We are here today to tribute his input into one of the world's greatest Rave acts. And that is an understatement that everyone would underline. I cannot remember which year it was when I first fell in love with the band, but it was after 'No Good' came out. As we speak it's one of the least favourite Prodigy records of all time, due to the radio overkill it received. But that said, it has paved the way for Rave to invade the Top 40 and cement its place into eternity. Not saying there weren't others, but the Prodigy took the Rave culture globally, and when they released 'Music For The Jilted Generation' back in 1994, they took the world by storm. A force we had not seen before. The music was different. It was groundbreaking stuff. Unique, and powerful. Any of the Prodigy records could be played at a rave, and the club would explode. Even in 2019 you can play records from this majestic album, and crowds will loose themselves. And all that fame and stardom because of a few boys just wanting to have fun. They broke the rules. Fuck that, they re-written the bloody handbook! I've never been to one of their livesets, but I've heard many people talk about this. It would have been an experience of a lifetime. Their energetic behaviour on stage would appeal to everyone. But back in 1994 they were still pushing boundaries, and this album (alongside 'Experience') has to be one of the greatest Rave albums of all time. I found this album on Soundcloud, and could NOT share it with you all. 01. The Prodigy - Intro 02. The Prodigy - Break & Enter 03. The Prodigy - Their Law 04. The Prodigy - Full Throttle 05. The Prodigy - Voodoo People 06. The Prodigy - Speedway (Theme from Fastlane) 07. The Prodigy - The Heat (The Energy) 08. The Prodigy - Poison 09. The Prodigy - No Good (Start The Dance) 10. The Prodigy - One Love (Edit) 11. The Prodigy - The Narcotic Suite : - The Prodigy - 3 Kilos - The Prodigy - Skylined - The Prodigy - Claustrophoic Sting As I said before, this is an important album. And it has been listed as an album you need to listen to before you die. Now that's an achievement on its own, but to still remain powerful, 25 years later, is just not something we just simply brush away. To me the first 2 Prodigy albums and Goldie's Timeless remain the finest albums I've ever heard. And there's a good reason for it: the music is limitless and eternal. You cannot say that these are dated songs, or even say that they sound a specific way. Because they don't. They sound like they were made to last a lifetime, or even eternity. And they will. The power behind this album is not the quantity, but the quality. You get full length records, and boy, are they solid as a rock! I have played this album over and over again over the years, and still it makes me feel like a boy. This album have stood the test of time, and it's all because of the efforts of the whole group back in 1993/1994. I'm proud to consider myself an early Prodigy fan. Not a fan of their latest stuff, but that said, it all depends on the person. I do prefer the old Prodigy, the rave stuff. But even with 'newer' albums they kept on experimenting with music. Which led to them being one of the biggest groups in the world. Best song? Pff. All of them. Yes, 'No Good' isn't my favourite due to overkill, but it still packs a punch. But the one that gets me every time is 'Full Throttle'. Yes, this is categorised as an album, even though it's put on Soundcloud. You should get this album right now! Pure rave nostalgia on a disc. - Lethal Theory Style Mix - 24-02-2019
Yesterday I was hugely disappointed, today I'm a happy bloke. Not only did I have a good day at work, I've been listening to a lot of wicked music on Soundcloud. It makes the four hour commute every day worth while. And also seeing my missus is an extra bonus. But let's talk about music, this is not This Morning. I think it was a couple of months ago when I first discovered DJ Threat on Soundcloud. If I'm correct (and correct me if I'm wrong) he did a Scott Brown mix, or an Evolution Records mix. Which got a good review (never given a Scott Brown mix a bad review). Now he's back with a brand spanking new mix, focussed on Lethal Theory. The ground breaking label that shook people's heads during the early 00s and 10s. If I'm honest, I have missed Lethal Theory a lot. I know Joey Riot has been busy with his Destructive Tendencies, but it's a shame, isn't it? Lethal Theory was the place to be for the best UK Hardcore and Powerstomp music. They were the originators of this 'new' style. And now they have disappeared. Maybe disappeared from my timeline, but I don't see much LT at all. It's a shame. So when I spotted this awesome mix, I immediately smiled. Lethal Theory. DJ Kurt. DJ Joey Riot. I still have a signed copy of his back catalogue (the CD). So, DJ Threat's mix has to be good. I can't be disappointed 2 days in a row. Time for the madness. Tracklist time! 01. Joey Riot feat Kelly C - The Power Within 02. Joey Riot - Your Smile (2009 Edit) 03. Haywire - Time 2 Rokk 04. Re-Con & Joey Riot - Don't Fuck With The DJ 05. DJ Kurt - Infexious 06. Gammer & Joey Riot - Comin' Up Strong 07. Himbo & Enemy - Everywhere I Turn (Orbit1 Remix) 08. EFM7 - Raver Raver Raver (DJ Kurt Remix) 09. DJ Kurt - Shimmy 10. Joey Riot feat MC Storm - Greatest Weekend 11. Michael Mansion - There 4 Me (DJ Kurt Remix) 12. Kurt vs Altered State - Talk To Andy 13. Joey Riot vs 2 Phat Laydeez - Don't Stop 14. Joey Riot feat MC Enemy - Deep Inside 15. Haywire & Joey Riot - Kontrol Freak 16. Joey Riot vs Ron-E - The Rising 17. DJ Kurt - World Domination 18. Himbo & Enemy - Threw It Away (Joey Riot's Lethal Re-Edit) This put a HUGE smile on my face! Who doesn't want to hear some Lethal Theory coming out their speakers? DJ Threat used the finest records by this label (and some I haven't even heard before) to compose this wicked tribute mix. A wicked looking tracklist, but is the mix any good? It can be a hit and miss with tribute mixes: some are extremely good, and some are just made by bedroom DJs who admire a label, but have not invested enough time yet to improve their skills. DJ Threat's mix is spot on. Tiny errors, but I'm going to let them go by. Nothing to worry about. I'm not a 100% sure that I've got the right record, but the record played around 57 minutes, isn't that 'The Rising'? If it is (or isn't), it's my favourite record of this mix. Fuck, who cares about the name, it's all about the music! Get this down you right now! Let's relive the golden years of Lethal Theory! - Thunderdome XXVI (2019)
I've been lied to. And I really dislike that. And maybe you experienced the same? You might have encountered the same issue on YouTube, when you think you are going to listen to a specific album, and it's not what you expected. The next thing you are going to see is one of those disappointments. And it really grinds my gear when it happens. Thunderdome is an institution, it's a way of life. We don't need to explain to the raving culture what it is, and what it means. We have all been hoping that the good ol' days would come back, and we could hear the music from the 90s and early 00s again. So when I spotted this 'new' and 'rare' album on YouTube I got happy. Only uploaded a couple of days ago, I thought that it might have been the real deal. But fuck me, that wasn't the case. It looks persuasive enough. The cover looks really genuinely Thunderdome-ish. It's been lacking this kind of covers for many years. They are playing it safe over the last couple of years. So to see this new cover was really intriguing. But I looked closely. A concept design. Fan art, basically. And that's really done amazingly! Credits to the one who made the cover. But then you look at the tracklist, and it becomes a disappointment beyond belief! Here, you have a look. Tell me what you thought of it the first time you looked at it! CD1: 01. The Stunned Guys & Darrien Kelly - Violet Skies 02. Neophyte - Fuck Martine (Stunned Guys Mix) 03. Art Of Fighters - Earthquake 04. Meccano Twins - Sinapse (Shadow Mix) 05. Korsakoff - Powerrave 06. DJ Dione - Infinity 07. Ophidian - Butterfly V.I.P. 08. Miro - The Shining 09. Rave Creator - Wake Up 10. Da Bulldozer Project - Bulldozer II 11. Mescalinum United - Live In Brixton 12. Paul Elstak & DJ D - You're A Hardcore Hooligan 13. DJ Paul, Attic & Stylz - Fuck You Up 14. Darrien Kelly & The Unknown MC - The People Want More (Marc Arcadipane Remix) 15. Tha Playah - Mastah Of Shock 16. Paratoxic - Introduction To The Paracore CD2: 01. Wasting Program - Final Solution 02. Impulse Factory - Your Wake Up Call 03. The Reactor & Raoul meets Impulse Factory - Rock My World 04. Dr. Z-Vago - The Lab 05. DJ Promo - X-Termination 06. Freez-E-Style - Slo Motion 07. Cypher - Marchin Into Madness 08. Mindtraveller - It's Getting Closer 09. Masters Of Ceremony - A Way Of Life (DJ Promo Remix) 10. Neophyte vs The Stunned Guys - There Is No Other 11. Randy vs Lukas - FSSU 12. Producer - The True Creators 13. Anal Cunt - B*tch Nasse Schuh 14. Ad Absurdrum - Der Feind Mensch 15. Bold Bob - Bold Bass I've not been more disappointed than hearing this CD on Youtube. What a massive cock up that was. To me it's kind of a click bait thing. Everyone who likes Hardcore would automatically click on the player, because it's Thunderdome. But if you inspect it closely, you see that it's not, and never will be. But because it has the name, people think it is. It's a fucking lie! And it's not EVEN Thunderdome material!!! Yes, some records do resemble the Thunderdome sound, but the majority are Italian Hardcore records, or just waste of time. You know when you've got a MoH album or a Thunderdome album in your possession: it's that unique sound. And this seems to be only click bait. A fake. I'm really gutted. Really disappointed. I'm waiting for that oldskool but new album from Thunderdome, but it hasn't arrived yet. And maybe this would have been the one. But it wasn't. This has pissed me off. The tracks are good, don't hear me say anything about that, but the way this is presented is just pure lying to the masses. Create your own concept, don't re-invent one. Be unique, and people will come if it's good. But this is just pure rip off. Jumping the band wagon of Thunderdome's success. I'm really disliking this 'album'. Yes it's rare, because it's fake. Don't be duped. If you just want to hear Hardcore music, go ahead: there are good records on here, but if you were looking (like myself) for some Thunderdome, you will be deeply disappointed. Fuck this shit. I'll give it the lowest score ever. Don't even bother to talk about the positives. This hurts my feelings. Just go to Thunderdome's official website for your Thunderdome fix. Not this rubbish. - Old School House/Techno Mix 1 (1989-1990) (2010)
It's Sunday morning. Most of you lot are having a hangover experience, after raving the night away. I get that, I was the same last week. My legs were like jelly, my head felt like it was about to explode, and my feet were so sore, still find it amazing that I am able to stand. So on a Sunday morning you don't want to hear something that might set off the bomb that is your head. You want something relaxing, right? Well, your friend TCD has found a wicked mix, that might get you in the recovery zone! House music. Who doesn't like House music? If you know someone who doesn't like House music, report them to the authorities! They should be in prison! That in itself is a crime against humanity. House has done nothing wrong, and has give us everything we need to be human again. Especially the early stuff, starting in the early 80s. It was all harmless, yet experimental music. And it's still beautiful to this day! Now you might wonder: TCD, which mix are you presenting to us? Well, it's a mix made by someone called pramster. Don't know anything about the DJ, so the focus today is entirely at his mix, a mix he made back in 2010. And in this mix he added some obscure underground records I've not heard before. Time to check the tracklist! 01. The 28th Street Crew - I Need A Rhythm (Vocal Club Mix) 02. Boneshakers - Don't Go Away (B.I.D. Mix) 03. Paradox - Jailbreak (House Tip) 04. 2 Guys On Acid - House Music (All Night Long) (Club House Mix) 05. Reese - Rock To The Beat (Original Mix) 06. Masters Of The Universe - Space Talk (Hyped Spaced Mix) 07. MC Showbizz & The Lap 1 Crew - Gotta Turn The Music Up (Critical Core Mix) 08. Ralphi Rosario - Get Up, Get Out 09. DJ Mink feat The Kid Carruthers - Hey Hey! Can You Relate (Sunshine Dub Instrumental) 10. BFC - It's A Shame 11. Fade II Black - In Sync 12. Fingers Inc. - Bring Down The Walls 13. Dream Frequency - Live The Dream 14. 2 Men On A Trip - You Make Me Feel (Get Funky) (Get Stupid Mix) 15. Kaos - Definition Of Love (Master Reese Mix) 16. Bang The Party - Bang Bang You're Mine (Rock Me Gently Original) 17. A Guy Called Gerald - Specific Hate 18. A Man Called Adam - Eartly Powers 19. Adonte - Dreams 20. Dionne - Move Groove 21. Fallout - The Morning After (1990 Remix) 22. Frankie Bones & Lenny Dee - Inject The Beat (Looney Tones) 23. Nemesis - After The Storm 24. Da Posse - It's My Life (Aluh Mix) 25. Njoi - Techno Gangsters 26. Charvoni - Always There (Dance Mix) 27. Petra & Co. - Just Let Go (Dubs) 28. Confidential - Psychopath 29. GTO - Pure (Pure Energy) 30. Neal Howard - Indulge (Club House Mix) If I'm honest, I don't know half of these records! And I was fully into House during the early 90s. But maybe it was a bit different, the House music I listened to. But that's not a big issue: this would only leave me in a better position to appreciate House music more! Again, I know nothing about the DJ, but he has made a very interesting mix with a lot of awesome records. Nice and relaxing flow throughout. This music genre cannot do any harm. It's flawless. It's beautiful. And it's timeless. I'm listening to this in 2019, and still get goosebumps. And am extremely mellow whilst hearing these anthems. Of course he had to add a few of the classic anthems, and they are so good to hear them again. But also a lot of underground stuff. I love it a lot. This mix is just the right mix to listen to when you are recovering after a night out. So what are you waiting for? Even though it's nearly 9 years old, you can still download this bad boy. Get this down your ears right now! - The Return Of Headhunterz Album Mix - Mixed By Elliot #028 (2018)
When Headhunterz announced his return to the Hardstyle scene, many embraced his return. Many witnessed him during his first period of success, and we kind of missed his sound. We thought we lost him to the EDM world, like Tiesto. But thankfully that wasn't the case, as Headhunterz returned. And what a way to return! A new album, sold out nights in the Ziggodome (I think it was the Ziggodome, right?). The world would know that the lost son did return to the mother sound! I did completely miss the hype around it. I was probably the last to jump the band wagon. I did see the YouTube videos of him, and those records really blew me away. It was the missed sound, the one we were craving for. Maybe a bit cheesy those videos, but the music was seriously EPIC. He was one of the reasons why I kept on listening to Hardstyle. It got dull at some point, but Headhunterz and friends still kept it interesting. I missed the release of his album. I missed the event. Well, blame it on my stupid health being dodgy. But now I'm back, and I went on Soundcloud to search for some Headhunterz music. And boy, did I find a mix for you all! A mix by Elliot. Half an hour long, pure Hardstyle porn. Euphoric Hardstyle. Just my passion and love. This is what the scene was lacking: good melodic and euphoric tunes. Or maybe I was listening to the wrong artists? Anyway, the tracklist. You will fall in love instantly! 01. Headhunterz - Intro 02. Headhunterz & Sound Rush - Rescue Me 03. Headhunterz, Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers - No One Can Stop Us Now 04. Headhunterz - Takin' It Back 05. Headhunterz - Destiny (Cinematic Edit) vs (Pro Mix) 06. Headhunterz - Still Standin' 07. Headhunterz - Path Of The Hunter 08. Headhunterz & Sub Zero Project - Our Church This is exactly what I needed. Last week I was at GPF's event, which was all rawstyle/puzzycore/uptempo, but now I wanted melodies coming through the speakers. I wanted lovely melodies (and no 3567313 BPMs flying through). And who else to go to? Headhunterz is the main man. Elliot made this mix using records from Headhunterz's album, and the album is dope as fuck. Lit as fuck, as people in the UK would say it. He always gives each and every record a special touch. Deeper meaning. Maybe it's easy for Heady, but to me it sounds like he's made such an effort to make music sound even better! Even putting tiny bits and bobs that no-one would normally give a shit about, he just does it. And what he also does is making music so extremely catchy. You won't find a record in this mix not catchy. All can be whistled to. Especially the one I really appreciate, and maybe that's just because it was targeted to me, a Dutchman. The best one in this mix has got to be 'Our Church'. But all in all they are all lit! I can't find any flaws on the production side of Headhunterz. I am seriously impressed with whatever he does. Just think of what our life would have been without him there. EDM isn't the scene to be in, mate. Stick to Hardstyle, you are bloody good at it. A GOD to the ravers. Elliot's mix contains only one tiny mixing error, but nothing to be alarmed about. This mix still remains extremely interesting to check out, and if you haven't purchased the album, you should do it right now!
